I did a “Missing Person” poster for this assignment.
Here is my final result. I couldn’t exactly find a template I wanted and instead just copied the picture. I than used the picture as a “template” and moved everything where I needed to go. In this assignment I was trying to keep it superhero themed, so I made it a superhero cat gets kidnapped by the villain and his superhero buddies put up missing signs to figure out where he is!
If you want to try it yourself you can find it here, http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/missing-person/
I had a lot of fun with this one, go ahead and try it yourself!
Wouldn’t you know it, Lufthansa misplaced Saiph’s crate and he was missing for 1/2 an hour.

For this 3 1/2 star assignment I spun my wheels for 1/2 an hour trying to find a free missing person template on line. After seeing what was available I decided that I could do it better and far easier using PowerPoint and downloading the final product as a JPG. Hint: Always save the PowerPoint presentation/project in the PowerPoint format…this makes it a great deal easier to recreate your work later if you loose it.

This assignment asked me to create a poster for someone who is missing. It’s straight forward, but I decided to have some fun with it.
I used InDesign for this assignment, and I did it from scratch. My main concern for this assignment was making it as readable as possible. Choosing the right font was key. In addition, putting everything in the right place was also a concern. Since my picture of the manatee was in landscape, it was hard to place while balancing visibility and spacial awareness. I shifted it around quite a bit, often finding the poster looking awkward. The final place I put it seems to work well though. My only complaint about my design is that the italic paragraph is kind of hard to read, which could have been fixed by choosing a different font or finding a better place for the block of text.
For another assignment, I made a Missing Person Ad worth 4 stars. I chose to use a character from my favorite show, Cristina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy. She left the show and I really miss her. I want her to come back.
To do this assignment, I first had to find a missing person ad template. It was kind of sad because this wasn’t a serious missing person ad. I found the template on http://4themissing.net, and all I had to do was type in the spaces provided, so it was pretty simple. I found the picture here.
For this assignment I chose Hank Schrader, a character from theTV series Breaking Bad, as my missing person. I looked for a really good picture, in particular a close up that shows all of his facial characteristics. I put the image on the left so that I could insert all the important information right beside it. I believe that this layout is more efficient in reading the information and seeing the image at once. I chose bright red lettering because I feel like it grabs the reader’s attention better than black font. I chose Orator Std. font for the information text because it has a more serious tone and easy to read. I tried to be as accurate as possible with the information by looking up character facts.
I knew what I wanted my plot twist to be for my final project and I thought I was going to have to make my own assignment for this, but luckily I found Missing Person. We have all seen a missing persons ad, as sad as that is. So this assignment was pretty simple to do.
First break out the Photoshop. Add a HUGE “Missing” title to grab the attention of many.
Add a layer then add the characteristics of the missing person.
After that, add another layer and find a free picture of some random baby on Google that fits your description. Make sure to resize it so it fits the canvas properly.
Then you can add a fancy “Have you seen me?” that is often under the photo to switch up the text.
If you have problems with the layers, just lock the layers you are done editing! Save and upload!
I definitely feel like I am wanted …not in a good way either
I am so glad this is my next to last assignment. It is from the Design Assignments, Missing Person assignment (4 stars). This took more time then I thought it would my biggest hold up was trying to find how to convert a “pdf” to a “jpg”. To start the project I had to create the “Flydolphin” picture then I created the poster (so essentially this project was two parts.
Part 1
Part 2
1. I then opened Microsoft word by clicking on the icon (at the bottom of my screen). I then selected a “Blank” sheet.
2. I then typed the following ” WANTED “Fly Dolphin”….Last Seen: 03/27/1996 Species: Mammals Height: 6’ 6” Weight: N/A ….If Spotted Please Call “The Natural Wild Life Society”540-780-9990 USE CAUTION WHEN APPROACHING THIS ANIMAL MAY BE DANGEROUS.
3. I first saved it as a “docx” extension then as a “Pdf” then I remembered it could only be a “jpg” file so I had to open gimp and save it as “jpg” extension.

In the movies Hangover series, Alen has never been missing. But the fact is that he has always been the cause of anyone else missing. He is funny and the movie would not be as funny as it is because of him. The main reason for my poster featuring Alen is because his brain might be missing from his head and that brain is the actual Alen. I am looking for that brain to be returned to me so that I can return it to him and he can come into his senses. It has been around two years since the last Hangover movie was released. I am waiting for the next addition to the series to see who else is going to be missing because of Alen’s missing brain.
