Love in three frames

This week was all about photography.  This assignment asked me to tell a love story using three pictures.  So here you go:

Holding your hand, I feel happy!
Holding your hand, I feel happy!

Holding your hand, I feel happy and excited!
Holding your hand, I feel happy and excited!
Still holding your hand, I feel happy, excited, and loved!
Still holding your hand, I feel happy, excited, and loved!

I went with the simple story of love which transcends time by showing children who can feel young love in a sense of having someone so they aren’t alone and afraid, to teenagers in love who are daring and explore love to feel that sense of excitement, to an older couple who come full circle to feeling that contentment and sense of security knowing someone cares about you in a way no one else does.

My Animal Planet

jack-o-pig

There is nothing like being down on the farm.  But this is what can happen when the jack rabbits get into the pig pen!

I am beginning to be able to navigate Microsoft paint well enough to accomplish these assignments with not too much difficulty.  For this one I cropped the head and tail off an image of a jack rabbit and placed it on an image of a pig.  Easy as pie!

Fun finding the differences

Can you find the six things that are different in these two images?

6 Differences

Foods from A – Z

wonderful food

This assignment was a joy ~ I love food!  I was able to find all the food images on Google Images.  Finding something that was a fairly common food item for each letter is trickier than you think.  I used upside down cake for U, quiche for Q, and an Asian soup entitled xiom for X. That is probably the only food item on my collage that I have not had.

It’s a Small World After All

For my last star for the week, I decided to complete the Larger Than Life Assignment. I really only needed 0.5 stars.. Why aren’t there any assignments that are worth 0.5 stars!

Take a picture of an everyday object and make it look larger than life.

I used my phone to take this picture, so the quality is not the greatest, but I used great angles! What made this assignment enjoyable was that I was taking pictures during work (in the DKC), and Martha walked in and exclaimed, “What are you doing on the floor!” She was a little confused as to why I was on my hands and knees, trying to get the perfect angle of objects, until I explained that it was for ds106. “Of course it would be for ds106!” Then it clicked.. I ended up taking pictures of a couple different objects, but as it turned out, the first picture I took was the best one, and the one I actually used for this assignment.

Afterwards, I thought it would have been cute if I had a little mini LEGO man to set on the edge of the chair, adding to the effect that it was a giant chair! Anyways, enjoy a chair made from Giantville!

Larger Than Life

The Rise of the Girolphin

Ever since the age of man we have found dolphins to be amazingly smart animals. However there is one thing holding them back from world domination…. their neck. However, in the future, due to genetic modification, dolphins will rise to a level where they rule the ocean with an iron fin. This change will come about due to their weakness being fixed by genetically combining them with giraffes.

The age of the Girolphins will come!

This was a visual assignment done for Ds106 worth 3.5 stars.

Pop Star Out of Place

144252356739853

For this visual assignment you have to take a pop star and put them in a setting that is out of the ordinary. It is worth 3 and a half stars. I chose Beyonce because she is always seen as this glamorous girl and by putting her in the setting of M.T. Everest gives her a new chilling scenery. I had a tough time editing this photo and after cutting, transparency, and this was the finished product!

My Kitty Cats!

I’ve been feeling really homesick for my cats. Now that I’m a junior, I no longer live on campus. Instead of living in an apartment, I’m currently living in a house of campus. This is the first time that I have ever lived in a house without a cat (only because one of my housemates is allergic). When I saw this assignment I got super excited. Make a collage of my pets to show how funny they can be? YES PLEASE.

My cat Taco is really strange. She has a thing for all men, whether it be my brother, my boyfriend, or my mom’s boyfriend. She loves to climb up on your shoulders (especially when you’re eating) and either rub all over you, or “groom” your hair/scalp with her teeth. You can see her perched on many shoulders in this collage.

My cat Aurora is pretty shy and quiet. She tends to stay away from us humans, but when she wants to snuggle she has to snuggle now! She’s also a huge fan of taking selfies! She loves to see herself in the camera. You’ll see one of her selfies here!

My last cat, Smokey, is our indoor outdoor cat. He much prefers the outside, so I don’t have many pictures of him. Before we got him, he was found in a feral colony, and he still acts like it too! When he’s inside he loves cuddles and chicken!

The making of this wasn’t hard at all! I just compiled photos from Facebook and my phone onto my computer, uploaded them onto www.befunky.com, and chose a collage!

A True Tail-Gate

dogcookout

Mr.Waggins fit in perfectly with the tailgate team. A nice soda for this hot dog and hopefully he gets a hot dog too! It may not be normal to wear shades and a button up shirt as a dog but that’s what makes Mr.Waggins the best addition to conversation and friendship at a tailgate.

This photoshopped picture came thanks to a google search for dogs and this cool dog being there  and he appears to be an attendant of a tailgate.  This was a visual assignment worth 2 stars for Ds106.

Color Changer

This assignment was quite simple. The main purpose of it was to change the color hues in a picture to make it look totally different. So I went through the photo library to look for a photo to edit. As I came across my photos from the caribbean cruise I took two summers ago, I thought it would be cool to see them in a different light.

IMG_9455So I decided to take this beautiful photo, with the white sand, black rocks and clear blue water, and turn it into something not so pretty. I chose a yellowed sand look with dark green waters and a gray sky. It’s definitely not a pretty picture anymore, but I’d have to say that it’s more interesting to look at!

The new picture!

Aruba!

Editing this picture wasn’t really all that tricky. I uploaded my original photo to www.picmonkey.com. From there I dialed up the temperature, down the saturation, and up the contrast!
