I remember watching this during the College Softball Series back in June. In my opinion, this was one of the best plays I have seen. It is not easy to catch the ball, set your feet, and make a good throw to get the lead runner out. I can only imagine how much practice she has put in to make throws like that. With that previously stated, I could not help but think of a Bob Ross quote, specifically this one, “Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you are willing to practice, you can do.” One has to practice that over and over again until perfection. That out was a very necessary out for the Florida Seminoles against the Oklahoma Sooners. Had they had not gotten the lead runner at third base, the Sooners could potentially have had a run, and a rally started.

Best Sports Play of the Past Year (IMO)

To me, this was the best sports play of the year. The Bucks played great defense on the other side to prevent Devin Booker from winning/tying the game in the final seconds. The Bucks get a steal and convert that into a fastbreak alley-oop “AND-1” (Giannis was fouled on the play but still made the dunk). Giannis Antetokounmpo seals a game 5 win against the Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks would eventually go on to win game 6 and be crowned NBA Champions! For this assignment, I decided to put my own little spin on it. As we know 2020 has been a pretty crazy and very unexpected year. Sadly many sporting events just haven’t happened because of Corona. So I decided to make my GIF about one of my favorite sports plays of myself from my 2019 Soccer season.

Our Photographer at Mary Wash is probably one of the nicest ladies I have ever met. She is so sweet always asks how everyone is doing and takes the BEST PICS. My favorite thing that she does is take multiple photos of the same play. So making a GIF was so easy for this because all the pictures lined up so perfectly!

This game we beat catholic who was a ranked team at the time I believe. I had an assist in this game. The assist was right after this play. I passed it off then got it right back to hand off to one of my teammates to score. These pictures also are really cool and just so awesome. I really don’t get how she gets perfect photos every time. I also have a nice game face so that’s always fun to look at:)

Making this GIF was a little easier because all the photos lined up and I already knew how to make it so it took less time. However, even though it took less time this is definitely my favorite out of the two!

For this assignment I decided to use this play from the Patriots vs. The Ravens game a few weeks ago. A few of the reasons why I picked this play are the Patriots are my NFL team, this was a completely unexpected play, and it kinda relates to life. Life is always unpredictable however, you can keep it interesting by throwing a trick play into the mix every once in a while to spice things up. Everyone gets tired of the same old routine and people don’t typically like to be predictable. Life is so much more interesting and fun if you keep people on their toes, just like a great football game.

The Year of the Slam Dunk

2017 was a very exciting year for me as a basketball fan/athlete. I’ve had to stop playing competitively myself due to work, school, and family. But I still watch it when I have time. There’s always been athletes who dunk. But to me this year was something special for everyones favorite way to score in basketball: the slam dunk. The athletes that our country is making now are absolutely insane. Have you heard of Zion Williamson? You need to check him out in your free time. I chose this assignment because I’ve never made a GIF before, but I’ve always seen them around on the internet.

I started by going on Youtube to find a sweet dunk video, or highlight reel. I used this one.

Following finding that I used the old trusty Google machine to find a GIF maker.

I copy and pasted my Youtube video into the GIF machine and then followed the prompts through to completion of the GIF. The title I picked for the GIF was evident given what I’ve said thus far. I enjoyed this assignment, I actually found it to be fairly interesting.
