For this 3 1/2 star mashup assignment, I had to “This assignment will be completed through the use of photoshop. Take two existing video game covers and mash them up so that both can be identified but in a different style. Try to be creative in the title and artistic design.” I decided to do a mashup of Call of Duty and Overwatch. I took an image of a character from Overwatch and combined it with the cover of Call of Duty Cold War to bring you “Call of Duty Black Ops Overwatch.
I did the “Mashup Those Movies” mashup assignment where you “Take elements from multiple movie posters and mash them up into one. You can change anything- the caption, the title, the main image, etc. Lastly, make it seem like it could be a real movie.” But, I decided to remix this and for the remix, I had to use a Dr. Seuss-inspired character. I decided to use images of Thing1 and Thing 2 and make them the main characters of….”Parent Trap”. I just superimposed the image of things 1 and 2 on top of the Parent Trap movie poster and fill in the colors with the same colors as those in the original movie poster.
I saw the assignment picture and once again got caught up in the world of Twilight. I decided to use that picture of Victoria and put a Terminator twist on it because she basically embodies the famous line and keeps coming back to terrorize and terminate anybody that gets in her way.
For this assignment I decided to go with one of my all time favorite movies Harry Potter, I just chose the first one, and edit some of my favorite movie clips from the movie that explain the plot. I decided to focus more on the first half of the movie just to keep the video relatively short. to include the classic “Y’er a wizard Harry” but I also added some other clips like him living under the stairs, speaking to snakes and then some of him in Hogwarts because they all tell how he became who he is as a person as well as what his journey will be. It is a long action reel because it’s a long movie but I tried to keep it short as well and I know I didn’t get all the important parts. This was so difficult to figure out how to upload. My god.
My go-to Animoji is the poop, don’t really know why it just is. Maybe it’s the way the top of the swirl moves every time your head moves but I just love that Animoji. I decided to do the song Know Your Enemy by Green Day because I was in a heavy metal/rock and roll mood and I always play Green Day in those times. I wasn’t sure how long the recording was supposed to be so I just aimed for at least 30 seconds then I went max volume and hit record. I have to admit this was more fun than I thought it would be.
I saw this assignment and I immediately got an idea to create a summer/ spooky contradiction movie poster. I clicked the remix button just to see what it would give and then decided to roll with the remix and make it extra cheesy. I was using instagram as an editing program for the picture so I don’t really know what font I used and I couldn’t find the neon pinks and greens it asked for but I did my best to match. Once I created the general poster picture I decided to add some random stickers that fit the theme, so I added a bikini and palm tree to match with the summer movie title, a kissing emoji to represent the love theme, and then some other random stickers to add to the happy loving story the movie is supposed to be. I also added an Instagram filter that had hearts scattered around the picture.
For this assignment I had to create a movie poster that portrayed two different movie genres. I decided to make this poster with a brick wall background and neon lights to give a more night life Vegas romance scene while the image is more psychological or horror.
For this assignment, I was tasked with combining three of my favorite holidays onto one photo. My favorite holiday would definitely have to be Christmas, and my family still likes to convince the kids that Santa is real…..lol . So, I decided it would be easiest to find a picture of Santa for this. My next favorite holiday would definitely have to be Valentines Day. I am not sure if a lot of people consider this a holiday but I do. So, I just copied a picture of a heart and posted onto my photo along with Santa. My third favorite holiday would have to be Easter due to my favorite animal being a bunny and the fact that I receive so much candy on that day. Basically for all of the photos that I had found, I pasted them on Pixlr and cut them out to make them neater. From there, I then worked on layering/placing them where it would make the most sense. Overall, I think this picture spreads the joy, love and creativeness just upon first glance. However, let me know what you guys think of this!
Movie Mashup– is worth 4.5 stars. The instructions were to to make a movie that you really like. Now think of a movie that has been compared to it, and make a new movie poster that incorporates the two!
The two movies I decided to mash together is A Bug’s life and Antz because they are extremely similar and the digital animation of the movies ties into our theme well. I used Canva to create the poster. I was able to add the characters from Antz to the poster nicely. The green background two both movies were green just different shades. I had fun making this poster and Canva was very very easy. I’ll be using it more going forward.
In my completion of this assignment, I wanted to mash together video clips of my favorite TV character (personality). The character I chose was Will Smith, from the show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. I decided to take screen recordings of many of his funny moments on the show from YouTube. His character specifically was alway comical and consisted of him joking around on various occasions. Some of those occasions being, when it was actually supposed to be a serious moment and he took it as an opportunity to be funny. I also wanted to channel in on his reactions to Carlton (his cousin), as he was always giving him a hard time.
This process as I stated earlier, consisted of screen recording different clips of the show on my phone from YouTube. After that, I edited the screen recordings and made them a reasonable length for my mashup. I think just by viewing my mashup, one can observe the role he played in the show. I think that was the best part of watching the show, always knowing that something funny was bound to happen. Putting the clips together all came easy by using iMovie. After putting them together in iMovie, I uploaded it to YouTube and my mashup was complete.
