Finding Nemo’s New Family

Nemo Shrek

Finding Nemo’s New Family. This doesn’t belong here… or does it?
For this assignment I found a picture from Shrek and one from Finding Nemo. Both photos were uploaded to Publisher. Nemo was edited, cut from the original picture, and had the background set to transparent. After re-sizing Nemo and placing him next to Donkey, he flapped his fins and smiled for the family photo!

Star Wars Attacks! (MashupAssignments1511 3.5 Stars)

Star Wars Attacks

I had originally wanted to do ET coming out of one of the spaceships from independence day, but I couldn’t find the right images to make it work.  I saw that a lot of folks were doing Star Wars, and I know they have another movie coming out soon, so I figured the stock photos would abound.  After I found the image you see here, I had to find an alien to add to it.  Star Wars is a pretty diverse galaxy, so pretty much anything would work.  I typed alien with a cloak, and this is one of the guys that popped up.  He is the head alien from Mars Attacks!, a really great comedy staring Lesilie Nealson.  It was a makeup test picture I beleave, so he was standing against a monotone backdrop, it was easy to remove with paint.NET’s magic wand, and the rest is history, as Star Wars Attacks!

This Doesn’t Belong Here – Lion King and E.T.

Assignment (3.5 stars)

For this assignment, we had to mash up two iconic movie scenes. I chose to mash up a scene from the Lion King. and a scene from E.T. I chose these two scenes because I felt like they had some similarities, as both have an upward looking perspective.

To complete this assignment, I found the two images on Google that I used for the mash up. I then downloaded each of them into Photoshop. First, I had to cut out the Lion King’s image using the magnetic wand tool. This took me quite a while, as I had never attempted something like this before. I finally got it cut out the best I could, and then I copied the image onto the image of E.T. I had to make sure the background of the Lion King was transparent so that it would blend in with the other image. After these two images were combined, I uploaded the finished file to WordPress.

Trek Wars Mashup

For this mashup assignment I had to mashup two iconic movie franchises. I chose my favorite two franchises Star Trek and Star Wars.

Trek Wars

In this picture Captain Kirk is helping the Jedis fight Count Dooku’s droid army on Geonosis. I chose this scene because the Jedi are trapped in a circle and there was a perfect spot open for another character to join the circle. So I found a picture of Captain James T. Kirk with a phaser, cut him out of his original scene, and added him to this scene. I really enjoyed this assignment because I got the idea while I was re-watching all of the Star Wars movies (so I can prepare myself for The Force Awakens). I saw this part in episode II and knew Kirk would fit perfectly into it.

Lightning Fast and Furious

In the realm of racing movies nothing gets bigger than the Fast and Furious franchise. However there is a competitor to the speed of the Fast and Furious cars, and HIS NAME IS LIGHTNING McQUEEN!

Lightning McQueen is the king of speed and a naturally nice car. He wins the heart of viewers in this momentous crossover between Fast and Furious and Cars, due to his super speed and friendly gestures towards the losers of the races.

V changes his daggers for laser….

I grew up watching Star Wars. My dad is a big fan and he is currently waiting for the new movie. I also love Star Wars, I remember once my brother and I tried to watch all the episodes together (we couldn’t). Another of my favorites movies is V for Vendetta. I like how everything start confusing and all of the sudden it makes sense. However, it took some time (I do not remember how many times I had watched it before it make it sense). I think that if V was part on the Star Wars series he would use two light sabers and he will be fighting. So, I took V and I try to put it into a dessert battle scene of Star Wars. I hope you like it, so enjoy

Movie Mashup

This is the “this doesn’t belong here assignment” worth 2 points

Matrix Thompson mash

I love movies, and I love comparing movies. Naturally, then, I would love to mash movie images together, no? Well, it was quite a bit of fun, though my particular choice perhaps isn’t as subtle as the assignment calls for. I played around quite a bit with Johnny Depp’s head to try and render it a more similar color to the washed-out palate of that shot from the Matrix.

RUN FORREST RUN!!

pHJieQ1

My favorite movie is Forrest Gump. The main character, Forrest’s attitude to life is so simple, it reminds me to stop over-thinking and just live. I choose the sunset in reference to Lion King because Hakuna Matata is essentially saying “life is like a box of chocolates”.I used a free photoshop online and searched through hundreds of Forrest Gump scenes and landed on the scene of him running, because that’s the one scene I find most impossible about that movie (plus I always cringe because I have exercised induced asthma). I was trying to think of something ironic or subtle, And ended up with Lion King. I originally had the idea of taking a scene from the Walking Dead and placing Marilyn Monroe in the fight scene, but I realized neither of these were movies so I ditched the idea… for now ;)

This Doesn’t Belong Here

For this asignment you need to mash up two different iconic movie scenes. However, you should aim to be as subtle as possible. Perhaps a famous prop that simply doesn’t belong or a character that looks a little out of place.
