I did this Dream Vaca assignment for 3.5 stars. I already had a Dream Travels board, but I just added to it for this assignment!

My dream vacation is and always will be a week in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I’ve been going since I was 2 years old, and haven’t missed a year since. It is without a doubt my favorite place in the world, and I will never stop going! Even when I have children of my own I will make every effort to take them every summer just like I had the ability to do.

This trip will definitely be possible for me, as I have been going for years, so I know what needs to be done!

Money is obviously needed for any vacation…

   1. food (we usually cook in every night so everyone brings their own breakfast, lunch, and a dinner or 2 they will cook)

   5. beach chair, towels, cooler, umbrella, surfboard, bodyboards
   6. etc….
3. Leave morning of, check in/get key to house, and bam! Vacation has begun!

I did the assignment where you create a pinterest for a character. I chose to create   my Pinterest board for my western character, Mrs. Dean, who is a homesteader’s wife. I did this by first starting a board that was just for her and then searching for different things that I think she would like. I found a lot of stuff about gardening, cooking, cleaning, western fashion, family, and even helpful homesteader tips. It is a really great visual display of her lifestyle and personality.

For this assignment Sally is applying to a job in Fredericksburg, VA. She’s actually applying to be a bartender at Capital Ale! Her resume is a little rough around the edges but she’s surprisingly super smart and active! Here’s to hoping she gets the job. All I did was use Word to produce this resume and posted it below.

This assignment seemed like a fun one to complete. It required me to create my dream room using pictures from pinterest. In order to complete this assignment the first step I had to do was create a Pinterest account. That was pretty simple but, then I had to figure out how it all worked. I figured out that I had to create a new “board” to be able to add or “pin” pictures. So, I titled the board “Dream Room” and began pinning pictures that I thought would help build my dream room. To start my dream room board I keyed into the pinterest search “purple room”. I chose this search because my favorite color is purple and I have always thought it would be cool to have a color coordinated room. As such, I feel the photos I pinned to my dream room board reflect this idea. First, I chose a picture of a room with walls that were painted in light purple and the curtains and pillows matched in color. The other main color in this room was white and I really liked the combination of these colors. So, for the other pictures I pinned, I chose to stay with the white and purple theme. I pinned a picture of a Monarch Butterfly chandelier that was purple and white because I love butterflies and it reminds me of my grandmother who also loved butterflies. Next, I decided to find an image of a large desk that would fit the theme of my dream room. Once I did find one I liked, I pinned the image to my board. In my dream room I would definitely have a large desk because the one I have now always seems too small to be able to do my work. This is because when I sit down to complete homework there never seems to be enough room to spread my papers out and have my computer on the desk at the same time which makes it difficult to get work done. So, I think a large desk would help solve this problem. Other images I pinned stuck with the purple and white theme of my dream room and I felt would fit nicely. Some of the items would provide useful functions such as, the purple drawer set, but other images such as the glitter outlet plate I feel would just add a bit to the room. You can see my dream room below!

By completing this assignment I found that you can really spend a lot of time on pinterest and not realize it! The pictures just continue to pop up and seem endless! However, I learned a lot about the pinterest site and found this assignment to be pretty fun. This assignment was worth three and a half stars contributing to this week’s 10 star requirement.

For this assignment I decided to create my own search engine. I used the X-Ray Goggles and remade the Google page. It was pretty complicated because I could not for the life of me figure out how to change the Google logo, so now it’s a dingy little button. But I did have fun changing all the smaller tabs. The search engine is designed for college students who have procrastinated way too much this semester and need a hand in finding answers online. I did like making it though and hope you guys like reading what I changed everything to.

For my last web assignment this week I selected to do create your own room which is worth 3 1/2 stars bringing my final total to 10 1/2 stars. This assignment tells you to make a pinterest board of what your dream bedroom would be and then explain it. You can find my pinterest board here. First off I selected this really cool bohemian sheets and comforter because I absolutely love the color maroon. The second picture is a really nice set up for a bed with the two lamps that would be great for reading at night. I also found these cute like glass balls filled with plants that I think would add a different feel to the room. Of course I also had to pick a wall of shoes. Those shelves though would be great for anything; purses, bags, etc. I also LOVE to take pictures so the photo wall and the lights with photos are really neat concepts for one wall of my dream room. If I am going to go to medical school, I also need a place to study and I really liked the set up of this desk I selected with the shelves on the wall. Lastly, I picked a little couch area next to a window which I would also use for studying!

I really don’t believe in the Loch Ness Monster, but going to Scotland is something I have always dreamed of doing. For one of my web assignments this week entitled Dream Vacation that is worth 3 1/2 stars (total now is 7 stars). This assignment tells you to make a board on Pinterest with all pins of things you would like to see, do, eat, etc on your vacation. I selected Scotland. Honestly, I have no idea why I have always wanted to go there. It looks absolutely beautiful and they live such a simple lifestyle there (from what I have heard). It is so weird, but if I had to pick a place to go it would be here. They do speak both English and Scottish Gaelic here so I feel like I would get around okay. The food, doesn’t look super appetizing, but this trip would be for the views, not the food. Hope you like my board! It made me really sad that I probably won’t get to go until after I am out of medical school (and out of debt… so like when I am 60).

I completed the Buzzfeed quiz creator assignment. I wanted to do this because I am a sucker for the buzzfeed quizzes. Every time I see them on Facebook, I can’t help but click on them. My quiz is a personality quiz to see which female character on One Tree Hill the quiz taker is most like. I chose One Tree Hill because it is my favorite show, so I know a lot about the character’s lives and personalities.

The Buzzfeed website gives step by step instructions for creating a personality quiz. I had to make an account and then click the create tab. Once it pulled up, it was all up to me. I had total creative control. I got to pick the title, the results, the pictures, and the questions. It also let me assign the different repsonses to the different characters in order to generate end quiz results.

I chose to complete this assignment because the image of the paint brush sparked some good memories for me. The image reminded me of a painting software that I used while in elementary school during computer time and I always enjoyed my time playing with it. So, I thought it would be fun to try to find a similar online computer art tool. So, while completing my daily create the other day I found the online tool I wanted share with you. I call it the Triangle painter! It is very similar to the painting software I previously used but instead of painting just lines, it will only paint using triangles. It is really fun to use and actually for me, when I gave it a try it was a nice little break that I found to be relaxing. The triangle tool can be found here and you can give it a try! It is a pretty simple and straight forward tool to use. As such, in order to use it you first must choose the size of your triangle grid for your image, then you can choose the color you would like to start your piece of artwork with. You do this by clicking in the lower left corner where you see the square box of color (typically black when you open up the tool). Once you click on this, a box should pop up that provides you with many more color options. Once you have your chosen color you can begin painting and to change the color just go back and click on the color box in the corner. If you make a mistake don’t worry, you won’t have to start over. Just use the eraser by clicking on the eraser icon next to the color box in the left corner of the screen. It may seem simple to draw what you would like, but by only painting triangles it makes it a bit trickier to paint what you were aiming for! This tool is great if you need to create a small image or painting for a class assignment or if you just want to take a few minutes to relax and have a little fun. To give you an idea of what a picture created by this tool would look like I added an image below that I created using the triangle tool!
