Of Most Importance

The last video creation I made did not fit to our 80s theme. I created a majority of my videos to favor our theme so I used the last assignment to point out all the important people in my life.

To create this video I gathered pictures from my lifetime with my closest family and friends. I added these pictures to iMovie and, added music in the background. Then, I added different transitions to each photo and added a voiceover to introduce each person in my life.

5 important things to me :)

This is the original link to the assignment. It is worth 3 stars. This video was a lot of fun to create because I got to pick the top 5 things that mean the most to me. I love my animals so I chose my dog and my cat. I also chose my boyfriend and my twin sister. Lastly, I chose my bamboo plant that I have been growing since my freshman year of college. I used a lot of different transitions between the videos. I decided to add in a little background guitar music. I think it all turned out well. My cat was not being to nice during the video, but I really enjoyed creating this project. I hope you all enjoy it.

Ella’s Favorite Things

For my final assignment, I decided to do the Of Most Importance! Assignment (3 stars) for my character, Ella. I thought it would be fun to come up with some of her favorite things! At first, I thought of her magic/ witchcraft- of course! Then, I thought about her mother, who is the most important person in her life. I then thought about her excitement to go away to university, and the university she is most excited about hopefully attending. I then thought about what else might be one of Ella’s favorite things, and I came up with school (her education and current school) and yoga/ meditation (one her hobbies that helps her release stress from her day).

After brainstorming Ella’s five favorite things, I went to Google Images to find pictures to represent them. Here is where I got the picture of the mother and her child. Here is where I got the picture of yoga. Here is where I got the picture of the textbook. Here is where I got the picture of the university. Here is where I got the picture of “magic.” I then uploaded the pictures to iMovie. I arranged the pictures in iMovie to make each one approximately 30 seconds. Then, I recorded my voice in five segments talking about each of Ella’s favorite things. I adjusted the length of the images to match the clips, and I cut the ends of the clips.

I then went to the YouTube Audio Library to find a background song. I decided on Eighty Miles. It was not long enough to play for the entire video, so I copied and pasted it after it ended. I adjusted the volume of the song and clips of my voice. I made the song fade at the end of the video. I then added a title to the beginning and credits at the end. I credited myself as the director, the different websites where I got the pictures, and the YouTube Audio Library for the audio. I extended the song and last image for a little longer to go with the credits.

Once I played through the video and liked it, I downloaded it as a file and uploaded it to YouTube. This video was easier to create than I expected! I enjoy the videos where I get to record myself!

top 5 top 5 top 5 @umw

bellow you will find my response to the video assignment “of most importance.”

in this video i identified five of my favorite spots at the University of Mary Washington. in choosing my favorite spots, i just thought about the places i most frequent, and ta-da, the video came together.

i used my iphone to record my voice over; i used google to find images of the different locations; and lastly i used imovie to put the audio and visuals together.

Stars

I decided to put all of my stars into one post because they’re all hyperlinked to other videos/uploads! This week was INCREDIBLY hard. I spent about 12 hours on assignments this week and thought about withdrawing about 4 times. It sucked. But I prevailed and am now terrified of the rest of the semester. All videos are created with iMovie (except for the boomerang obviously.)

I did the Of Most Importance assignment for 3 stars first. I tweaked it a bit since most of my important people are not with me right now & I wanted to keep it consent. I went with pictures of my most important people & then said a bit about them after. See it here:

Then I did the Get to Know Me assignment for 5 stars. I pretty much just got questions from my own Facebook and my DS106 twitter (thanks Zae) and responded to them. I didn’t want to complicate it with music/effects so I left it as it was. It was SO HARD to upload. My iMovie wouldn’t save it. Then youtube said I couldn’t upload mp4 files (which is wrong.) Then youtube wouldn’t let me sign in. It was a completely unnecessary pain in the butt.

And of course to top it off it won’t embed the video!! Whatever. Just click here.

Then I did a click boomerang of my room even though it is a DISASTER. Click below to view my hot mess. This was 1 star.

Boomerang

Lastly, I put together my A Day in the Life assignment. Since I took videos throughout the day I had to wait until bed to do it. This was worth 3 stars (but should’ve been more in my opinion- it was a lot of work.) The only music I had in my iTunes was Ed Sheeran from like 7th grade so I went with it. Enjoy:

My day started off with my son yelling “MAMA” as usual. Work at 7, get the kids ready for school, walk them to school, and today I had a preschool tour for my son. Videos were frowned upon so I just stuck a picture of him waiting in there. Then we came home, I put him down for a nap, and laid down for 10 min while I waited for my caffeine to kick in. I worked on DS106 assignments for this week an then my son pooped everywhere. Like on the carpet and everything. So I just stuck him in the tub and sterilized everything after he was clean (hence the lysol.) Ian and I spent a few hours outside & at the park. Once he was in bed my mom stayed with him & my best friend and I went to see “A Star is Born” (10/10 recommend but wear waterproof mascara.) And now I am putting this together & will be going to bed!
