So we cannot go back in time…. but can you recreate a pose of someone’s old photograph with them doing the same pose in the present? Make a photograph of someone holding their own old photo, with them trying to replicate the expression.
Try to recapture the then and now story of that moment in time.
Take an article from a serious newspaper (like “The Washington Post” or “New York Times“) and turn it into something you’d see on The Onion.
For example, the WaPo article “New USDA Poultry Inspection Procedures are Based on Bad Data, Government Report Says” becomes “Chickens Vote on USDA’s New Inspection Procedures.”
Include how the USDA fragantly courted the gray rooster bloc and public suspicion that lobbyist released a fox into the coop to prevent hens from voting.
Inspired by Jen Dalby’s reference to Captain Condom, create an unusual superhero. What are their powers? Write an origin story. If you’re more visual, design the costume for Sanitation Man, The Amazing Credit Default Swap, or whatever other unusual hero you can come up with.
Take Tina’s head and place it on another person or animal or fictional character or something. The original idea was to swap a babies head (now I ain’t saying Tina is a baby) and a dolls head. So like you could find an image of a baby and a doll and put the dolls head on the baby and the babies head on the doll. Just search “Talky Tina” on the web and stick her head on something else.
I did not really follow the hinted directions in the tweets that wanted to create the #dailycreate that I thought was going to be an assignment. So I put Tina’s head on Godzilla. That seemed appropriate.
Music is a powerful force that can change the mood and even the meaning of the visual media you are working with. In this assignment you are to take a video and include at least 3 pieces of music to the sound track to illustrate how they each can bring about a different mood to the viewer. Scary stuff, kids! Find a great little snippet from a 3D-style film where something comes out of the screen and towards your in the audience, and make it into a GIF. Consider looking at the fine work of Dr. Tongue and Bruno in their ground-breaking 3D films on SCTV‘s Count Floyd‘s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre (find their classic releases on YouTube), but don’t restrict yourself to their body of work!
Make sure, Friends, that you don’t put your eye out, and don’t put out the eyes of your GIF viewers, either! That would NOT be fun. But DO make a GIF, bub!
So there is a web site on Tumblr that @jimgroom said where everybody who wants to can make a GIF in a week with a topic that the guy posts and @jimgroom said it should be an assignment but he didn’t make it one so I did and now everybody can do a GIF challenge each week by looking to see what the GIF Fight! is for the week.

This is an okay kind of fight for Friends because it doesn’t hurt and it is making GIFs which is a fun thing for Friends to do together.
Sometimes somethings are just not as nice as they could be. Like if your True Friend doesn’t like your hat. One way to make them nicer is to do like the Hippies did to the guns and add flowers. That makes them more peaceful and nicer.
Find something that is not as nice as it could be, and make it nicer by adding some animated flowers. You can find lots of nice flowers to animate on the Internet. Say where you found your flowers. But make something nicer for your Friends by using flowers. I did!
