In the spirit of pumping up activity for the Daily Create I issued a challenge to see who was strong enough to do one every day for a week. That is the first part of the challenge, and to do this assignment, you should do the same. Then, and here is where it gets interesting, my friends, is that you are to make a mashup of content that other people created for each fo the seven days, and to make an interesting story out of it. How you do it is up to you, but you should use the media ...

Combine separate previously recorded audio and video files to create a video mashup of a talking pet. Use Audacity or another audio recording software and Movie Maker or another video editing software. The segments from each should be edited to deliver your message from the talking pet. For this assignment, I used an audio assignment of my host character giving a morning message to the village people. I also had a video of my dog barking while I was talking to him, which was used as part of a video assignment. The original audio and video segments were uploaded to ...

Use a video that you created in DS106 and blend it with a movie of similar content. Use Movie Maker or another editing tool to splice and dice a scene(s) from the two movies so they appear as one. The new combined video should be portrayed as before and after or is it after and before? You decide. The video should be between 3-4 minutes. Get creative.

Rotoscope a dance or sport secene. You need to make single images out of a video sequence, like with an Animated Gif. After this you draw just the outlines of the people involved in the action. The simplest tool is an image editor like Gimp and the path tool (any kind of pen and tablet would be better). Add a layer and alter the transparency the way you can see the underneath image. Use at least 6 frames per second.

Take a couple different clips from some related videos. Change them around to make a new plot, and then remove the audio. Overdub the characters to add some audio and change the story even further. Don't forget to play with the music too!

Have you ever been asked a question like, “who would win in a fight Batman or Spiderman?” Do you feel like the answer to one of these questions is so obvious to you but not to others? Show people your choice then, take two fictional characters from separate universes and create a scenario of what their battle may look like. You can use any media format to present this battle: image, video even audio if you can somehow make that work. Here’s my example depicting Kisuke Urahara vs. Marian Cross: http://vimeo.com/41235764

Broadway has been around for many years. It is like the movies where you can go and enter an imaginary world for a few hours. Remix your favorite song from a Broadway musical to show the different covers that have been created over the years.

For this assignment, you are to take videos of your own personal day, or take videos that are in your phone already and mash them with an audio of a movie trailer. Any movie trailer can be used, but the more creative and the more the movie matches the themes of the videos, the more fun it will be.

I chose my three favorite holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving and St. Patricks day (not really a holiday but still fun)) and stitched them together in an image using the online photo shop tool Free Online Photoshop. I used cartoon images simply for the reason that despite the fact that they have different …
