Dream Vacation (3.5 Stars)

This assignment was fun to make because I’m actually planning to take this vacation next summer. My friends and I really want to travel through the entire west coast. We mostly want to visit the national/state parks, but we would also like to go into the cities a few times. First we plan on starting in Tijuana, Mexico where I will get to show them around and let them experience Mexican culture. Next, we plan on stopping by San Diego and do some exploring there as well. I want to hit up the zoo and the beaches there, as well as the parks. We’ll be camping along the way, but the next big stop would be Los Angeles, where we will do some sight seeing and food tasting.  We will be on a tight budget, so we’ll see how much food we actually get to try. We will continue to camp and drive until we reach Yosemite park, our ultimate goal. There, we will spend a good amount of time being blown away by all the stuff nature has to offer. Overall, I hope to do plenty of hiking, eating, sight-seeing and driving! This assignment made me really look forward to next summer, but gotta wait three seasons til then!

Dream Vacation

Another Pinterest assignment! I’m finding that I like this website more and more…there’s no limit to what you can find on Pinterest.

When pinning posts for this assignment, I found I had several ideas of a dream vacation, so I pinned posts that had to do with all my ideas. I would love to visit Ireland, take a vacation at a lake house, go camping/hiking, stay in a cabin in the woods, and do all of those things with a dog by my side. I think all of these things are possible with the right amount of planning, money, and time. In order to travel with a dog I obviously need to be at a place in my life where I can have a dog. I also need to be able to have a steady job that I can take days off from. I think these things will be possible several years after I get out of college because hopefully I will have a dog, more money, and a good job that provides the money I would need to go places.

Here is my Pinterest Dream Vacation board.

Pinterest Dream Vacation

I’ve never used Pinterest in my life because I’ve never known what you’re supposed to do on it. So when I saw an assignment that included using Pinterest to create your dream vacation I figured now was the best chance I was going to get to finally figure out how to use Pinterest.

The full assignment was to post locations on a Pinterest board describing where I would want to go for my dream vacation. So I signed up for Pinterest and started finding pins for the locations that I would love to visit during my dream vacation if I didn’t have to worry about money or my disability of being in a wheelchair.

All of the locations that I pinned onto my board are mostly European locations but they are all locations that I would love to see at some point in my life. I’ve always loved to travel to different places in the United States, so I figured it would be an even better idea to vacation in locations with different cultures and customs than the US.

In my dream vacation, I would start off in the United States by going to Orlando Florida to be at the happiest place on Earth of Disney World. I’ve already been to Disney World before, but I promised myself that I would make sure to go back to Disney World sometime in my life. In Disney World I would go to the Animal Kingdom, Epcot during the day (saw it at night last time), and the Magical Kingdom.

Then after going to Disney World I would fly to Europe to start the European part of my dream vacation with the first place I would visit as Paris, France. While in Paris I would try all the best restaurants (no snails) in the area because Paris is known as the food capital of the world. I would also visit the major monuments of France like the Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum, because those are the main things to see in France.

After going to France, I would want to travel to Barcelona, Spain to possibly catch a Barcelona Soccer game against Real Madrid filled with the best soccer players in the world of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar. Then relax near the city and checkout some of the local cuisine.

The next location I would travel to is Italy so that I could eat real italian pizza and spaghetti. I would like to go on a tour of the Roman Colosseum, so I will talk to some people about making that happen. Then to wind down, I will go to Tuscany to stay at a nice hotel and drink wine.

After winding down in Italy for a couple of days I would then travel to London to see the sites of the clock tower and the London Palace (mess with the guards that are supposed to stay still at all times). After messing with the guards I would go to the Amsterdam in Netherlands to possibly try some brownies and see the major sites like the Anne Frank exhibit of where her house was.

Then after possibly being baked in Amsterdam by eating some of the brownies, I will want to go to Belgium to have some original Belgium Waffles at a quiet cafe along with some beer; since Belgium is one of the best countries in the world for beer. Since, Belgium is so close to Germany I will travel to Frankfurt, Germany to have dinner at one the highest ranking places in the area because I’ve heard Frankfurt is the place in Germany for the best German cuisine.

Finally, I will fly out to the Fiji islands to just relax by beautiful light blue waters for a couple of days until I’m ready to end my vacation.

Overall, it was a really fun and easy assignment of creating my dream vacation on Pinterest. Pinterest has a lot of great articles about these different locations that I plan on looking at in the future because creating the dream vacation just made me want to pursue going to Europe even more.

Dream European Vacation

For my next assignment, I chose to create my dream vacation in the form of a Pinterest board. I have a Pinterest obsession, so this was not hard to do. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Europe and visit a few different countries. I’ve specifically always wanted to go to Italy, Ireland and Scotland, so those 3 are definitely part of my trip. For the trip, I am going to Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, and Scotland. I pinned different things like “10 Things to Do in X Country” and tips and tricks for traveling. I also of course pinned items like “The Best Places to See in X” to get a good idea.

While I know it will be an expensive trip, I hope that I can save the money to be able to go with my husband and possibly my family in the future. I want to travel between each country preferably by train, but I know that I have to make sure to plan the specific order of places accordingly. That being said, I will probably have to take a plan between one or two destinations. One of the most important part of my vacation is that I want to see all the sights, but I also want to go places that tourists don’t usually go/know about. I think that part of going somewhere is seeing all the tourist-y sights but also seeing things that are done by locals. I’m especially excited to go to Switzerland because my cousins live there and we don’t get to see them too often. You can find the board here, enjoy!

Dream Vacation

I did this Dream Vaca assignment for 3.5 stars. I already had a Dream Travels board, but I just added to it for this assignment!

My dream vacation is and always will be a week in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I’ve been going since I was 2 years old, and haven’t missed a year since. It is without a doubt my favorite place in the world, and I will never stop going! Even when I have children of my own I will make every effort to take them every summer just like I had the ability to do.

This trip will definitely be possible for me, as I have been going for years, so I know what needs to be done!

Money is obviously needed for any vacation…

  1. Book the house, my family always used www.midgettrealty.com
  2. If going with other people, collaborate on what everyone will bring….
    1. food (we usually cook in every night so everyone brings their own breakfast, lunch, and a dinner or 2 they will cook)
    2. bed sheets
    3. clothes/bathing suit
    4. sunscreen
    5. beach chair, towels, cooler, umbrella, surfboard, bodyboards
    6. etc….
  3. Leave morning of, check in/get key to house, and bam! Vacation has begun!

Bucket List: See the Loch Ness Monster

I really don’t believe in the Loch Ness Monster, but going to Scotland is something I have always dreamed of doing. For one of my web assignments this week entitled Dream Vacation that is worth 3 1/2 stars (total now is 7 stars). This assignment tells you to make a board on Pinterest with all pins of things you would like to see, do, eat, etc on your vacation. I selected Scotland. Honestly, I have no idea why I have always wanted to go there. It looks absolutely beautiful and they live such a simple lifestyle there (from what I have heard). It is so weird, but if I had to pick a place to go it would be here. They do speak both English and Scottish Gaelic here so I feel like I would get around okay. The food, doesn’t look super appetizing, but this trip would be for the views, not the food. Hope you like my board! It made me really sad that I probably won’t get to go until after I am out of medical school (and out of debt… so like when I am 60).

Dream Vacation

If I had a ton of money I would take my dream vacation at the beach, swim with dolphins, kayaking, tanning and everything else. I would love to lay on the beach and just read a book. The hotel would be right on the beach and I wouldn’t even have to walk very hard. This was a really fun assignment bank, and it was 3 and a half stars.

Here is my pintrest board of my dream vacation!

Take me there

If I had an unlimited amount of money and was able to travel anywhere in the world, my first stops would be Fiji and Greece. Ever since I watched the movie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I have dreamed of roaming the streets of Santorini. I have never seen an ugly view of Greece, so I can only imagine what it would be like in person. I’m not sure why I want to visit Fiji. Maybe its the beautiful beaches, crystal clear water and underwater hotels that attract me. I also think I enjoy the idea that its a secluded island and being forced to learn their culture. I’m not sure where life will take me, but I hope it takes me to Greece and Fiji. Check out my Pinterest board to see some of the crazy views of Greece and Fiji.

This assignment required me to create a Pinterest board of my dream vacation. I found this to be fairly easy because I already have a Pinterest and know how to operate it, so creating a board for my dream vacation was a breeze.

Vacation of a Lifetime

I had to think of a dream vacation and create a pinterest board of it for the My Dream Vacation assignment.  Here it is:

Capture9

Couldn’t get the widget to work properly, unfortunately.

So my dream vacation would involve going to a very remote place with lots to see in the natural world like Norway.  I don’t mind the cold and some of the sights you see in pictures are truly breathtaking.  I don’t know what kind of food they eat there, but I imagine anything would be worth bearing to take a visit there.

Next I think I would like to visit Japan to get a look at some of the technological marvels they have there, like the robot cafe you can see on the pinterest page.  Tokyo is a big city in particular and has loads to see and explore, especially for tech heads.

One thing I’d like to do anywhere is skiing.  I’ve never done it, but it’s always been something I think I’d like to learn someday.  Something about whisking down a mountain at a fast speed just seems incredibly thrilling.  And the sights are beautiful, of course.

To make this project, all I had to do was go to pinterest, create an account, create a vacation board, and find various pins on places I would like to visit.  I don’t think about this kind of thing very often, so it took me some time to think of places I would like to go.  The keywords I came up with were Norway, Japan, and skiing.

Dream Vacation

Here is the original assignment.

Oh, vacation. How infrequent this word is spoken. Everyone else seems to be on an eternal vacation while we are working away. If time could stop for a moment, I would go on such a wondrous journey.

First, I would travel to very remote locations, such as these…

Follow Chris’s board Places to Visit on Pinterest.

I’d like to see city life, nature, and a combination of the two. Cities are cool because there is a high potential for ideas to come to fruition. Nature is cool because it is a stress-free environment that can let the mind wander.

Then I would eat wondrous food. Healthy food, of course. I would like to live a long life, at least long enough to make it through the vacation.

Follow Chris’s board Food on Pinterest.

I’ll eat most of anything, but I’d prefer healthier food if at all possible. It tastes just as good and doesn’t have any unwanted after-effects!

Alas, I could not go for long without toying around with gadgets. Although void of meaning, they sure are addicting!

Follow Chris’s board Gizmos on Pinterest.

Computers are hard to get away from in this day and age. It’s best to learn to live alongside them and make the most use out of them as possible.

Process

To complete this assignment, I had to use Pinterest.

I made an account, then searched for travel locations. I ‘pinned’ these locations into a ‘board’ so that later I could create a widget to display them in my post.

Pinterest

I then searched for ‘healthy food’, which came up with lots of green images. I pinned some of the tastier looking results.

Lastly, I searched for ‘computers’, which resulted in many gizmos popping up. I pinned a couple.

I created a widget for each board, and embedded it into my post.

That’s it!
