This is Ol Mick’s bag. As you know he is very much an alcoholic, so the tequila in his bag is a must. The blender and blending cup is just in case he gets sick of plain tequila and wants to make a mixed drink.

He has  his  black folder which is a journal for  crime investigations and his green journal which is a day to day/event to event kind of deal. Last he has his wallet and keys. The wallet is an essential artifact in his bag because it has his ID and money to purchase more alcohol. The keys he rarely gets to use because he is usually to drunk to drive.

My noir character would not realistically carry a bag around so instead I am going to describe what one could expect to find in his desk on a normal day.

Top of the desk can usually be expected to be covered in scattered newspapers. A typewriter sits next to a leather bound book in which Jack keeps his financial logs in. An ashtray sits on the right side of the desk next to the typewriter where Jack can easily ash his cigarette while he sits and sips his scotch. The room has no windows and only a dimly lit light that sits on the left corner of the table just next to the rotary phone. Inside the top drawer sits a loaded .38 snub nose revolver and some rarely used stationary and a pair of reading glasses. In the lower drawer, Jack keeps a bottle of scotch and a few dusty glasses in case he ever wants a drink and doesn’t want to break concentration long enough to walk downstairs.

Layla doesn’t have much in her purse. She’s not the kind of person to have one of those giant sack bags filled with everything in existence. She has candy because she has a very sensitive sweet tooth, choosing to eat anything from cake to chocolate. She has a compact and lipstick for those on the go touch ups and her reading glasses for when she needs to skim something or look through her ever eventful planner. Her wallet holds all of her money (too much in fact) and her credit cards that allow her to splurge and buy whatever she wants. Finally, she has hand sanitizer because, while not many people know this, she is a slight germaphobe. But you didn’t hear that from me.

In this visual assignment, I had to take two pictures and blend them together. Both pictures are downtown Fredericksburg. I thought this was fun.

Here is the what’s in your bag? assignment for three points. This assignment we were supposed to image what are characters would carry in their bags on a daily basis. In this, he carries eight items. The list includes a cellphone, an iPod with headphones, a Swiss army knife, a notebook with a pen attached, a water bottle, a wallet, Malboro cigarettes and a roll of toilet paper. All items are inside a brown messenger bag.

My friends and I were just sitting around when I came across the emoji assignment and I thought, why not?
