For this assignment, I was to play 30 seconds of my favorite song, sans lyrics. Is this my favorite song? Hard to say, but it does contain one of my favorite guitar solos.

What can I say about the song itself? Well, it, along with its album, is a huge part of rock and roll history. Fronted by a legendary guitarist and an up and coming singer. The singer, who’s voice I was to remove, ended up gaining a legendary status himself, as one of the most influential hard rock/heavy metal singers of all time. As for why I like the song, well, listen to those 30 seconds of guitar goodness. THAT’s why.

As it turns out, removing lyrics from a song can be a bit tricky. To make it easier, I chose to play 30 seconds of guitar solo. I started by opening the song in Audacity. Once I found the solo I wanted, I highlighted the part of the song preceding the solo and cut it out. I did the seem with the part of the song following the solo.

For one of my assignments this week, I decided to do the assignment, Favorite Song that was submitted by Alicia Almberg.

The assignment is to,” Take your favorite song. Remove the lyrics. Play only up to thirty seconds of the song. Listener must be able to guess. ” The assignment is worth 1.5 points.

I recorded my favorite song (without the lyrics) and uploaded it to soundcloud.

I liked this assignment because I thought it would be cool to see people’s guesses. (It’s really not tricky)

Favorite song 1.5?

For this assignment we had to pick our favorite song and take out the lyrics. Then we had to only give a 30 seconds or less clip and let our classmates guess the song.

For this song I chose my second favorite song at the moment. I’ve used my favorite song way too much, so I decided to pick a different one!

For this assignment I used Audacity to take out the vocals in my chosen song. I then exported the file and uploaded it to Soundcloud. Then I embedded it into this post.

I completed this assignment by downloading the audio from a youtube video of my song’s instrumental version. I then imported it into Audacity and cut it to just the first 20 seconds of the song using the trim tool. The final two steps were to export the completed clip and upload it onto my soundcloud account. This was a fairly easy assignment to complete once I got the actual audio into Audacity.

But, honestly, I guess it kind of is… either way, take a second to see if you can guess what this song is…

I found the karaoke version of this song on Youtube and went ahead and put it into Audacity, and there we go I have a thing! Was I cheating? Nah- I was finding the quickest/easiest route from point A to point B.

For this assignment I had to make a 30 second audio of a song and takes out the lyrics. I downloaded the song instrumental and put it on audacity. I cut the song to around 30 seconds so you can not listen to all of it to make it more challenging to guess. Good luck trying to figure it out!

I have more than one favorite song. There are probably too many to count, but the one I selected for this assignment is one of my top 100 and is very special to me. Can you guess the song?

Well after i thought that i completed all of the assignments for this week i realized that i did not do enough audio assignment. So I decided to do this assignment  which i thought would be fun. This song that i chose should be very easy to get if you know a bit of country.
