Arietty Goes House Shopping

I went house shopping today. I think I am in love with this backyard!

Check out the video I made about the backyard. While I was taking pictures, I thought about how I really feel about this class. Even though I struggled a little bit in this class, I still enjoyed it.

I would like to thank my MacBook, my wifi, my iPhone 5s and my mobile hotspot for making it possible to pass this class.

Digital Storytelling Reflection Panel

This assignment was to create a parody self reflection of the ds106 website. While everything I said was so far left, it was very hard to keep a straight face while completing it. I got my families help for this assignment. I decided to take the direction of making it a panel to ensure that the length was correct and that it was entertaining. It took quite a few tries before it became the finished product that it was but I am quite happy with it. To create the audio file was quite challenging. First I started by recording the interview. I just used some basic computer software. I honestly am not even sure what it is called but here is a photo of the generic software below.

After recording the interview, I thought to myself, there should be some opening music for this segment. So I used freesound.org and found some nice music. When I opened it, the file was pretty big. So I made the sections single and took a small section of the music.

I then copied and pasted the segment I wanted onto my sound file. As pictured below, I added the music to the beginning on the same track line and at the end on a separate track line (picture 2). I did that so I could have the music play out the interview. At the beginning of the file the music has the fade in effect and at the end there is the fade out effect. aa step 2

Without further or due, here is the finished file. Remember this is a parody so I hope that I did a great job. Please please give me constructive criticism!

Audio Self-Reflection PARODY

Can’t stomach all those glowing self-reflections about what’s so great about DS106? [Assignment1119] Then why not have a iittle fun and make a parody? Record a 3-5 minunte “self-reflection” from the point of view of a disgruntled student, teacher, or open-onliner, etc. responding to the questions: Why are you here? What brought you to DS106? Why are you still here?  Start by creating an obviously fictitous name and location, then let ‘er rip.  Maybe use a different voice, and some strange background music.  Provide a thumbnail image that will grab the reader’s attention when they scroll down the list.  Here’s an example of a self-reflection you can poke fun at.  You can submit your parody here for consideration to be added along side the other DS106 self-reflections.
