In internet fame, especially among the anime community, there is a concept known as GAR. It came originally from a typo on 4chan, after the Fate/Stay Night anime aired where someone exclaimed that a character known as Archer was so incredibly awesome that he was now “Gay for Archer.” However, the speaker mistyped, and instead produced “gar for archer.” Ever since, awesome and badass things were known as “GAR.” Of course, then there’s this fish…

The Last One:
This assignment is quite similar to others I’ve done, but I really enjoy the concept. In case you can’t see anything different with this picture I’ll come out and say it: Top right hand corner, Waldo. He’s apparently smart enough to know he’s in a movie, but not smart enough to know not to mess with Bane.
Since my previous assignment had a mediocre to bad shop, I took some extra care with this one. I made sure the image I used of Waldo was good, manually erased all the excess white around his body, shrunk him down, and even adjusted the hue to make him blend in with the scene better. I think the extra work paid off.
I took images from good of a masher, tomatoes, tomatoes over the stove, getting it ready to label it to Campbell’s soup and the soup into a bowl. I put together all the photos in order onto paint. I then saved this image and uploaded it into Dumper. Where it automatically gets turned into a sketch drawing. I like this feature because it can turn any picture into a drawing, and for this assignment it makes it look old like the original plans of Campbells tomato soup.
For this I used the paint program to create my venn pop culture. So in the Three big circles I had funny at the bottom circle, actor in the left circle, and brown in the right circle. Then in the middle of Actor and Funny I put in WILL FERREL. For the middle of Actor and Brown I put Aishwarya Rai (she is an Indian Actress in Bollywood). For the middle of Brown and Funny I put the stand up comedian RUSSEL PETERS. Lastly a person that I think is Funny, an Actor, and is Brown is AZIZ ANSARI.
Of course, you know me by now… My iconic image would be a penguin. I created this in Paint. I drew out a penguin and colored in Paint the rest of it. This penguin would be used on any site of mine to represent me, as I love penguins for some odd reason, and anyone who knows me well enough would know I would have nothing but a penguin haha.
I used the the zombify program to edit a picture of myself into a zombie. I had fun going through each type of zombie eyes, mouth, noses, skins, etc. and picking what I thought worked best.
Despite my being German, I have never been to Germany–there is hope of this changing soon,though, if my parents move to Germany this year. (WOO!) In honor of never having been to the Motherland, and of potentially going, I did my “Place I’ve Never Been” Assignment on Germany. This particular picture is of Dom, a cathedral in Cologne, Germany. The beautiful structure dominates the skyline. The other landmark that is evident in this picture is Hohenzollern bridge (also, in Cologne).
I uploaded it and edited it in Photoshop. I used various different tools to achieve the poster-esque look. I also darkened the picture, to give it more of an eerie feel. Comments and constructive criticism are always welcome.
