That’s 70s show I do not know how you did it but you guys deserves a round of applause HAHA honestly that is the only thing I have to say about this assignment and what I did with my friends. I was laughing the entire time. I got something in my eye it was just weird. We talked about what ever popped into our head and it had to come to sexual related questions and I think that this has a lot to tell you about how the world is today. I feel like now a days all the media or magazines talk about sex and make jokes about it when it is more of a serious matter. I feel like every time I look at my newsfeed on Facebook or look at Twitter everyone is talking about they are having a baby or their little sister is having a baby and I am like seriously this needs to end now! These children are having children. But you know me and my friends take it as a joke and here is the video all I did was take a video of everyone talking… it was trying to be a circle passing thing but that stopped because it got too seriously funny to drop and we did not want to break the video camera.
Probably one of my all time favorite Disney lines is that title. Who doesn’t love a good forced pun being said by the odd muse out? But seriously, Hercules is super dreamy. I mean who doesn’t love a modest super hero son of a god? Come on, it’s not even fair. Plus you can total tell that he is sincere with the way that he treats his princess, Meg. He is just immediately blown away by her looks, I mean who wouldn’t be? Her hair is flawless and when she turns around she disappears for a second because she is THAT skinny. Seriously, it’s ridiculous. But I always loved the scene where they first met. I’m not sure if it’s because it reminds me of me when I met my first boyfriend (is this tmi? oh well). But just seeing someone and getting too nervous you can’t even speak. That’s how Herc feels (I like to think that we are on an abbreviated name status). Want to see if for yourself? Check out this clip that I used for my assignment (which I will explain in a jiff).
So what am I doing for this? The four star Hitch cut assignment of course!! Still need more elaboration? Well the general idea is pretty simple. You show a character’s look, then show what they are looking at, and then cut to their reaction. Then the real fun starts. You change what they saw in the beginning. Changes the whole meaning of the clip, and can sometimes make people look pretty bad (but Hercules never could look bad)!
So what is the opposite of skinny little Meg? Well Hades of course! The villain who turns from ice to fire when he gets mad certainly is different than Meg and all of her feminine wiles. So here was my final result:
Pretty awesome right? I know that it was supposed to only be looks, but I decided to keep Hercules’ stuttering in because it shows his shyness in talking to Meg, but then later can be used to show him being scared of Hades. It’s just interesting to see a hero being afraid of a villain in a Disney movie since usually they always seem so strong. Not so strong anymore, not are you Herc?? However, once I decided to keep the sound in, I decided to keep it in for Hades as well, just to show that there was a conversation going on between the two of them. I had a lot of options to pick from with this clip, but ended up going with the first freak out from this long list of them.
Now I needed some background music!! What kind of movie doesn’t have music?? Exactly. We need music. So of course I went to the songs from Hercules and decided to go with Meg’s song of “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” in which she realizes that she loves Hercules. I listened to the song about 4 times (because who doesn’t love a great singing session) and decided to go with a part in which she says “this scene won’t play” while the beginning of the Hades clip starts. While it’s a small detail that no one would have caught, I thought it was pretty clever myself. I guess Meg is scared of falling in love, Hercules in now scared of Hades, and that’s just how it all panned out once Hitch’s cut was performed.
Once again, I made this in Windows Movie Maker, it was seriously such a headache to work with, but I’ll explain that in my weekly summary. This was pretty easy with just importing the clips and then from there adding the soundtrack, I really used the zoom tool a lot in this case in order to make the cuts more accurate, and I extended Hercules’ first glance in the second session as well (hence the shaking of his head) in order to get the message across. I just used the copy and paste tool in order to do that once I had the section cut off that I was using.
A couple of weeks ago, I made a foley clip for part of Charlie Chaplin‘s silent film, the Lion’s Cage. Once everyone had made their own clips, we had to assemble them all into one smooth foley story.
I downloaded the original video of The Lion’s Cage from YouTube via Keepvid and uploaded it into Windows Movie Maker. I muted the music and then downloaded each foley clip I wanted to use.
I lined up each clip with the video in Windows Music Maker and then added title slides to introduce my view on the story. I decided to make it from the dog’s perspective. The way I see it, the dog was just trying to get someone’s attention to help him and then thought he could pull out his master through the bars. You see, the man (Peter I name him), got into a fight with his fiancé (the woman later on), and decided he’d rather brave the lion than her wrath. Luckily, he and his fiancé were able to put aside their disagreements and help each other out.
The song I wanted to play in the background was Naive by The Kooks, because my story had a couple fighting, just like in the song. Unfortunately, I couldn’t figure out how to get the music to be added to the movie since the original soundtrack was still there, but just muted. After fidelling around for an hour, I just gave up and used the song as background music to the intro, and unmuted the original soundtrack to play during the film.
I didn’t add any closing slide, because I wanted the viewer to imagine what happens to the couple from then on, instead of telling them.
This was the biggest pain in the ass to date. We had to do this remaking of this Charlie Chaplin scene here.
Then we had to go back and reuse the sound we made for it in the beginning by removing the original sound and clipping it to the video. This was annoyiing because none of the sound matched up and some was louder and others were quieter and others had people laughing in the background the whole time they were recording the stupid clips. Then we had to remake the story into something new. The annoying part was that you couldn’t get the clips of sound to stick with the video in iMovie after you had everything in place so I had to load it onto youtube, then redownload it another time after I had already done it so I could have attached sound. Here’s my first upload of the damn thing.
So then I tried to reimagine the video and make him just walk in on his own free will. But this turned out to be very hard. It was in no way easy and I don’t think it turned out nearly as well as anything else I did this week. Another reason I don’t like it. I’m frustrated that I have to even post it. But here it is.
I love myself but I am that weird child that loves animals from under the sea and loves to eat them too. I know that sounds weird but its like they taste good what am I supposed to do? Exactly! Well I think that my I am me video has a lot of sea creatures and I have eaten most of them. When I go on vacations I love taking pictures and most of them are fish or underwater animals. I think they are the coolest. In doing this I learned what my favorite animal is a jellyfish! They are so graceful but can be deadly! Just like me hahah just kidding… or am I? *evil laugh* Back to what I was talking about oh yeah my video I made it from my pictures that I took from Cancun and the Dominican Republic, I used the background music from under the sea the little mermaid and I thought that was fitting from what I have to do. I used windows movie maker to put everything together and I really think that this shows how I am.
This was not the video I had intended to do. I tried to do one where I showed you around one of my favorite places, but clearly it was not movie makers favorite place. When ever I tried to edit it the program would stop working. So I found this one and chose to show people how to make paper cranes.
If I were to do this again I would try to be more descriptive as well as get better camera angles to show the folds. I like the music I chose to go with the clip and the effect I added. Hopefully the steps are able to be followed.
I would like to do a tutorial again and make it easy to follow and have step by step instructions. Maybe I would add text to it as well as the visual. I could also have another person with me following my steps and showing some possible mistakes along the way!
I love to sing but I do not think that I have the best voice in the world so I love to lip sync but every time I do it I get wayyyyyyy to into it. To keep myself from being embarrassed by myself I forced my friend to do it with me (it was not really forcing because she wanted to do it with me anyways). This was simple because all I did was record us doing the song and put it in windows movie maker and added a sepia filter because I love my skin color in a sepia tone I think it is just gorgeous. With that all said and done here is me and my friend Eniola “singing” Frank Ocean’s Thinkin bout you.
When I was looking through the video assignments I saw this and was hesitant because I do not watch scary movies like at all, but I was reading these out loud in my friends’ room and they were like it would be extremely fun so I decided why not. So I did the make a scene from a horror film. Since I was not sure what horror film to do I asked my friend Ashley what she thought and she said the iconic psycho shower scene for anyone that does not know what this scene is here it is:
I had to look that up as well haha but anyways to start I went to the library and rented a video camera (I did not know they did that). We went in to the shower and made the scene it took a couple of times but we ended up with a beautiful recreation of how the scene would be done in a college shower with friends. My friend did her own shower sounds and I thought they were pretty realistic mainly because she wanted to and I could not say no because she was helping me make the video. On the other hand I took the killing sound from YouTube which was called the Psycho Violin screech. I went into audacity and cut the screech sound to make it longer and put it on repeat. Lastly I made it in black and white so it would be more of what the time era was back in the 1960s. With all that said here it is!!
Whilst the Fandom Princess was on her annual winter season break from her scholarly estate, she decided that she would stop by some of the local villages on her carriage ride back home and take a look around at some of their ancient shops.
At one particular town, she stepped inside one dingy looking shop which was particularly cold and made of all cement. She walked up to the shopkeeper and inquired about if they have anything of special value that the Princess could look at and possibly be able to own herself.
The shopkeeper gave her a very curious look, yet she took the Princess behind the shop curtains. What the Princess found there was a tiny little box. It was no bigger than a music box.
“What is this?” the Princess asked the shopkeeper.
“’Tis a magic icebox,” the shopkeeper replied. She opened it and the room instantly was filled with a cold chill.
The Princess shuddered and took the tiny blue box in her right hand. The box was surprisingly warm. She looked inside of it and, although it was tiny, at the very center she could see a small clear cube.
“So this is what’s keeping it so cold?” she asked the shopkeeper, who merely nodded silently.
The princess was intrigued and decided that she would leave the shop with this mystical Ice box. She paid the amount of gold and silver, and hopped back in her carriage, holding the mystical item in her bag, eager to show the King and Queen of one of her new discoveries.
I feel like I have only been waiting for an assignment like this one FOREVER! Seriously, forever. In case y’all haven’t noticed, I kind of like to talk about myself. Moreover, I like to take pictures of myself and like looking into mirrors. What can I say, I’m a Cancer, and we can border on the line of self-absorbed (I’m not THAT bad though, I promise). Anyway, for this video assignment, I decided to do I Am Me, where I got to create a video about yours truly. Oh yeeeeah.
Well, I watched the example video and started to realize that I would need a song to act as my background music. First, I tried thinking about what exactly the anthem of my life would be. How would I choose? But then I figured that maybe it should be a song that I can identify a lot with. One that gets me moving, that I can listen to whether I’m happy or sad. Obviously, Coldplay had to be the answer! I settled on an excerpt from ‘Clocks’ my favorite song by Coldplay.
From there, I spent a HUGE amount of time deciding what exactly I wanted to put in the video. In the end, I decided that I wanted to include the important things that mattered to me: my family/my friends/my home/and just a few of the things that I hold near and dear to me. I had to track down a bunch of old photos of friends and of me and do a Google search for some common pictures that I wanted to include in the video, which took a bit of time, but in the end I think the video came out well
Halfway through, I decided that I wanted to add in some transitions as well, which turned out to be really easy using Window’s Movie Maker. I randomly picked and chose the ones I wanted, which is something that totally fits my personality. I like to mix it up once in a while. Lastly, was making sure that my title slides and words showed on the video, and that was also a success and way easy to do with the Movie Maker. All in all, this project was fun and pretty easy, although time consuming! Check it out:
For this assignment, we had to change the sound of a movie/scene kinda deal to add in a soundtrack of our own. Not very hard to do I don’t really know why it was four stars. I also think this is putting me way over what I needed to do for this week, but who cares.
I downloaded the video off of youtube. The original video is here: Well sort of original video. It was really a scene from Wedding Crashers that someone else downloaded.
Anyway, what I did to put this all together was start out in my iTunes library and just scrolled through songs until I found something that could be in a soundtrack. I actually chose a song that was part of another soundtrack (Get Him to The Greek) that I had in my library. Here’s a link to the soundtrack on youtube if you want to hear it by itself.
Anyway, after I found the song, I googled famous drinking scenes (seemed appropriate), and ended up picking Wedding Crashers because the song seemed appropriate for the montage of weddings scene from the beginning. I loaded the clip into iMovie after downloading it using iLivid (rips youtube videos), and then cut the sound out of the clip. Then I loaded the song into iMovie to play over the scene.
The only thing that I was disappointed with this was the quality of the youtube video. I couldn’t find a better one. Someone had poorly downloaded it or ripped it off a DVD, which I would have not been able to do any better, so I just went with this one. If you can overlook that, the combination works out very nicely, especially since it is a soundtrack/movie combination. Plus I think the only thing going on in that scene in Wedding Crashers is some other song playing anyway so it all kind of worked out. Here’s the final cut.
