Mashing Friends and Emojis

Emoji face

I seen this assignment and immediately knew who I wanted to use for it. My girlfriend is alway making those enjoy faces and this has got to be her favorite one. She constantly sends it to me, (maybe because I get on her nerves). It’s nice to have all of these fun assignments where I can put my own spin on them. This was very simply all I did was get the two pictures, and combined them together using the popular app “PicCollage”, uploaded it to Flickr and shared it to my blog. I think it is a nice addition!

My Favorite Friends and their Emoji Twins

For my first Mashup Assignment this week, I decided to complete Mashing Friends and Emojis for 3.5 stars! I was very excited for this assignment, and I am obsessed with emojis and using them in all forms of texting conversation. The express your feelings in a unique way that words cannot do on their own. Words definitely hold a lot of meaning, but I think it’s very cool how a symbol/picture can also hold just as much, or more, meaning than the word itself! I decided to use two pictures of my favorite people, Douglas and my sister Diana. Surprisingly, this assignment wasn’t too hard because I have a number of choice pictures of the two of them making funny faces. Here are their emoji twins!

BeFunky Collage

I created this collage through BeFunky! It’s a great website that gives many templates and options to create picture/video collages. All I had to do was pick my desired template and then upload the images from my computer. I found the emoji images through a Google search, and already had the images of Diana and Douglas saved on my computer. I love that without even trying, they both perfectly match their emoji twins :) Douglas got the annoyed face emoji. In this moment he was definitely annoyed because I was taking too many pictures. He usually lasts for about 3-4 pictures, then gives up and shoots me one of these faces. My sister stole my phone at one point this year and took several beautiful pictures like the one above. I chose this one because it immediately made me think of the emoji sticking its tongue out!

What do you think? Are they twinning?

This is a mashup assignment worth 3.5 stars. I had to find an emoji that sort of matched a face my friend made in a picture. I use photoshop to make this photo.

Mash Up 1

image1-2Heart-Eyes

This assignment was worth three and a half stars in the assignment bank. I thought this one was pretty easy and it actually turned out to give me a good laugh. I chose to do the heart eye emoji. I took a picture and then edited it while in snapchat to create the eyes.

Emoji Mash Up

2Q==

This was a mash up assignment and it was worth 3 and a half stars. This assignment was to match a friend with a facial expression that is similar and put them next to each other for comparison. I chose my good friend my host character the death whisperer since you can see she isn’t the one to smile at the camera. So I chose the emoji with no smile because her eyes are the only thing that have any expression in the photo so I thought it matched her perfectly. I found the emoji image on google images and then I took the images and put them through a collage maker on a website and above is the final product. I went through a few emojis before I came upon this one. The first one that I found was a purple evil emoji but even though that is her personality it doesn’t match her facial expression at all. I was trying to find another evil emoji but they all had a sinister emotion to them that didn’t go along with her expression at all. I hope people agree with this match!

Emoji/Friend Mashup of the Week!

I thought it’d be fun to do this assignment as one of my Mashup/Remixes! And, of course, I was right. The hardest part was actually trying to find a picture of my good friend Carter that would actually fit an emoji. Then inspiration struck me and I remembered some old pictures from sophomore year.

I used MS paint to combine the two images and found an emoji sheet on google. The picture of Carter’s from Facebook.

Bon appetit!

This assignment was worth 3.5 stars.

Remix Part 2

ScreenHunter_05 Nov. 13 11.17I chose to remix a mashup assignment that I completed a few weeks ago.  For the original assignment I chose to make a collage of my friend and the monkey emoji side by side.  My friend is covering her mouth just like the monkey is doing so.  For the remix we had to edit different things throughout the photo and let the audience guess to see if they could find what was exactly changed in the picture.  The orginal photo is shown first and the edited photo is shown second.  I will give you a hint there were four changes that took place.

1For this assignment I used paint to make changes on the picture.  If you have not been able to tell what is so different I will tell you below:
I changed the border line of the cabinet to a dark gray
I made the diamond on her ring look bigger

I changed her striped shirt to all black

I changed the gold clip on her shoulder to purple

Mashing Friends and Emojis

I got super excited when I saw this assignment (3.5 stars). I’m currently sitting at the ITCC with a few of my friends. I turned to my left, and I knew my friend Emily would be totally down to help! Basically, I had to take a picture of a friend reenacting an emoji, how fun is that? My favorite emoji is the one I used, which I thought was perfect because Emily kind of resembles it! Here’s the finished product!

emily

The making of this was super super simple! Basically, I google searched the emoji that I wanted to use, and saved it on my desktop. Next, I made Emily pose just like her and I took her picture. Then I put the two photos together in a collage from BeFunky! Hope you all like it! :)

Mashing Friends And Emojis

emoji

This assignment was to mix an emoji with a friend.  We also had to work our host character in this weeks assignments.  The good news is you can now see how the Anonymous Host really feels.

This assignment is currently worth 3.5 stars.

Emoji mash-up

For this assignment, the task was to mash up emojis and real people. It was super easy and worth the two stars that it was worth. In this day in age, it is so easy to find emojis because they are right our phones.

I asked my friend Evan to choose an emoji to model. The one below is the one that he chose.

This project made me think of the process the illustrators must go through to create emojis.

For this assignment, I chose a picture from online and merged the picture of Evan and the emoji in an App called PicStich.

It is simple to use. You simple find a template that you like and upload the pictures into the layout. It is a simple App and lets you create intricate collages.
