What do YOU do on an everyday basis?

This assignment, I had to record myself performing an activity that I do on an everyday basis. I had to record myself for 8 seconds, so I decided to record myself texting. I mean I am not going to lie and say that I do not text on an everyday basis because I do. I decided to incorporate the texting sounds along with my video. I also added a title screen with the question from the prompt.

Everyday!

For this one star video assignment you are asked to record a short 8 second minimum of a specific thing you do on an everyday basis. For example, brushing your teeth, walking to class, playing a sport, etc. We want to see one of your daily routines! After the assignment is complete you will need to upload your video footage to either YouTube or Vimeo to create your blog post

This was a very quick assignment that I enjoyed. I put it together with video editor on my laptop. I recorded the voiceover with my phone. My family and I try to take a trip to the comic book store in town or the library everyday. Even if it is for just a second.

He deserves more than 8 seconds

Gotta give the big guy attention everday.

He’s a good kitty, yes he is! I give Cecil attention multiple times everyday. This time he actually came up to me demanding tribute. It’s on of the things I do every day, unlike going to class. And I don’t want to video myself brushing my teeth or hair or something.

Walking with Me

Have you ever thought about the route you travel daily to get to certain locations? Do you usually take the same route each day? Do you take in the different sights around you? Record yourself engaging in your daily activity.

Walking with Me

Have you ever thought about the route you travel daily to get to certain locations? Do you usually take the same route each day? Do you take in the different sights around you? I never really put much thought into the route I travel when going to class nor do I take the time to notice everything going on around me. On an average day I usually put my earphones in, listen to music, and begin my walk to class, using a simple route that gets me to class in a decent amount of time.

Today while on my way to class, I recorded a video of myself walking and tried to capture the different things I usually see while walking. Check it out.

I got the idea to film myself walking from the video assignment bank. Here’s a description of the task.

The minimum time required for the video was 8 seconds. If I were to record an 8 second clip, that would only be enough time to cross the street or even wait at the stop light while watching cars go by. With the use of Snapchat, I was able to record different aspects of my walk from leaving the parking lot and making it to my classroom. I was able to capture walking up the hill past the apartments, walking down college Ave., walking through campus, and walking through the building to get to my class. I also saw President Paino waiting at the stoplight but I wasn’t able to record that fast enough.

Using snapchat was a helpful tool because instead of having to record the whole 15-minute walk, I was able to record snippets and save them to the app. While doing that I was also able to focus a little more on where I was going instead of looking at my phone the whole time. While using this app, I was also able to add filters and banners to the video. When I had all of the clips that I wanted, I was able to create a video story. Snapchat makes it very simple for you. All you have to do is click on the videos that you saved to your memories and then click the button that represents “story creator”. Once my story was ready, I was able to save the video to my photo library in my phone and from there I was able to upload it on YouTube.

I thought this was a simple yet fun task and would consider doing another video going through one of my daily routines.

I always stay hydrated, here is my video

Everyday, without fail

For this video assignment, I was tasked with making a video of myself doing something I do every day. The hardest part was deciding what I should choose to film. Most things that are “daily tasks” are trivial and boring to watch, however other options aren’t literally daily things. There are things I do every day during the week (Monday-Friday), or maybe several times a week, but not daily. So, as unexciting as it is and as boring as it may be to watch-the one thing I do EVERYDAY, WITHOUT FAIL, no matter where I am is….check my social media accounts and email. I know…crazy! I used Windows Movie Maker and put my quick video to the intro of “All the Lonely People” by the Beatles.

What do you do? Look at web comics

I  a fan of a community made web-comics called Polandball. One thing I like to do is check sites that post daily.

Daily Routine

For my second assignment this week, I decided to do the What do You do? from the assignment bank. This assignment was rated 4 1/2 stars but I think it was a lot easier than most assignments.

I decided to record myself doing a task that I do every single day, the most tedious task, something I try and avoid… responding to work emails! I used to never really have to use my email, up until I got my job in SAE and became part of the exec board of CPB. Now my email is constantly flooded with sometimes irrelevant emails or emails that I need to respond to ASAP. So part of my day is to refresh my email, delete what’s not needed and respond to what is. I do this multiple times a day on my laptop and basically all the time on my phone.

Check it out.

Something that I do every day

I actually thought this one would be funny to do because no joke 80% of my life is spent doing exactly what you see me doing in the video. I am on my computer so often its not even funny. From playing video games to classwork to paid work you can almost always find me on my computer clicking and typing away so I figured it would be a good thing for me to showcase!
