A Moving Object?!

Victor seemed fascinated by the new mouse a friend bought him for his birthday. So much so that he decided to record a video of its fancy little lights.

I used my iPhone 4 to record the video and then uploaded it to my laptop into Windows Movie Maker before uploading it to YouTube from there.

This assignment was worth 3.5 stars.

Lip-Sync!

I decided to try my hand at lip-syncing to my favorite song: What You Know by Two Door Cinema Club. I used Windows Movie Maker to record both audio and video and YouTube provided the audio.

Enjoy!

Tutorial: How to Create Your Own Lip-Sync Video!

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to give a quick, written tutorial on how to create video of yourself lip-syncing your favorite songs! Now, you may be wondering how you’re supposed to start on such a daunting task… well, no worries! That’s what I’m here for.

To begin, make sure you have some type of video recording software on hand. If not, Google something! I used Windows Movie Maker and it worked like a charm. Other than that, you may or may not have to record your audio separately. With Windows Movie Maker, my webcam and microphone worked in tandem to both record my background audio and capture my rugged charm.

If you’ve got that all squared away, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. If this is a song you’ve got completely memorized, feel free to ignore this step, but if not, it always (ALWAYS!) helps to have a lyric video pulled up on YouTube or have the lyrics otherwise in front of you. Because you’ll be looking into the camera anyways (or near it, at least), you can easily disguise the fact that you’re reading within a few takes.

Go ahead and record yourself with the music playing in the background or add it in manually later*, And once you’ve finished recording, save the file to your computer and then to a clearly marked folder. From there, you can either keep this treasure to yourself or upload it to YouTube for the world to appreciate!

* For those interested in manually adding in music later, the quickest and best way is to use some form of YouTube to MP3 conversion site (there are probably tens if not hundreds). Once you’ve shared the link to the video and downloaded the file, click and drag it into your video recording software and sync it up properly with your video! And there you have it, folks. Simple, easy, and effective.

Toby: A Dogumentary

Yes, yes you did just read that title correctly. I decided to think a little out of the box for this one. When I read the assignment I had one person on my mind that I thought would fit the description perfectly. Unfortunately, I would have had to go home to be able to do it. I didn’t have the opportunity to go home this week, I have too many dance things going on right now. So my next best option? One of my dance choreographers, Chelsea’s new dog Toby! She decided to adopt a dog from the Fredericksburg SPCA, not only to gain a companion but also to give a pup a new chance at life! If you want to hear a little more about Chelsea’s new dog and some adorable videos and pictures of Toby check it out here:

The making of this video really wasn’t all that hard! First, I compiled all of the videos and photos that I wanted to use onto my computer. Then I uploaded them all into iMovie. Next, I strung them all together in the order that I wanted. Next, I recorded Chelsea speaking her parts (she wasn’t interested in being on camera). I put the recordings where I wanted them, then I chose a song to use as the background music. I thought Happy Together by The Turtles was a perfect choice for the new bond between Chelsea and Toby! I hope you all enjoy my little dogumentary!

Redskins Pump-up Video

Assignment (4.5 stars)

For this assignment, I made a video using different highlights from the Washington Redskins.

To complete this assignment, I first found several different videos on YouTube that had the clips I used above. I then used a Youtube converter to download them into iMovie. I then found this song, that I thought went well with the clips, and also downloaded it into iMovie. I then edited the clips together and overlaid the music, before saving it to my computer. I attempted to upload the video to WordPress, but for some reason it would not upload. Instead, I uploaded it to my YouTube account.

Dennis’ Night of Debauchery

InTheLandOfDrunks, IAmRarelyFound. However, WhenIAmFound, IAmDeeperThanMost. MyNightOfDebaucheryCreatedPictures, ThesePhotographsShallLive, WhileTheMemoryIsGone. IHopeYouEnjoyMyNightOfDebauchery, ISureDid…

This is a 4.5 star assignment for Ds106 titled HangoverAssignment. It required many poses for photos and of course some imovie editing magic. I picked a song from a free to public mixtape from the artist Chris Webby titled Weirdo, it fit the party atmosphere and also how weird Dennis becomes though his night of debauchery.

Grand Jete Compilation Video!

I was pretty excited when I saw this assignment (for 4.5 stars), I’m not going to lie. As soon as I read the details I knew that I wanted to do it and relate it to my host character! Just as a refresher, my host character is The Headless Ballerina. And why is she headless? Well in her last dance performance, she took a grand jete (leap) right off the stage and sliced her neck open in a pile of lighting equipment. So I decided to make a compilation video to show everyone exactly what a grand jete is!

The making of this assignment was really easy, however it definitely took some time. I followed the one tutorial posted, however I had already figured that that was the best way to do it on my own. Honestly, the first part took me the longest to complete, I went onto YouTube and looked for videos to use in my compilation. Finding videos that I thought were appropriate for this assignment took some time, but I think I found a good mix! Next, I downloaded them all to my computer using savefrom.net. Then, I uploaded all of the videos into iMovie on my MacBook. I edited down the clips that I needed to, then strung them all together. Then, I removed the original sound from all of the clips, and added in The Vitamin String Quartet’s rendition of Just Dance by Lady GaGa for the background music! Then voila, the finished product was uploaded to my YouTube channel! Hope you all enjoyed it!

Zombramony

Welcome friends and family to the Zombramony of LaNoir and Roary. You may remember La Noir from the Smooth & Spooky Radio Show. In this video you will meet La Noir and her soul mate, Roary.

Wedding Picture
This video was complied using Movie Maker, still pictures, an iPhone, and conversion software. Thank you Phantom for your expertise!

Squeek Rod

In a world filled with adventure and stunts one man and his crew rise above the rest, Hot Rod. However during his training something terrible happened to Rod’s voice, he became unable to say whiskey correctly! This coupled with the chipmunk squeaky style voice creates for some wonderful comedy. Enjoy!

This is a 3 star video assignment for Ds106 titled Chipmunk Style. It was created by downloading the youtube clip from the movie Hot Rod and then tweaking the audio in imovie to create the chipmunk style voices in the video.

Dear Sixteen Year Old Me

This is a Video Assignment and it is worth 4 Stars. This assignment gave me the task of creating a letter for myself if I was given the opportunity. I started out by actually typing up the letter and reflecting on my life. It actually took longer than I thought to actually write the letter because where can one even begin to write to your younger self about life and how to get through the final years of high school. I just took a deep breath and typed what I would feel would be the most efficient advice. Once I finished writing the letter I went to YouTube and recorded myself reading the letter from there since I thought that it would be more authentic. If there was anything I could do to improve on this assignment it would have to be actually putting parts of my letter and adding it in text to the video as I’m reading it as if the words are flowing all around me. I know it would be a lot of software learning for me to do but I believe that would really make my letter come to life.
