Holiday Mashup

4.5 Stars

For this assignment, I had to make a mashup of images from my three favorite holidays. I decided to use a Christmas tree for Christmas, champagne glasses for New Years, and a turkey for Thanksgiving.

This assignment was really easy to create. I used Canva again to edit all the images together and then downloaded the image onto my computer.

Holiday Mashup

It’s the holidays! If you said that to a person from a lot of other countries, I think they would be like, um, okay, what does that mean? Which holidays? We know that as Christmas/New Years, or maybe adding in Thanksgiving too. So, that makes the perfect inspiration for the Holiday Mash Up assignment. I included Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I was able to do this on Canva. Happy Holidays!

This was the Holiday Mash Up assignment worth 4 and 1/2 stars.

Mashups Assignments for week 12

Logo Switch Up     2 Stars

For this Mashup, I combined two of my kids favorite places to eat. We now have McDonald’s selling pizza. I used Canva to combine the McDonald logo with a pizza from Pizza hut. I tried to put the pizza behind the golden arches but I ended up making a mess. So we have a floating McDonald’s logo with a floating pizza.

Holiday Mashup     4 1/2 Stars

Holiday Mashup required me to combine 3 holidays into one picture. I used Firey Dragon that I created for this class. She is wearing a Santa hat for Christmas, holding an Easter basket with Easter eggs and she is holding the American flag that represents the 4th of July. I used Canva for this project and searched for pictures that had no background or where considered transparent. It did take time to resize all the elements in order to fit Fireys size. It was  trial and error until I got the look I wanted.

Mashing Friends And Emojis     4 Stars

This is my favorite Emoji, I have a pair of sun glass almost like the Emoji. I couldn’t find anyone to pose wearing my glasses or any other pair of dark sun glasses. So, I searched on the internet for photos of people wearing sunglasses, I was determined to do this assignment. I used Canva to put the two pictures side by side for this assignment.

The @IamTalkyTina Headswap   21/2 Stars

For this assignment I used a phone app to put the head of Talky Tina on Albert Einsteins body. I used Faceover Lite  phone app, its free through the App store. I was really surprised how well the hair of both characters blended together in this photo.  It did take a little trial and error to get the Talky Tina face cropped and blended into the Einstein photo. I am happy with the results.

Favorite Holiday Mashup

To complete this assignment, we were to use a photo editing software to mash up our top 3 holiday celebrations. I chose to mash up 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. To do this, I used a picture of a Christmas tree, a turkey, and fireworks. I then brought the photos together using the Photoshop mix app. Once I inserted the pictures, I edited a few of them so that the fireworks would blend behind the Christmas tree. I then added a background color to tie all of the images together. I chose to use my character Deidra as inspiration in creating this assignment.

3 of Deidra’s favorite holidays to celebrate is 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. These are her favorite holidays because her family and friends usually come together to celebrate with each other. 4th of July is the main event during the summer time where they all get together, play games, cook out, and enjoy each other’s company. As it gets darker, Deidra’s family gathers outside to watch the fireworks. This is her favorite part! Her uncle Bobby is always in charge of fireworks and he usually gets the huge ones and sets them off for her family.

Favorite Holiday Mashup

For thanksgiving, Deidra’s family always goes to her grandmother’s house for dinner. While there, Deidra usually helps prepare the food in the kitchen along with her mother, aunts, and grandmother. One year, Deidra was “in charge” of making the turkey. When she went to grab the turkey out of the box, instead of finding one that was ready to be put in the oven, she found a live one that started chasing her around the house. Now every year, Deidra’s family brings up that memory and then they watch the video of her being chased around the house. After thanksgiving dinner, the family rests up and prepares for an evening of shopping.

The next day, after everyone has finished shopping and had leftovers for lunch, Deidra’s family goes out to pick a Christmas tree. Once they found the one that they like, they chop it down and take it back to her grandmother’s house to decorate. When decorating, they listen to Christmas music and hang ornaments, lights, and other decorations (some of which goes back to before Deidra was born). When they finish decorating, they sit back and watch Christmas movies. Later on Christmas Eve, the family returns to Deidra’s grandmother’s house for a gingerbread house competition. They end the night driving around looking at Christmas light displays.

My love is mostly candy based, apparently

My favorite holiday by far is Halloween. Candy, dress-up, horror. It’s the best. The rest I like pretty much the same amount, although Easter pulls ahead also because of candy. I love Peeps. Way too much. And now they make them for every holiday, but the original Peeps were Easter only. I also love jellybeans. And dying Easter eggs. Christmas has presents, but also delicious food: Christmas cookies, fudge, splurging for dinner at expensive restaurants, and even more Christmas cookies.

Holiday Mashup

My three favorite holidays.  For this assignment, we had to mash up our three favorite holidays in 1 pic and for me, it’s Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the 4th of July.

Have a Merry Spooky Valentine’s Day!

I had way too much fun with this one. I chose the Holiday Mashup assignment for 4.5 stars and LOVED it! Christmas is by far my favorite, followed by Halloween and then Valentine’s Day. I made Christmas the main theme and Halloween & Valentine’s Day smaller. Canva makes everything easier. I first found a snow background in canva, then found a santa image, pumpkin bucket image, and heart balloon image. I made sure none of them had backgrounds that would be hard to edit out. Here is my finished product!!

Mashup 1

I decided to do the holiday mashup because it’s almost Christmas and I’m really excited. So for this mashup, I included the 3 holidays – Easter, Christmas, and the 4th of July because the mashup includes my 2 favorite things – Jesus and America. I really enjoyed this assignment.

Have a thankful, scary New Years!

I finished the Holiday Mashup (4,5 stars) assignment and choose the three holidays that Charlie Sass likes the best. Thanksgiving, Halloween and New Years! I found a good scary background, and then I layered different png pictures over the background to represent the three holidays. I used GIMP for the assignment, and didn’t run into any issues.

Here’s the result:
