I took this prompt and twisted it to fit into my group project. As the protagonist would eventually need this product….
This one was pretty fun to make, I incorporated some interesting sound effects into it to make it less monotonous.

I created a radio commercial about a new portable copy and paste tool. I related this invention to Molly Ringwald on the Breakfast Club. I created a voice memo of both my voice and background music. Then I combined them into GarageBand. I hope you enjoy this commercial!

The “DS106 Radio Commercial” assignment was to “Create a commercial featuring an item that you have invented that would be extremely useful to your favorite movie or TV Show character. Try to be as creative and abstract as possible. Must include sound effects or background music and be at least 20 seconds in length.”
I decided to use this assignment toward the required radio show work for the week. I created a commercial to be played on the radio station that I am working on. The commercial is done by my character, Mia, who encourages people (especially secret agents) to check out their local library!
I created the commercial using Audacity and freesound.org. I chose music that seemed to fit the mood of the commercial. You can listen to the finished product below.

For this assignment, I decided to invent an item to help one of my favorite secret agent characters, Jason Bourne. He had problems remembering his past in all of the movies, so I created a products to blow all of those troubles away. Introducing… the recaller!
The hardest part of this assignment was inventing the product to advertise. I knew that I wanted to make a product for Jason Bourne, so what better product for him than a memory recaller!
I modeled the “recaller” after the neuralyzer in the Men in Black movies that erase your memory. I directly said Jason Bourne’s name in the commercial because he is the reason why this product was invented. The product is certainly affordable at eight low payments of $299.99. That’s nothing to successful spies who have memory loss.
I recorded the commercial to sound kind of like an infomercial where there is always a host that demonstrates how the product is used. I included a clicking sound for the recaller (which was really just a camera shutter sound). I included sounds from an audience like “oohs” and “aahs”. There is music playing in the background that sounds like it could be in a secret agent movie. I am keeping with the secret agent theme because this commercial may be in my group’s radio show, “Super Secret Opinions.” The commercial is very cheesy and silly, but it will make the audience laugh (hopefully).

BEHIND THE SCENES
For my groups radio show, we decided to have our characters appear in both the bumper and the commercials! So, with this in mind, I created a commercial starring Wisteria, advocating for a unique little fashion popup called Espiodécolletage! This took around two hours to do, but it was really fun.
STEPS TO SUCCESS
— Wrote our the script to the commercial
— Booted up Audacity
— Recorded lines for Wisteria and added the respective voice masking filters (HPF’s, LPF’s, Amping).
— Found a suitable music track that I felt added to the mood (Gay Spirits).
— Recorded Customer Endorsements
— Recorded Disclaimer at the end and sped up the audio.
— Saved as a WAV and uploaded to Soundcloud
And that was it, really! Doing this was a really fun time and way to flex some creative muscles. I wouldn’t shy away from doing this again!
For this audio assignment, I decided to do a commercial advertising a (fake) spy school course that’s being held this summer. I thought it was kind of nostalgic, because when I was a kid I went to this “spy class” at a local Borders (remember when those existed?) and I got a free book and some spy sunglasses. I wanted to expand upon that idea and do a whole school advertisement that would take up the whole summer!
To do this assignment, I first chose some spy-sounding music on the free sound website. I then paired it with my voice, where I tried my best to sound enthusiastic about this fake spy school. I used Audacity to create the masterpiece, and uploaded it to soundcloud, where it is available for your listening pleasure. Hope y’all enjoy!
For the radio bumper promo I basically just explained a quick overview of what our radio show will be like. I created this bumper on audacity, it’s getting easier to upload audio through it every time I use it. Our radio bumper will be unique in which we will be explaining why rappers have there own creative name just like secret agents. We will also be talking about the drama in the rap game right now as its very controversial. For our last topic we will be putting our own opinions on the latest news and hip/hop songs. I enjoyed making this bumper and can’t wait until we finalize our radio show.
The product everyone is talking about…The hypercharger!! I really had to use my imagination for this assignment as I had to commercialize a new invention. I had fun with my roommate Daley on this commercial as he is a car freak and talked about his experience with the product. As you can tell in my past assignments I am really enjoying these audio assignments way too much. I can’t wait for the next one. Thank you for listening!
For this assignment, I created a commercial for the radio show my group is doing. I thought of what to advertise for probably a solid 5 minutes, and then I thought of what I really wanted right now…..which is a nap! Who wouldn’t want a nap!? And why not advertise it, because maybe if more people napped, there would be a higher chance of world peace. I created this commercial using ccmixer with the audio file “Throb_On Instrumental”. This was 3 and 1/2 stars, and I created it again with Logic. I layered audio recordings on top of each other and then bounced it onto soundcloud.
