Flickrmash

I used Flickrsounds to complete this assignment. I downloaded the pictures and the audio separately and then uploaded them in Windows Movie Maker. I copied the sounds over and over to fill up the time while the picture was being displayed.

FlickrSounds

Mashup a simple slide show of cc flickr images and freesound audio.

I used Flickrsounds to complete this assignment. I downloaded the pictures and the audio separately and then uploaded them in Windows Movie Maker. I copied the sounds over and over to fill up the time while the picture was being displayed. When choosing the pictures and sounds I just used the first 5 random words that popped into my head. Picture, dog, cat, ghost, phonecall.

Mashup Assignment FlickrSounds

DS106 students do not have much time left the clock is ticking…

This started as a riff on some cogdogfoo flickrSounds for #ds106 as a way of producing comic-strips of images and sounds. It gave me an opportunity to play with the flickr and free sound APIs.

It developed into a sort of slideshow of images and sound, a couple of examples.

To create a slideshow

  1. go to flickrSounds. Put in a word to search for
  2. When the image and sound load you can see alternatives by clicking he image or waveform
  3. When you have one you like click Add to Preview
  4. Repeat with more words
  5. When you have finished click Save as AV slides
  6. This will show you your slideshow and give you a bit of html to put into your blog (you need to be on text/html rather than Visual in the blog editor.

I do not think you can use iFrames in a wordpress.com blog but it should work fine on a self hosted wordpress blogs.

I’ve found that sound phrases, eg, tick tock or ‘drip drip drip’ are easier to get a reasonable result from than a quote.

I use one for my 404 here.

If I was counting I’d get stars for this and for creating a tutorial;-)

Love Genre Mashup

I chose the theme Love for my genre song Mashup. I thought this would be a cute montage. I found clips of people kissing and that seemed really “in love” (haha) and imported them into windows movie maker.

Video Assignments: Character/Genre Song Mashup- 3 stars

Find a theme from TV and/or movies (e.g. mosnters, cowboys, romance, planes, beaches) and edit a video sequence with a song track from a poop song that matches it. The more short cuts the better!

I found clips of people kissing and that seemed really “in love” (haha) and imported them into windows movie maker. I cut and trimmed them and linked the different scenes together. I used the song “First day of my life”, by Bright Eyes. I think that the music really meshes well with the video clips I used.

Taylor Swift Mashup

For this assignment (assignments.ds106.us/assignments/so…greatest-hits/ ) I was told to pick my favorite artist, and do a mashup of my favorite songs from them. Well, my favorite artist is Taylor swift, of course, So I picked some of my favorite songs of hers, that I thought would go well together, and i tried to put them together. This was very difficult, I have never really used Audacity before, so this let me get a little better acquainted with it, but I would record one part of a song, pause, then record the others, and so on, then I had to go back through and make sure to edit out the parts I did not want in and the noises that I did not want. I tried to put them together as best, and as smoothly as possible, but it was really difficult since I have never really used this before ! I used the songs: Love story, Mine, Im only me when im with you, and You belong with me. All by Taylor Swift.
This assignment was worth 3.5 stars.

Twilight Zone and Madonna mashup

For this assignment (assignments.ds106.us/assignments/music-mashup/ ) I did a mashup of The twilight zone theme song (www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVSRm80WzZk) and Madonnas song 4 minutes featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland (www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHHUhcV2e…ist=TLusySCX_04k4)
I chose these two songs, because I wanted to do something to represent the Twilight zone series episode time enough at last. The twilight zone is just an amazing instrumental with great build up, and the theme of the episode was that he did not have enough time – but time is not everything. I picked Madonnas song because she also has great music and I thought I could put them together well.
I used Audacity audio editing to edit this piece and I tried really hard to blend the different pieces of the songs together to make it seem like one whole song. I was not able to figure out how to get rid of me clicking my mouse, but I think I will figure that out eventually.
This was worth 3 Stars

This is my first time using Audacity! I have never used this program before! It is pretty easy! I used Youtube and found 5 songs that I wanted to use I did a theme of someone growing up, to their parents having to let them go, then letting your loved ones have the best in life, then letting you child have a spouse, then at the very end of thier life they want to make sure that everyone remembers them no matter what. Its choppy. I tried! I deff have to learn a lot more! I cant wait to learn!

All you have to do is upload your song into Audacity and each song work and mesh well with one another. You can cut out the sections you dont want. Then Ta Da! YOur new mash up!

Sam Jackson’s Sardonic Mashup

Reddit recently blew up with this Samuel L. Jackson video response. I decided to make it a touch more epic by adding Clint Mansell’s Lux Aeterna behind it. I downloaded mp3′s of both videos using http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ and added them to Garageband as separate layers. I then edited both of them down to about the length. Instead of just cutting Lux Aeterna down, I moved it around to align how I wanted it to with Sam’s speech. I particularly wanted emphasis on his big announcement. Check it out!
