Things are’t what they use to be. For this assignment pick a product, a piece of technology works best but you can use anything, and create a short video timeline of how it looked way back all the way to how it looks today. Be sure to add dates.

Text Impersonations

For this audio assignment take a conversation between multiple people over a text based medium, like Facebook or Twitter, and create a audio version of that same conversation. If you know the people impersonate them the way you hear their voice. If you don’t, imagine what they would sound like based on what they are saying or their profile.

Growing Up With Drew Barrymore

Think of an actor who has been in many movies throughout their life. Make a mashup video of clips from some of their most popular movies in order of the correct timeline that they came out, and try to document the story of the growth of the actor with their changing roles. This video can be no less than 4 clips and must be at least 2 minutes long.

Music Video

Music video are only the best way to listen to your favorite song because it give you the added visual dimension. Have you ever listen to a song and said ” oh this would be great with such-in-such movie”? Your task is to use video clips, NOT still shots, to create a music video for any song. Be creative!

Music Tag

One of my favorite type of assignments is audio! Lyrics and songs are great ways to tell stories. Have you notice similar themes extend genres… lyrics overlapping. Your task is to create a story by using audio snippets from songs. The trick is you have to have the last word of your clip, be the same word that starts the next clip. Use at least 5 different songs, try to include different genres or decades.

Find all the YouTube videos of your songs and position it to play a little before the part you want to capture.
Use Audacity to record the clips
Edit the Clips Together
Export Your New Story

Just Dance

This assignment is to create a dance video by combining dance styles of three different countries or cultures. After downloading three different dance styles; select those parts of the dance videos that would go well together. Afterward, combine those three dance clips; and mute its music. After muting the videos original music, add new dance music to it-remember the music you add should go well with all those three dance styles.
Write a blog post describing those dance style; also mention in which country those dance styles are common.

My example:
The dance video I created is a combination of Afghani Qataghani dance style, Indian Kathak dance style and belly dancing. The background music is called Qataghani saaz, which is an Afghani dance music. here is my example http://youtu.be/0m0iY2iEmWY

Movie Music Comparison – Can You Score?

Blend two songs from any two different movie scores, creating a mix of the two songs into one, but that make something new by the combination. Make sure the music matches or plays against itself- and expand on what story evolves from doing this. This may sound a bit daunting, but it’s fun to do! A great way to check on two different songs sounding the same is to look at YouTube Doubler – http://youtubedoubler.com/.
