Aitana Rorcshen after the fall

This closeup photo of a worried woman in Kenya is a combination of two photos. It is Aitana Rorcshen, the woman who has just become the Shadow Leopard. This is the moment that she has awakened and is running away form the Cat statue in search of answers.

It is made up of a photo I took from the internet (labeled for reuse with modification) and a photo I took in Kenya! here are the two photos independently:

Here is a friend

Up on a mountain

How did she get up there?

Why is she so tall?

Help

Another photoshop thing for mixed prompt, I enjoyed making this. I hadn’t keyed out the background of an image in a while and enjoyed making little details like her feet going through the trees. The contrast needs a little work but I’ll improve!

Assignment Bank 17 #DS106 (4 Star)

I did ā€œI’m Ready for my Close Upā€ Mashup Assignment.

I had to use Adobe Photoshop and mix 2 images togetherā€¦again,

whispers… *and again.*

I was suppose to mash 2 images together, but this time it was a dramatic event of someone’s face and turn it into something completely different.

If you read my other blogs than you probably already know how I do this, but I’ll explain it again, I used Adobe Photoshop to open the images and than quick selected a soccer player in which he was celebrating a goal. Well where he’s going in this next picture he won’t be celebrating anymore. I grabbed a “School” picture, yes that is correct. A school picture. I pasted him, and viola he was in it celebrating being at school, what a champ.

What a way of celebration! (Man! I need to get out more…)

If you want to try it yourself and do way better than I did, you can find it here,Ā http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/im-ready-for-my-closeup/

I Woke Up Like This

For my first assignment this week I decided to do a mashup of two photos. One is supposed to be a closeup superimposed on another picture to tell a story (4.5 stars).

I took a close up of Squidward and and superimposed it on a dorm room. I also added an alarm clock to to add another layer to the concept I was trying to build. Last week I did a college reflection video and since then I’ve been going on a trip down memory lane. One thing that came to mind when looking for assignments this week was how popular Spongebob jokes were my freshman year. I also often feel like Squidward in my daily life so that felt very appropriate. I decided to combine this inspiration with the popular “I woke up like this” to demonstrate how I feel when I wake up in the morning. It tells the story of a college story forced to be a productive member of society early in the morning. It was a nice nostalgic moment as I get towards the end of my second to last semester of undergrad. I decided to post it to twitter so that everyone could enjoy the Spongebob moment.

Mash up: Close Up

The Here’s Johnny! close up from the shining in a brewery bar representing some people on a Friday night. Made with Photoscape.

Godlike Jimin

I chose these 2 images because Jimin the face on the image is one of my favorite members in my favorite South Korean Boy bands called BTS. I thought it would be fun to make him look like a god from this image because he looks so regal and above other people. I chose both images off of Google. Iā€™m annoyed that I couldnā€™t figure out how to make the edges of the image transparent and had to make them white instead. Other than that it came out how I wanted. Using GIMP is so annoying because it doesnā€™t explain how anything works and the tools arenā€™t very selective the only option is the whole image or nothing so I couldnā€™t even blur the edges of white around his face.

Assignment Bank 2 (Week Twelve):

I’m Ready For My Closeup

For this assignment, I was instructed to take a dramatic closeup of anyone’s face – an actor’s, a friend’s, my own – and superimpose a landscape or scene over said face. The goal was to take two completely unrelated images and put them together, then try to make a story out of it. Below is my final product and my thoughts and steps I took to create it:

This creation is the proudest I’ve ever been in this course. I am insanely proud of it and I have absolutely no idea why. It actually caused for a laughing fest to begin between my boyfriend and I. As I finished up the product, I calmly turned to him and said “mmm tators.” He had no idea what I was working on or what I was talking about, but when he looked at my computer screen – he lost it. We laughed for a good twenty minutes or so. But anyways, here is how I made this beautiful art:

  1. I had to decide what face I was going to utilize in the photo. I knew that I wanted it to be a humorous photo, thus when I saw this photo of myself – I knew it was the one. Oddly enough, I was actually at my best friend’s wedding when this was taken.
  2. Next, I needed to decide on a photo that would further add some humor to use as my background. I was thinking to myself, “Hmm, Thanksgiving is right around the corner…” and boom, I thought mashed potatoes.
  3. I then took to google to find a mashed potato-filled background to use and when I came across this picture of a turtle eating mashed potatoes – honestly, it was fate. I saved it so fast.
  4. I call this piece, Turtlesgiving. Happy holidays folks!

Ramsay is ready for his close up

So I guess this obsession with Gordon Ramsay is continuing throughout each couple weeks.. because here he is again, in what I would believe to be a nightmare for him.

Here Gordon Ramsay is shown stuck in a field of flowers. It seems as if he is calling for help because he doesn’t like this flowery crap. It’s a bunch of bollocks. He’d much rather be in the kitchen teaching the Hell’s Kitchen contestants how to run his new restaurant in Las Vegas. Instead, he’s stuck here just shouting in the flowery void for an answer. It’s hard to tell if someone will answer.

For this assignment I used google searches such as “Gordon Ramsay” and “field of flowers,” to find the perfect photos to describe a different representation of Ramsay. He’s actually yelling at someone on Hell’s Kitchen in this picture which I figured is the total opposite of serene flowers. I then saved the images and imported them to Photoshop. Then I cut the picture of Ramsay and pasted him in the field. Next, I cut pieces of the field behind him to put on top of him so that he would blend in and look more like he’s stuck in the field. I could’ve used the clone stamp but I can never figure out how. Lastly I saved it as a JPEG and posted it on here! I think the contrast of these two images works with the assignment because I used two completely unrelated photos.

Iā€™m Ready for my Closeup

For my first mashup assignment this week I chose the I’m Ready for my Closeup assignment worth 4 1/2 stars. I thought the juxtaposition this assignment allows for was quite humorous and that is what originally drew me to complete it.

To complete this assignment I first decided on an image for the dramatic closeup. I ended up picking a photo of Ryan Gosling from the movie The Notebook. I chose this image because it is the epitome of drama. He is standing out in the pouring rain trying to win the love of his life back. Once I chose the image I then picked a photo for the background. Like I previously mentioned I really wanted the dramatic close up to juxtapose the background so I picked the cutest picture I could fine, a basket full of puppies. Then once I had my two images chosen I used the app Pasteify to crop the two images together! Then I tweeted my final product here it is!
