Classical-Modern Mashup with Dytto and Tchaikovsky

If you’ve never seen Dytto, you’re missing out. I swear this chick is part robot. I love when an artist is able to take a concept and just run with it. She can dance like… well… I’m not sure quite how to describe it. Just take a look.

Don’t You Worry Child Mashup

For the last Audio Assignment for this week, I chose to do the Original and Cover Mashup assignment. I chose this assignment because I thought it would be really cool to hear both versions of the song over top of each other. I knew it would be weird sounding, but I was still surprised at how weird it was. The assignment was also to choose a cover that was a different genre. The original genre of this song was actually under rock music while the cover had been put under pop.

I love this song so much because it actually deals with loss – which still connects with what I’ve been doing this week in other audio assignments. Both versions are beautiful, so I hope you enjoy my choice of music.

For this assignment, I picked two characters that are always confused by the public. I figured they are the best pick for this assignment. They are Gandalf Dumbledore!

Mashup 3

For this mashup, I did the This Doesn’t Belong Here mashup. I decided to use a still from the movie Captain Phillips and the movie ET because I thought it’d be weird. So here’s my final product:

Mashup 2

For my 2nd mashup, I did the Your Favorite Teams Mashup and used the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens because they’re my 2 favorite teams. I used the Ravens’ mascot, Poe, and decided to put the Oriole Bird on the front of his jersey so I could incorporate the mascot more easily.

Mashup 1

I decided to do the holiday mashup because it’s almost Christmas and I’m really excited. So for this mashup, I included the 3 holidays – Easter, Christmas, and the 4th of July because the mashup includes my 2 favorite things – Jesus and America. I really enjoyed this assignment.

Mash up: Close Up

The Here’s Johnny! close up from the shining in a brewery bar representing some people on a Friday night. Made with Photoscape.

Mash up: Photo Mash

A mash-up of WW2 and the Death Star. I’d improve upon it but PhotoScape’s UI is very un-user friendly.

Mash-up: Holiday Mash up

A Holiday merge of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Made with Photoscape.

For this assignment I decided to put my two chillest inspirations in a crazy place.  I feel like they could make Mordor a pretty sweet spot.  Imagine a Mordor where they allow you to order pizza on YOUR time? How about a bowling alley and some White Russian beverages? Sounds pretty cool to me.
