I actually made a t-shirt in high school for my government class. I used a website, which made it pretty easy. Though this time, I decided I would edit the shirt myself instead of a website to do it for me. Especially since I now had my own software to use, GIMP, and I wanted to test out the features more.

I was thinking about what to put on the t-shirt and of how I love graphic tees. I wanted to do something related to gaming, considering that’s something I like to do here and there. While looking for what game to pick, I remembered that one of the most classic games was Donkey Kong. Since it goes with the theme of this semester, I decided to get an 80’s Donkey Kong to put on the t-shirt. I found the photo of Donkey Kong from the 80’s online quite fast. Then I just searched for a black t-shirt.

I edited the photo of Donkey Kong onto the shirt, but it took awhile. I had to edit out the background practically pixel by pixel. Lastly, I wanted to add my own touch to the shirt, so I just added a word I think is so much fun to say: bodacious. Bodacious means “excellent, admirable, or attractive.” Don’t know, I thought it would add my own touch to it.

In the end, I actually really like this shirt. I feel like this shirt would be an actual shirt I wear. I am kind of considering printing this shirt out on my own. Either way, I hope you enjoy my shirt! I also left a little quote that I got while making this shirt.

I created a minimalist t-shirt out of a design I made the first week. I really like ~fashion~ but I like minimalist comfort ~fashion~. I really like how this shirt turned out and I think if it wasn’t on custom ink and if I messed with the color pallet more intensely it could be pretty cool.

I came across this shirt on coursebb website which is really related to this assignment. It is asking to be cool when you are angry which is great message in my opinion. This seems to be a cool guy who can remain cool even when he is angry.

The Story Behind the Story-

I love puns, inside jokes and chemistry. This is a T-shirt that I would wear with pride, extremely nerdy pride. This past semester in biochemistry, we discussed a large number of co-factors, more commonly known as vitamins. These are the functional portions of enzymes, the proteins that carry out all of our metabolic reactions. One of the enzymes we discussed, Aconitase, a key component of cellular respiration during the Tricarboxylic acid Cycle (Krebs Cycle). Aconitase is responsible for the hydration and subsequent dehydration of citric acid to produce iso-citrate, an intermediate of the cycle. Aconitase has a unique iron-sulfur cluster at the center of its active site that is able to coordinate the substrate of its chemical reaction, positioning it precisely so that the resultant product has a specific form of stereochemistry (the way the atoms of the molecule are positioned around each other.)
Prior to the discover of the iron-sulfur cluster, it was believed that aconitase functioned through a ring of iron atoms coordinated with some electronegative non-metal like oxygen or sulfur, this theorized structure was dubbed the “Ferrous Wheel” given that Iron with two valance electrons is named a ferrous atom. This proposed structure was eventually disproved, however I have always thought it would make for an excellent t-shirt. It would only make sense to a chemist or biochemist, so I chose not to include any text so as to make the joke somewhat exclusive. I have been planning to create this shirt for several months, so this project was a perfect choice for me.

The Tutorial-

To make this t-shirt, I used the CustomInk design lab program. CustomInk is a relatively new company that makes custom t-shirts. The tool was incredibly easy to use. I simply uploaded the photo I wanted to use, and then began using the tools of the site to reposition the image on the shirt. I also took advantage of the many style and color options available on the site.

Oh lord, what have I done now.

This week’s final design assignment was one I’ve been wanting to do for a while…design a t-shirt. Having been blogging for 5 years, t-shirt designs are something I have done once or twice for promoting purposes rather than franchising. Say for instance, when I go to a concert or a relatively large event, I have t-shirts that my fiancé and I designed with my logo, my character, and the website address so that people will either look or ask about it. Surprisingly enough, it’s work very efficiently for me.

However, today I didn’t design promotional t-shirts. I instead chose the franchising route and did some actually cool designs that I think I’m going to want printed in the near future…

So the first shirt is a really simple design, but I absolutely adore it. First off, I love polka dots. There’s a reason why I love Yayoi Kusama’s art so freakin’ much and it’s primarily because she uses a ton of polka dots and that’s kind of where I drew inspiration from. I didn’t want to use the typically uniform polka dotted pattern that many designs typically use, so I adjusted the sizes accordingly. The “simply me” in the corner is actually a series on my blog where I talk about my life in general rather than focusing on anime/video game figures and such. And in the top right corner, there’s a polka dot with a cartoon face…that’s actually a drawing I personally did and my fiancé helped outline and vectorize it in photoshop to use as my brand character. Granted…that was when I had longer hair, but I still love it regardless.

And this design is a more fun and playful design. The character is fairly larger and more centered which is quite typical of my promotional designs, but of course…I had to add a caption and I chose the only one I felt was fitting…”get rekt, nerds.” The text on both shirts was done in “Abril Fatface” font which I absolutely love because it makes captions either cute and classy or relatively funnier.

This was a great design assignment and ahhhhhhhhh! I hope I can actually get these made soon because I love them.

For this assignment, I had to create a t-shirt design. In doing that, I created a shirt with the Spinner picture on it and create a little slogan around it, “When in doubt, spin in out.” I created this on the photoshop app and then added the words on my pic stitch app on my phone. I uploaded the photo on photoshop and then went to the text part of it on pic stitch, where I typed in when in doubt, spin it out. This assignment is called create a t-shirt and is 2 1/2 stars.

This assignment asked me to create a T-shirt. Since I have recently finished “Stranger Things”, I decided to design a shirt that has one of my favorite scenes of the series on it.

I created a silhouette of each character of the scene and turned it gray. Using Adobe Illustrator, I image traced the screenshot and got rid of all the excess visuals. I then united all the colors using “unite” in the “pathfinder” window. The silhouette of the monster didn’t turn out that great, because its left arm was smashed behind a TV, which couldn’t be included in silhouette due to the lack of depth. Looking at it now, I should’ve used a blue that is easier on the eyes as well. I don’t think the shirt calls for such a deep blue.

I decided to make a t-shirt for one of my favorite drag queens on Rupaul’s All Stars. Her name is Tatianna and here catchphrase is thank you. I feel like the shirt explains itself.

During this point in time, I’m sure everyone has some insight on the many tragedies America has faced with police brutality from the present time and past. Everyone in the world has their own opinions about the tragedies that have gone on in today’s world and the past experiences with America. This post isn’t to isolate or degrade one’s feelings of how one feels about the dealings with police brutality.

However, if I could design one t-shirt it would state three words: “All Lives Matter”. I believe everyone should be treated equal and no persons life is greater than the next. It is important that the world knows humans are not perfect and no where in the creation of life says an individual needs to be a specific way in order to maintain oxygen throughout their body.  No person deserves to be mistreated or judged by society just because one’s color of skin, occupation, or religion is not the same as the next person.

Anyways, the photo editor site I used to create this T-shirt was Fotoflexer.com. I find Fotoflexer to be an easy source to edit, crop, and customize pictures that could use a touch up.

Chuck Norris was once bit by a snake and you know what happened next? The snake died of excruciating pain. This is how strong Chuck Norris has been. I have watched many of his movies and I admire all of his action. I know you would be thinking that movies are fake. What I believe movies are entertainment they are not fake. So coming back to Chuck Norris, I thought who else can be on my shirt than chuck Norris. I found a blank shirt on the internet and simply put a photo of chuck on it. The shirt says that I want to be Chuck, and who won’t to be as strong as he is? I think it looks great. What do you think? How does it look like?
