Make a time lapse video of you completing a project or activity. For example, it could be a building project, and art piece, doing laps in the swimming pool, or any other number of things.
Capture a series of still images and using video editing software, compile them into a stream of images.
For my example, I used a GoPro Hero HD 2 capturing frames every 2 seconds. To edit it, I used a combination of Quicktime Pro and Final Cut Pro X.
Onions? Love? Politics? Ke$ha? Have you ever had people just randomly ask you what your opinion on things are? Be it pop culture or something historical, we are always wondering what people think about something specfic. For this assignment, pick something that you are curious about what other people think on the matter. Go around and ask people “What is your opinion on…” and record their response. Compile the responses into one video. Have fun!
Make a 3-5 minute mockumenatry which includes a skit of an interview with a character who is based on an archytype.
Use a puppet or create one to troll a scene in film or television. Think about using a green screen, or just video a puppet in front the scene playing in the background. Be sure to find a way to make your puppet interact with the background story.
Make a video in which you mashup two movie characters from seperate films to create a seamless scene. Close ups, action filled shots and tight editing will assure the best results. Fight scenes, break ups, cop chases, are some examples of scenes that may work out well – but the possibilities are endless.
Just a week after the Spring 2013 ds106 class applied Roger Ebert’s How to Read a Movie to analyze scenes of movies, he went on to that big movie theater in the sky.
For this assignment, create a tribute to Ebert’s love of movies; but do more than just make a montage of clips of him. Put him in context with film characters, musicians, or place him inside one of the movies he loved or hated. Or mash him up, Do anything to show some respect for Ebert’s devotion to not only appreciating film but teaching others.

In the spirit of Making Art, Damnit, go forth and interview someone and ask them, “Why Make Art Damnit?”
Re-enact a particularly viral or noteworthy video meme (think Nyan Cat or David at the Dentist). Not to be confused with re-interpreting a scene from a movie, the goal of this assignment is to create a live action version, or a re-enactment of, one of those annoying yet irresistible video memes and viral videos. We’re looking at your “Epic 10 Hour Sax Guy”. Make sure to link to the original meme or viral video in the description on Youtube. Bonus points if you can include family members in the video :)
Make a video that represents who you are. You can either talk about yourself, show pictures or show things that you like to do (don’t let these limit you). The point is to be creative and let your fellow ds106’ers know a little about who you are and what you’re about. Feel free to incorporate things into your video (music, pictures, words, etc). Don’t forget to have fun while creating it.
