Holy Quarter Pounder, Batman!

by Thomas Pulsifer

For my final task from the assignment bank for this week, I chose the 2-star prompt of depicting a superhero in a dull, everyday situation. With Batman being my favorite superhero, the choice for which hero to have star in my picture was an obvious one. In the photo above, we see Batman (definitely NOT Bruce Wayne) grabbing a quick bite after a long night of crime-fighting. He’s trying to ask for extra ketchup packets, but he’s a bit shy.

Once again, trying to apply photography advice to pre-existing photos is a bit impractical, but I did mess with the lighting to make sure Batman matches his surroundings. Throwing typically stoic heroes into mundane scenarios is hilarious, and hopefully Bru– I mean, Batman, is able to procure his additional condiments.

New Dog on the Block

In another adventure of visual assignment’s I needed to create an image of a superhero doing some everyday task. Although it is because the unfortunate passing of my dog recently, I’ve had dog on the brain. Today is one of those days that Alfred took a day to himself so Bats had to do some chores himself.

The hardest part was actually trying to freehand an acceptable ‘G’ for “The Dog Knight”. Although it is not my best job removing the dog from his original picture, it was more difficult that I thought it would be with his white fur blending into the rest of the picture at the time. It just works as xp on my way towards leveling up my photo editing skills.

She-Ra on her Coffee Break

2 Stars

What happens when She-Ra takes a break from fighting the Horde? She likes a good coffee just like the rest of us!

Even though She-Ra is not from this planet, Starbucks is the most recognizable coffee brand. It took some time getting used to GIMP again and remembering how to use the applications. I was also going to try to put the coffee in the hand with the sword, but I couldn’t figure out how to get the sword to disappear without getting rid of the image in the back.

Superhero Saturdays

I chose this project because I love superheroes. Especially Marvel superheroes. I thought it would be fun to use my drawing, photoshopping, and overall computer skills to create an awesome picture. I chose to draw spiderman because he is my all-time favorite superhero.

This superhero gets caught doing what..?

Image result for superhero sitting on a toilet

My assignment was to find a picture of a superhero doing normal life things, this is Deadpool doing normal life things. Everyone goes to the bathroom. Sometimes people even end up losing a couple pounds. As you can see this relates to people heavily because most people have something (phone or book) in there hands to keep them occupied.

Superheros do what?!?

When told to get a picture of a superhero doing normal life things, I figured that I could do it. Despite me knowing absolutely nothing about any superheroes. This picture I stumbled upon Superman minding his own business vacuuming his room.

Mutant

One of my all time favorite superheros is Jean Grey from X Men. She has telepathic and telekinetic abilities and is considered to be one of the most powerful in the mutant world. So here is a GIF of her flirting with Scott. https://media.giphy.com/media/xhU7RAjd5Bk5O/giphy.

The Life Of A Zombie

When I first saw this assignment I immediately thought of this commercial:

Sooooo, for this assignment i decided to make a gif out of this commercial by giffing the zombie on the bus! Here is my final gif of the life of an every day zombie:

giphy-1

I thought making a gif out of this would be too funny because its so like unusual, yet hilarious that a zombie is just chilling on the bus with some dumbass humans lol.

Let me know if you enjoy it!

Assignment Bank 6 #DS106

I did “The Life of a Superhero” Visual assignment and came up with this result.

WorkZone

When hulk doesn’t have any money and isn’t saving the world, guess what he does…that’s right some construction. All I did was grab two pictures and Photoshop them together.

If you want to try it yourself and do way better than I did, you can find it here, http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/the-life-of-a-superhero/

Superman’s Real Kryptonite

For my superhero related assignment, I chose to do the Life of a Superhero post where you had to post a picture of a superhero in an everyday life event.

When looking a the photography group suggestions this was one of my favorites because I could just picture Captain America at the laundromat or the Hulk going to the bank. Overall, the idea of this assignment made me just laugh. For this I chose to make a GIF with Superman (the Man of Steel version) sadly hovering by his sink of dirty dishes from the week. I know for me, dishes are the one chore that I cannot stand doing so I decided to put my kitchen sink to use before I tackled the chore myself. I chose this specific version of Superman because I thought he looked pretty sad and that’s how I feel when I know I need to do something with my dishes, even if it’s just shoving them into the dishwasher so that I can forget them for a little longer. Also, I liked the gift because it adds some of the “super” back into this assignment about superheros.
