Video Assignments

Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat his Cereal

Have you ever seen the video “Ryan Gosling won’t eat his cereal”?

It involves using a prop to make a movie character to appear to be interacting with this prop. Film a short interaction (less than 20 seconds) of a movie character reacting to an object of your choice!

What’s the weather in your neck of the woods?

For this assignment your job is to make a video of you acting like a meterologist. Tell us what the weather is in your town one day/week; it could be real or completely made up (cloudy with a chance of meatballs anyone?) You could have a posterboard with the weather and point at it like someone would do on TV or you are free to use your immagination. Your goal though it to act like you are on TV presenting this to a live audience. It is your time to shine on the DS Weather Channel!

Give yourself an extra point or two if you actually use a greenscreen and do the weather like a pro!

Arts and Crafts Tutorial

You probably have watched at least one arts and crafts video in your life. Now is your chance to make your own! Record yourself making a fun arts and crafts project tutorial. Make sure you use voice overlay with step by step instructions and music to enhance the video. A Day in Your Life

In this assignment I want you to take video of what you do one day. Whether that is going to hang out with friends, or going on a long trip with your family. Take photos or video whichever is easier to do and then comprise a video out of it with a song or soundtrack that represents the day. Be creative and take images of your life that is out of the box or is something that you wouldn’t expect from you! This is giving others a glimpse into your life so make it count! I suggest that you use the 4K audio downloader for songs if you don’t have any on the computer and for the video you can use iMovie or Windows media player.

What do you do?

For this video assignment you are asked to record a short 8 second minimum of a specific thing you do on an everyday basis. For example, brushing your teeth, walking to class, playing a sport, etc. We want to see one of your daily routines! After the assignment is complete you will need to upload your video footage to either YouTube or Vimeo to create your blog post.
