Dakota’s Wish

http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/5-second-film/ (four and a half stars)

For this assignment I had to make a five second film. I decided to make it funny and use my dog Dakota again. I dressed her up in my clothes like she was trying to be me and then made the sign to go along with it. She kept knocking the glasses off of her face but I eventually got the shot. She was a good sport while I was trying to dress her up.

Surviving an Angry Customer

http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/survival-video/ (four and a half stars)

For this assignment I had to make a video of how to survive something. I made a video on how to survive an angry customer because that can be a big problem sometimes in the hotel business. Over time you get used to people being rude and learn better techniques of how to deal with them. This video is mainly for new employees so that they have a better understanding of what to do in this type of situation. Most of the time I would tell them to just come get me to deal with it, but they should also know the normal protocol.

Inanimate Motion

The assignment called Inanimate Motion (3 points) was to make an inanimate object to move by using power of video. I really wanted to do this assignment so I was keep thinking how I am going to relate to this to John Brown. I realized that it would be great to relate this assignment to his favorite book characters, which are Little Prince and rose. I did not have any figures of them so I printed the images of them and then put them on to the toilet paper tubes.

To do this assignment, I supposed to take photos and then put them together. Instead of doing that, I recorded the movement of Little Prince by pausing recording. After completed recording, I uploaded it to iMovie to put some texts to it. After that, as always, I uploaded it to Youtube and then put background to it.

Gone In An Instant

I only needed one more banana… and I found one! However, it was taken away horribly and tragically, too soon from this world.

Because I never leave the house without my face on, I had to put on my makeup and curl my hair. I went on a great quest to find my last banana, and there it was! Sitting at an underground cafe! I asked the sodaboys if I could have one, and they obliged. I was so happy, I had to take a video! But suddenly, it was stolen right out of my hand!

In order to share this news, I had to trim the video down to only one second long and add sound effects to further convey how sudden and horrifying this breach of trust was. I thought the world had my back, but fate is a cruel mistress indeed.

I will edit my interview and post it tomorrow, but for now I am inconsolable. I hope that you all will support me in this trying time.

Love always,

Dakota’s Tricks

http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/30-second-documentary/ (four and a half stars)

For this assignment I had to make a 30 second documentary. I chose to show the tricks that my wife Jane taught our dog Dakota. She taught Dakota to come on cue, sit, lay down, roll over, speak, and shake. We consider Dakota a member of our family and she makes us very happy, this is why I wanted to show her off in this documentary. It took a lot of tries to get this documentary just right. Not because Dakota wouldn’t do her tricks but because Jane used cheese as treats and she set the cheese on the table beside the space where Dakota was doing the tricks, so every time Dakota came down the stairs she would go straight to the table looking for cheese. Dakota was probably very tired after making this video because we had to keep sending her back up the stairs to shoot a new video.

This is John’s Story

As I worked through the video assignments, I realized that most of the related story of John Brown is that he loves sweet food and he has sweet teeth. So for this assignment, I chose to focus on his past. The days after when his mom and Mark (his step-father) got remarried. The assignment called This is my story (3 points) was perfect for telling the past story of John Brown.

I would not going to tell the story of his past (if I tell you the video I made would be useless). It was easy and fun assignment. I recorded myself with the camera that was attached to my computer and than uploaded to youtube and then put background music to it. Making a video did not take too long, put writing a script too me a while. But it was pretty enjoyable assignment.

People, Let Me Tell You About My Best Friend!

The “Special Person Montage” is a perfect way to pay tribute to the best guy I have ever known! Unlike most, he is always there for me, regardless! I can definitely see myself waking up to his cute face every day for the rest of my life. I think this may be true love! The prompt states: … Continue reading People, Let Me Tell You About My Best Friend!

Words…. Story…. Pictures

For this assignment I had to pick words that I could make a story out of and find pictures then create a video. I figured I would make something that I love most in life so I used the words 1. Margaret (I have to be included, of course) 2. love(s) 3.success 4. because 5. it 6. brings 7. diamonds 8.and 9. money. Little background on why this is my story, because my favorite things in life are money and diamonds and what better way to get them but by being successful. What does it entail for me to be successful? Well it could be from my job in art or my “other” profession ;)

George’s PSA Message

Protection – that’s my game – A gun that’s my weapon of choice even though any weapon can do harm and here is what I think about it all:

Second assignment making 10 of 15 stars! I got this – and remember Noir is dark and so are my video title pages!

Various pictures of just some of the weapons I use daily – you never know what’s coming until it’s there! The gun of course being my weapon of choice – and the best because it’s protection that is protected by our 2nd amendment! And I’d like to keep it that way – it’s my business!
