Motivational Poster: Remix

The first motivational poster I made was very snarky and sarcastic. I love it. Looking back on it, however, it looks more like a meme than a poster. It might have something to do with the fact that I made it using a meme generator site. So for my second attempt, I used Canva.

The first poster I made is also my least favorite. I wanted to make a poster pointing out that human beings are luckier than some creatures on this planet. Turns out, pandas are pretty dumb. Might be why they make for such cute videos and photos. Compared to the other posters I made, this one looks the most “handmade”.

If you ever feel stupid, just remember, you could be stupider

My second poster speaks to me A LOT. I 100% believe that a good nap can make you feel mentally and physically better. Sometimes, you just need to put everything aside and take a nap! I really like this one because it is all graphics and it just pleases me aesthetically.

We’ve all felt like this dog before

My final poster is my favorite, even if it really isn’t a motivational poster. This would be the perfect greeting card. The idea behind this poster was that reading a really interesting and wholesome fact would brighten one’s mood and potentially make their day.

This pig is so freaking cute!

Overall, I really love these new posters and they are an excellent improvement from the original.

Motivational Poster

If you have been following my blog over the past month, you will have noticed that I love being sarcastic and snarky. I personally think that most motivational pictures are cringy, cheesy, and embarrassing to look at.

When challenged to create a motivational poster, I immediately thought to create one to give guidance on how to deal with your enemies. I also had in mind the perfect backdrop for the advice. Using the meme generator, imgflip, I gave my vision life. In all of its glory, here is the most inspirational motivational poster to have graced this Earth.

Here is a fun story for you guys on this beautiful Friday evening. I have a very good friend of mine who goes to American University in D.C. During her freshman year she, like most college students, lived on a floor in a dorm building. Unlike most college students, a celebrity lived on her floor. Zoë Roth, the very girl pictured in front of a burning house. Last year, she sold the meme as an NFT for $500,000.

If at first you don’t succeed

The assignment I am talking about is this one! I noticed that some people said they could not see my tags on my blog posts, and after some time, I could not resolve this issue, so this is how I will let you all know what assignments I have completed.

One of the aspects of programming that I find enjoyable is all the different color combinations that terminal profiles have. I know to most people reading this, you will be like, “what is he talking about?” Hear me out tho; I see some people program on black and white screens or something a bit more relatable; people like to draft documents on a white background with black text. This can all be changed tho, and with programming text editors, there is a lot of customization for different keywords and operators. These other colors can be related to various design decisions discussed in this week’s materials.

So for my assignment, I was asked to create a motivational poster and describe the moment it captures. It is not uncommon to get yourself in an error situation called an infinite loop when learning to program, and sometimes these loops display some exciting things. This is my attempt to make light of what can sometimes be frustrating when solving programming problems!

Whenever I run into these errors this is what I always think about =]

I started to make this poster in Gimp but started looking online and found this helpful website for anyone that would like to try the assignment.

Happy Monday, Ds106ers! Is it Friday yet?

Motivational Words From Bob Ross…

Bob Ross is not only a painter but a type of motivational speaker and inspiration. Throughout his videos, his demeanor and the words he says go much deeper than just the painting. The whole vibe that he has with his videos creates an opportunity to learn some words of wisdom. For this assignment, I used an image of mountains and edited the photo to look like paint blobs. I then added a Bob Ross quote on top of the photo with a subtle black background. Hope you find this motivational!!

Xena’s Second Chance

This week we were given the change to revamp and redo some assignments that we crated in the past. I decided to redo my motivational poster design assignment. This choice was not because my Fluffer post was not good. The reason is due to something amazing that happened in our community recently. For some time there has been a massive following on the surrendered dog Xena and her story. After four years Xena’s family did what they thought was best and surrendered her to Stafford Animal Shelter where she became very unhappy. She was then brought to ODHS, where I volunteer, and now she has a foster family who are helping her until she is ready for adoption. You can go look into Xena’s story yourself if you would like to do some digging but I choose to look towards her future. For this motivational poster I used a picture of Xena from the night she came to ODHS. This was her turning point and hope is something she never gave up. For this poster I tried my hardest to make it fit the simple motivational poster theme. I used a black background, amazing photo of an amazing pup, and a word with a phrase that connects to the picture.

We All Just Need A Little Motivation Sometimes..

3 stars.. Original Assignment: Motivational Poster

This Design Assignment was to “Find an image and design a Motivational Poster for that situation. It should include advice or a favorite quote. Feel free to get creative or make it sarcastic. “

I decided to use one of my favorite quotes “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”. This quote was first shown to me by my dad when I was going through a hard time with soccer. I didn’t make the team I wanted to.. he showed me this quote and told me to keep pushing and working hard and it will take you where you want to go. I have taken this quote with me throughout most of my life in all aspects.

I used my favorite editing tool Canva to make this poster. I was able to use one of their free photos of people working out then paired it with a black background and a fun font with my quote and who said it first!

My Motivational Poster

Baby Yoda is so wise! The image of baby Yoda was taken from the Disney hit “Mandalorian”. The quote below is exactly what he said during the star wars series. It really means a lot to me, because that one small statement actually does motivate quite a bit. Do not simply say you will try … Continue reading “My Motivational Poster”

Motivational Poster

To all the single people out there, the kings and queens, I just want to let you know that you can make that shot. Basketball players don’t just shoot once and then give up. No, they keep shooting. They keep practicing until they can shoot and make the basket with no problem. And I want you to do the same. So go out there and practice on your game. Keep practicing, keep learning, keep being you and you’ll make that shot.

For this assignment, Motivational Poster, I went to Google and searched for shoot your shot. Once I saved the image I went to the Big Huge Labs and went to the motivational poster template. I uploaded the picture and wrote the text into the poster. After I created the poster I saved it to my computer and embedded it here using the image button.

Motivational Poster

For this design assignment I created a motivational poster. I picked one of my favorite quotes from Gandhi, found an image of the world, and created a frame. I arranged all of this in Photo Image Editor Pixelstyle. Hope you enjoy!

Feeling Motivated

Ready for an inspirational quote? You came to the right place! This challenge was to pick out an image and add a quote to it. It allowed the liberty of being sarcastic with it. So I hope you enjoy!

I returned to GIMP for this one because I had to. I think adding text to an image is about the extent of what I can accomplish on GIMP. Nonetheless, I think what we have here is a pretty good looking product. I especially loved the photo itself, to which I externally added a light filter to. The perks of having an iPhone.
