Spy Who

Who said what exactly.

Who Said Whaaaa

This assignment had em mix and match a photo, character name, and quote from different spy movies and mix and match them all together to try and confuse people:
The photo comes from “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” a spy movie released in 2002, while the quote comes from Jason Statham in the movie “Spy”. Harry Hart, the name I used to tie it all together comes from “Kingsman: The Secret Service”. The common theme for the elements I chose is that they’re all British in nature

Wonder Week Two

This week I began with doing my first daily create. I actually loved these! There is really no parameters. I like this because I get to be creative! My favorite daily create was the robots fourth law. I was able to use bender from Futurama! Futurama is an adult animated comedy show and bender is one of the characters. I was able to take a photo form the internet and add a mustache and gold tooth! I was able to then make two more daily creates!

Then after the daily creates were done I was able to go on to the assignments page and create three different assignments. My favorite activity was the Sports Gif. My boyfriend plays on club soccer and he kept telling me to us Neymar for this week!  So finally I chose this Neymar trick! I think this Gif turned out awesome!

I felt like I was really pushing my creativity this week. I really enjoyed changing my theme for my website and personalized it! I decided to look online for a superhero word press theme. I was able to download it and use it for my theme. I then personalized my website some more by changing blog names. I liked being able to personalize my webpage because it helped me experiment on word press. I was able to add in a plug in to block add comments.

Finally I was able to go on a google doc and contribute to the class design. I was able to come up with a few ideas. I was placed in the audio group. I came up with two ideas, but mostly leaning towards the voice over.

I didn’t really struggle this week with any of the activities. If anything it was just managing my time for the class. I figured out that by doing a little every night I was to not be overwhelmed and actually enjoy creating things. I have really enjoyed this class so far and I am looking forward to the following weeks.

Who Said What

Assignment-Find a picture of any secret agent you would like, preferrably a fairly well-known one. Next, pick a quote from a similar secret agent character. Finally, attribute said quote to a third similar character. You want the characters you chose to be well-known but also similar enough that people would confuse them with one another.

So I decided to go with the classic and arguably greatest secret agent of all time, James bond.  The quote is from Men in Black 3 and it was said by Agent J, the secret agent alien crime fighter.  I also associated James Bond with this quote because if not Agent J saying that quote, the other person that could say it and still sound cool would be the one and only James Bond. I got the picture from https://sixtiescity.net/Mbeat/mbfilms43.htm

and I used paint to write the quote.

Thank you for reading and hopefully enjoying.

Assignment Description :- Find a picture of any secret agent you would like, preferably a fairly well-known one. Next, pick a quote from a similar secret agent character. Finally, attribute said quote to a third similar character. You want the characters you chose to be well-known but also similar enough that people would confuse them with one another.

Explanation :- The characters I chose for the picture are my all time favorites Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. The quote is from the first Jame Bond movie Dr No and is about how Bond describes the first bond girl Ursula Andress. I have deviated from the assignment here in that I am attributing the quote to Sherlock himself. It kind of tickles me to have the Bohemian bachelor Holmes have this archetypal playboy quote attributed to him.

The original photo is downloaded from the internet https://richardedwards.info/2012/09/22/remarkable-war-hero-related-to-british-airways-and-sherlock-holmes/

I’ve used photoshop to edit the original and tried to give it an authentic Sydney Paget look (the original illustrator of Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).

Here are some pics of Ursula Andress from the particular scene and the movie

Hope you enjoyed going through my post. I certainly enjoyed putting it together.

A.W.

This is a quote from my secret agent character. His reasoning behind this quote is that A.W. is high stakes person, he loves being risky especially when it pays off with a huge reward!

My name is Bond, James Bond.

Agent Nice Guy would love to hear that James Bond and Jason Bourne are both working with a purpose, good intentions and passion.

Growing up, the only agent that I was mostly familiar with was James Bond; so I instantaneously looked up James Bond on Google. After selecting a good image, I decided to search Jason Bourne since he was the next character that I thought of. I then converted the image of Bond as Paint and clicked text to incorporate quotations. I thought the black and white tuxedo kept Bond’s image very sharp and clean so I added a black text that contrasted with the white background nicely. The process was fairly simple and I am satisfied with the poster-like result. =)

“Who Said What”: Well-Known Spy Misquoted

For this spy-genre visual assignment, I am particularly proud of my media product created. The instructions were to pick three similar secret agent characters, and layer a picture of one, a quote of the second, and the name of the third over each other into a ‘quote’ image. The point of the assignment is to confuse the viewer into possibly believing the origin of the quote, by choosing similarly well-known spies. View my product below!

Misquoted

I first searched for an inspiring quote from one of my favorite secret agents, Lana Kane from the TV show “Archer”. After finding one which was broad enough, but captured her personality, I noted that it seemed almost motherly in it’s critique. I then thought of layering it over a photo of the spy and mother Elizabeth from the TV show “The Americans”, which is on the same network as “Archer”. Since Elizabeth is of Russian KGB origins, I attributed the quote to the European spy villainness Rayna Boyanov from the film “Spy”. This name seemed believable when looking back at Elizabeth, and the quote fit with a photo which showed Elizabeth’s children in the background. All three are also from the same time-period of spy/secret agent storytelling (Modern day).

I found this assignment easy-to-average in difficulty. The difficult part was in choosing pieces of characters which could be blended believably to the unsure onlooker or the untrained eye of a genre-buff.

Nancy Drew meet Sherlock Holmes

Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes are my most favorite secret agents. This picture of Sherlock Holmes played by Robert Downey Jr and the quote from a Nancy Drew book is the perfect combination!!
