This was the first of two audio assignments that I completed this week, and I found the tutorial on it to be very helpful. In all, this assignment was a perfect way to get introduced to Audible.The act of reversing the song was easy enough, but I did play around a bit and get thoroughly frustrated and lost before looking up a tutorial.  I tried to pick a song that would sound melodic backwards and forward, because in my mind, that would make it harder for the listener to figure out what it might sound like the right way forward. If I ma being completely honest, I also picked the song because it’s one of my absolute favorites.

Can You Guess The Name Of This Song?

This assignment had us talk a song and reverse it for others to guess the name of the song. To do this, I just imported the song of my choice into Audacity and used the reverse effect. Any Guesses?

Here are some hints:

• This is a pretty recent song that has been reversed, it’s on the Billboard Top 100.
• The song title begins with the letter “C” and ends with the letter “C”.
• It mentions Michael Jackson.
• One Guy sings and the other one raps.
• The artist’s title begins with an “M’ and ends with an “O”. Any Guesses?

One of this weeks assignments was to reverse the music of a song file. This assignment was made simple because of the editor in Audacity. I have never thought about reversing a song so this assignment was interesting. It made the song make no sense at all but hopefully you will be able to figure it out.

2) The song is on his album “Chief”

3)  The title is something that you might call a boy in his home.

For this Audio Assignment I did Reverse Audio Quiz which is 2.5 stars. I had to pick a song that I liked and reverse it then give you three hints so you can try and figure it out.

I really enjoyed this assignment, I did it by importing the track onto Audacity. After I imported the track I went to Edit and hit select then select all and then go to effects and hit reverse. I never realized it would be that simple to reverse a song but there you go!

This song sounds really cool reverse so I hope that you guys listen too and can figure out what song it is!

For 2 1/2 stars this week, I did the Reverse Audio Quiz assignment. I chose this because it looked like a fun thing to do, and because I was curious about how some songs would sound backward. While doing this assignment, I ended up messing around a lot. I recorded myself saying a whole bunch of palindromes (words that are the same backwards as they are forward: racecar, hannah, kayak) and reversing them to see if they sounded the same. My favorite palindrome I came across was “kinnikinnik.”

In order to do this assignment, I imported a song to Audacity and from the Edit menu, selected Select –> All, and then from the Effects menu I selected Reverse. This easily reversed the song for me. After this, I exported the file so that I could save it and uploaded it to soundcloud. The point of this assignment was to see who could guess the song first, and below it are 3 hints if you need them. So, can you guess it?

This assignment was to pick a song, play it in reverse, and give some hints as to what the original may be.  I chose the song I did because I wanted a song that still sounded like itself even played in reverse.  That way there would still be a game of figuring out the sound rather than just going off the clues.  Can you figure it out?

I completed the Audio Assignment “Reverse Audio Quiz” in which you must reverse an audio file of music and give people three hints as to what the song is. My hints are:
-This song is on the soundtrack of a 2013 film.
-The singer’s genres of music are primarily considered to be pop, R&B, and folk music.
-The image on the audio file relates to the song itself and the movie soundtrack the song is from.

I decided on this particular assignment because I like to give people a quiz to solve. This type of assignment lets people interact with someone’s blog post in a different way and makes them feel a sense of accomplishment when solving the puzzle. I also wanted to listen to some particular songs backwards and hear how strange they sounded. I enjoy listening to the original version of this song and ended up finding the reversed version pleasant to listen to because the song is generally relaxing to listen to. I create this audio file by converting my iTunes version of this song into an AIFF file, dragging the file into Audacity, and using the Audacity editing tools to reverse the audio of the song file. I then exported the song as a wav. file, uploaded the file to Soundcloud, and embedded the Soundcloud file below.

This assignment was a blast. It was hard to pick one song but I feel like everyone should know this one! Audacity is a breeze for something like this and reversing the song took no time. I took a YouTube link and converted it so that it could be saved. I uploaded it to Audacity, reversed the song, and then saved it as an mp3 so that it could be uploaded to Sound Cloud. Big fan of this assignment. You rock Tom Petty.
