Storytelling Collague

My wife and I were happily married in August of 2007.  The story is of our wedding and honeymoon.

Color Change

This is an osprey nesting in Southern Maryland.  By changing the color it turned into an awesome reflection.

Your Very Own Spubble

This was a picture of me and my son at an amusement park.  I used Snagit to capture the photo and used the a tool in the toolbox to insert text into the picture.  Very easy!

Color Changer Visual Assignment (worth 2 stars)

For this color changer assignment, I decided to take a picture in Dc. This was recently taken and is a modern picture, but with all the changes to the light exposure I made and the background and also I changes in focus, the picture looks really old, so it was really interesting to see all the things you can change visually with a picture. And sometimes you can change it so much that its unrecognizable in the end.

I also learned to play around with different color schemes and background schemes.

Visual Spubble Assignment (worth 2 stars)

10492477_10203598496658911_6641160942400645532_n For this visual assignment I decided to snap a picture of myself, and change it to black and white to give the photo a cool vintage look. I decided instead of just putting a speech bubble from already created ones, I would create my own. I enjoyed this challenge and this assignment.

Total. Party. Animal.

Partymimi
Totally. I am.

For this assignment  I went through my photo gallery and found this gem. My expression is just like “I’m done with the world.” TBH my expression is usually like this (It’s my resting face! I swear I’m usually in a good mood!) but this one just jumped out at me. It’s screaming “I need to just go to sleep.”

Since we’re required to “grab a picture of yourself in which your body language, actions, gestures, etc. suggest one thing and then play off that” I decided to go with the idea of being a hyper party animal. It’s the total opposite of sleepy me in this image.

To make this, I first opened up my image in photoshop. Then I made a square and added a circle under it. I then cropped part of the circle to make the speech bubble tail. Finally I added the text.

Spubble me not… Did you Say Bacon?!

For the Visual Assignment, worth 2 stars, Your Very Own Spubble, the directions say: “…grab a picture of yourself in which your body language, actions, gestures, etc. suggest one thing and then play off that using a speech bubble…”  This was a challenge for me because I, of course, thought there were no pictures of me that could be used that would be embarrassing, no funny pictures, nothing!! Joke was on me!

I found a picture from when apparently my friend was snapping away and I found out that I make some strange faces, this one I happen to have my tongue out, likely for me just being silly and who knows why?!  With that I decided to play on it as if I were practically like a dog, since dogs like to stick their tongues out and salivate when they smell food I played off of that.  I took the picture and in the paint app cropped it and added a speech bubble that was opaque and then added text on top so that caption could be seen clearly!

This allowed for my creation below! Enjoy “Did you Say Bacon?!” (Originally posted to my flickr):

I’m not one to have random pictures taken of me

Spubble

My digital storytelling class calls this assignment “Your very own spubble”. It consists of taking a picture of myself and adding a speech bubble to suggest what my body language is saying. I hope you think it’s funny!
