For 1 and 1/2 stars!
It’s simple. Choose your favorite photo you’ve taken and tell everyone why you love it so much.
How do I pick my favorite photo? There are so many!
I picked this photo because this is my happy place. This is the pond at my family’s cabin in Vermont.
My mom is originally from Vermont, so we go up there every year to see my family. My time in Vermont is the time I unwind and get away from the world. The cabin is all solar and gas powered and there isn’t any cell service. So you really are away from the world. The pond is spring-fed, so its about 60 degrees! Its always so relaxing to go up to the pond and stick your feet in while you read a good comfort book.
The pond was easier to pick as my favorite picture than I thought. I sat and reflected on what calmed me the most, and my mind went instantly to the calming effect of Vermont.
I guarantee you, no one will guess what my favorite photo is. This is the type of thing that no one really thinks about. Here’s some hints: I never took this photo, and I never edited this photo. This is something I have in person as well as in photo. Lastly, this photo contains so much power in it, that it’s saved me from many situations. Can you guess it?
If you guessed the photo, you get 100 points and some cake because no one ever can. This is my favorite photo. The reverse UNO card. It’s such a wonderful sight. You might be wondering, why is this so powerful? What makes a picture of this card your favorite picture? Well first of all, my favorite color is blue. So that makes my soul already happy just from that. But to fully understand why this photo is amazing, try to understand through these following scenarios:
My friend and I are were in an argument recently. She thinks I’m smarter because I’m able to understand difficult concepts. I think she’s smarter because she is able to understand ALL concepts, regardless of difficulty. She then tells me, “You’re incredibly smart.” Then, as a rebuttal, I just send this picture. My friend doesn’t know how to respond to it, so she says, “No you!” But the damage has already been done. The card has been played. This ends the argument in just a few texts after.
Or in this situation, my brother calls me stupid over a disagreement. He tells me I don’t know what I’m talking about. So then I send it. I send the infamous UNO card. He tries to rebut my claim, but it’s done. The UNO card has just spoken, and it has said that it’s HE that is stupid and doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Even if they send a picture back, I’ll just keep sending it. That’s a game I won’t ever lose, I will always be able to get the last word by using my UNO card.
As much as I seem like a goof, it’s true. This one photo has saved me out of so many situations, arguments, and debates. When I first saw this assignment, I didn’t really know which photo to pick. I was kind of in a debate in my head. Then, I thought of all that this photo has done for me and my love for it. I realized that this was the photo. This photo of a blue, reverse UNO card is my favorite photo.

This is a goofy picture of my mom going through chemo, yet still loving life and having fun with her new look.
Hello, world! I would like to introduce you to my dodge, Puchi!
Puchi is 12 years old, and she is a Chihuahua mutt mix. Yes, I know what EVERYONE is probably thinking. Why does your dodge look like a little black sausage? I honestly do NOT know! Since I don’t know her other half to her breed, I believe that type of dodge had a sausage looking body and genetically speaking, so would Puchi.
Puchi has been apart of my life for about 10 years now and I honestly can’t remember how I lived without her. She is super lazy, silly, weird, and she is even afraid of her own farts. Yes. I said that correctly. My dodge will fart in her sleep, and jump out of her bed in complete terror. She will also move her beds to different places in the dorm so I can almost NEVER find her.
This is my second semester having her live with me on campus as a registered Emotional Support Animal. Honestly, she doesn’t really notice when I’m in need of emotional support. But when I need her she is very patient, calm, gentle, and is always there to cheer me up. All I have to do is look at her face!
This picture was taken on September 2nd, 2017. On this day, my sisters and I wanted to take professional pictures by a friend. And so, my sisters, Puchi, and I all took lovely pictures in the wilderness.
This picture is one of my favorites because, well for starters Puchi and I both look super cute! But the main reason is that when Puchi is annoying, disrespectful, or forgetful that she is supposed to use the bathroom outside, I can easily look at this picture and remember my cute, wonderful, silly, dodge who makes me smile, and laugh so hard by running around my dorm farting up a storm!
This is the original link to the assignment.
I chose to take a picture of one of my all time favorite movies Top Gun from 1986. This assignment asked me for my favorite picture and why I love it so much, so I decided to create my favorite picture within seconds. The process of this assignment was I took a picture of the movie and uploaded it to my computer and then wrote up my summary and tagged the appropriate tags so it will show up on the Assignment Bank. I love Tom Cruise and the action within this movie. This movie also relates to the course of our theme for ds106, The 80s! This assignment was fun because I could create one of my new favorite photos for this assignment. Here is a link to a blog page where it talks about why Tom Cruise was the perfect candidate/actor for this movie and I could not agree more!
Chelsea; she was my best friend, my everything. I got her when I was 6 which meant we grew up together. She was my therapy dog and was always by my side helping me with whatever I needed. The picture is the last one I have of her enjoying life before she was no longer here
I chose a One Direction concert because even though they promised that they would get back together, I don’t think that will be happening any time soon. Thus photoshopping myself into a concert that already happened. Their music will never get old to me.
