My Autobiography Cover

For this assignment, I tried toĀ reflectĀ on myself before I started. I came up with the idea i wanted it to include water, sun, and sand. Then once I got the picture I wanted into pic Monkey, I spruced it up changing some of theĀ contrastĀ and saturation. After just looking at my finished picture for a while the idea for title just came to me and I ran with it.

Could it be a Vampire?

This assignment I had a great time doing, so i snapped a random picture of my girlfriend when we were on skype and then took it to the next level. I used pic monkey to pale her skin, add blood, add veins, put some shadows and texture in. I ended up with a pretty convincing Vampire.

Radio Show Poster

So this week before we finish our radio show project we were prompted to make a poster advertising our Radio Show. I scoured the internet for a picture relating to autumn andĀ HalloweenĀ  but also less on the spooky side of things. The poster I made in Pic Monkey by changing some of the contrast settings etc and adding the text to complete the poster.

The Truth About Bridesmaids

Truth about Bridesmaids

Alright, so maybe you won’t shit your pants, but you might pee a little–I did. (Plus, the poop reference is just too relevant to pass up.) The first time I saw Bridesmaids, I didn’t know what was happening to me. Seriously. I lost it. One of the funniest movies I have seen in a hot minute. And I love that it is women being this funny–especially the poop scene, and also the airplane scene. Kills me. Every time.

I was inspired to do this particular movie (for this assignment) because I caught it on TV last weekend when I went home (since I don’t have cable at my house here) and I was reminded about how much I love it. To get my picture to look like this, I, first, found a picture online in the handy, dandy Google images, and edited it with Picasa (yes, Google rules my world). I used the “retouch” tool to edit out the title in the original image, and then used the “text” tool to edit in the “truth.” This was the outcome. I like.

As always, feel free to leave me some constructive criticism. It’s always welcome!

My ds106 radio show poster

Our group radio show theme is Halloween; each group member will tell a story related to Halloween. One of my group members will tell a funny Halloween story, while other member will tell a romantic Halloween story. Similarly, one will have introduction and the other will end up the show by talking about the Halloween itself. In this regard my contribution is to tell a horror story and use horror sound effects to best reflect the situation. My horror story is not my Halloween experience as it is with my some of group members since I have never celebrated Halloween in my country; but I believe it is a good chance to learn about it through this radio show.

This is my ds106 radio show poster; as our group theme is Halloween thus, we will be telling horror stories. So I thought this poster would be perfect. I took UMWā€˜s campus photo and I added horror elements to it in http://www.picmonkey.com/ with its Halloween special section. We have not come out with a group name yet therefore I put group one.

What is in my head?

Through this design I shared the important matters in my mind, this design was psychologically good because I got to think more about myself and my current concerns. I downloaded cartoon characters from Google; I then used paint for editing them. On the other hand, I took a photo of UMW campus and I made a silhouette of my head in GIMP; I combined that with the cartoon characters, each representing my thoughts.

Call Me Maybe

Bad Guy Calling Card

This was the bad guy calling card (2 star) assignment, and frankly, bad guys have been a fascination of mine as of recent. (So, duh.) This calling card is obvious given the recent relevancy of Batman. This is a business card for one of my favorite superĀ villains–Poison Ivy–who uses her love potions and deadly kiss to seduce and (try to) kill Batman. What a bad bitch.Ā Ā Not only is she hot, but she clearly has brains too–the best kind of hot girl.

So, anyways, to achieve this look, I surfed the interwebs for the perfect picture of poison ivy (the plant) and found a drawing of it, which worked out perfectly. To give it the poisonous touch that I desired, I used Picasa (and all of its lovely features) and added the neon effect. Initially, that didn’t show up as much I liked, so I saturated the crap out of the picture until it looked like this. Anyways, hope you likeeee.

Zombieland

I used this website http://creative.avatarlabs.com for zombifing the photo. Because I couldn’t download my zombified photo from the website directly due to my laptop security system, I used PicPic editor to capture the photo. Then I used Gimp for cropping it.

This is culture for me

This photo shows from what culture I came from. I downloaded the afghan girl photo from Google and I draw the Afghanistan map. Then I edited the girl’s photo to fit as the exact shape of the map. On the other hand, I wrote Afghan in Persian language to reflect more about the culture. for editting process I used GIMP and Paint.

Cartoon head

I downloaded Vin dieselā€˜s photo from Google, then I crap the Popeye the sailor manā€˜s head in GIMP and put it in Vin Diesel’s head. I found the character of the actor on the movie and the cartoonā€˜s character similar, thus I taught it would be a good idea to do this. It was fun design, I enjoyed doing it.
