Point of View

For this assignment, take a video no longer than 90 seconds from the point of view of your character. Make sure to weave it into the story you are telling and include actions/materials that your character would use. Also, you could edit it in iMovie and add music.

On the other hand, if this is not for your character, then you could still complete this assignment by compiling short videos of your day told through your point of view and edit them together in iMovie, or any other video editing software.

So what you’re gonna do is, using a smartphone (or normal camera I suppose), take a panorama photo, except moving whenever you get out of frame in order to make it look like you’re in the same photo at least twice, but you get more points the more you can fit yourself in. Confused? Check out this link for better instructions! Make it interesting! are you and yourself friends? enemies? indifferent? Tell a story with a single panorama. And remember, No Editing! Check out my flickr for more examples! Best of luck mes amis!

Never fear – it’s the words of the year

Merriam-Webster keeps a year-by-year list of when words were first recorded, or first recorded as being used in a particular sense. Each year gives us a list of somewhat random unusual and mundane words. Your challenge: Take the list from some significant year, such as the year of your birth, and build a poem from the words on the list. You don’t need to be limited to just the list, unless you choose to do so. Any kind of poem will do – just make it meaningful.

Create Rad Album Art from Photos

First, take some photos of friends, family, yourself, your dog, or anyone that strikes your fancy! Then, make a collage out of your pictures in the software of your choice and turn it into some rad Album art! Experiment with filters, add shapes and colors, and think about how you can create a design out of your photos. Maybe you could bring in a found image or pattern into your work, or maybe you could cut up your photos to create unique shapes- the possibilties are endless!
Finally, come up with a band name and album title to add to your design piece. Think about your music genre and what decade it would be released in. And most importantly, be creative, and have fun!

(This task combines the Visual Assignment, ‘Unsuspecting Friends’ and the Design assignment, ‘Your Big Break.’ But your friends don’t have to be unsuspecting here. By all means, get permission to photograph your friends)!
