Every day I am always thinking about what I can accomplish, what am I still working on and what do I have to get done today. Thinking about these things also gives me the spare moment to really cherish the things I am in love with the most. My family, my craft and my time. […]
This is War of the Worlds: GIF edition, based on the 2005 movie adaptation.
Ray works as a crane operator.
He is divorced from his wife and she drops the kids off at his house.
Weird weather occurrences happen in the neighborhood and the electricity goes out.
The aliens attack for the first time.
After stealing a car, they find the wreckage of an airplane.
Alien tripods have destroyed major cities.
The U.S. Military fights the aliens and Ray’s son joins the fight.
Ray and his daughter hide in a stranger’s basement. The aliens enter the house but don’t notice them.
A few days later, however, they are abducted by the aliens. Ray manages to kill them.
Ray and his daughter make it to Boston and are reunited with his ex-wife and son, who survived the fight.
The aliens are unable to survive on this planet and they all die. Humanity lives on.
I chose the assignment “We’re the Real Life Brady Bunch” and gave it an apocalyptic/supernatural twist.
The family here is everyone but me who lives in our suite (rooms 210 and 212). BUT, something strange has happened: there are doppelgängers of ourselves coming after us! Not only that, but they’re undead too!
I made this while watching the opening ceremonies of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (which were GORGEOUS and AMAZING), and it was so much fun! Getting my suite together to take these photos also made for a hilarious Friday-night event. And I HAD to replace myself with my best friend, Ron Swonsowl (who, as you may or may not know, can open portals to mirror dimensions) because he just BEGGED me to be included.
I knew I wanted to put in a fourth-wall-breaking element and have the people (and owl) in the panels interact, and with that I attempted to make a 3-D effect by having the doppelgängers crossing into the gutters (spaces between the pictures). The overall editing process took a while, using a whole hod-podge of layers and color modifiers and drawing tools, but I am very proud of the end result!
My dog, Checkers, came to visit me in Fredericksburg! If you hear me talking about my puppy, I’m really talking about my twelve-year-old shi-poo (shi-tzu poodle mix). Even though I’m more of a medium-large sized dog person, I love Checkers to bits. While the train station isn’t on campus, this is were I’d go to meet my dog as she disemBARKS the train from Chesapeake (with her luggage full of treats).
Making this image was quick and simple (except that the first time I did it my laptop died and I hadn’t saved yet). I could have spent a significant amount of time making it perfect, but I decided to settle when I had to redo the entire thing.
I got a picture of the luggage on google (I looked up “dog luggage” but then went so deep into google I cannot find the image again). I had to distort the luggage with a perspective tool to look more realistic. On top of all that, I edited the contrast, saturation, and other color settings to better fit Checkers and her luggage in with the background image I took at the train station.
For this assignment, I had to use the assignment bank to create peices of visual work thats added up to an 8 star rating. My first is this project:
Although all the examples I saw looked very professionally done and don’t get me wrong looked amazingly good at how creative they were. I thought it was be good to do something a bit different and a little funnier. So this is my attempt at combophoto.
I used several images to make one whole one of a person.

This unit is all about improving the photography skills I may or may not have. Personally, I know how to use a DSLR camera for most basic things and obviously know how to use my phone camera too.
For this assignment, I had to use the assignment bank to create peices of visual work thats added up to an 8 star rating. My first is this project:
The concept behind this visual project was to make a portrait of someone or myself and using photoshop make it an unusual looking portrait using layers.
I took many pictures of my boyfriend looking in different directions and merged them into one image, layering and using opacity to blend them. What I like about this is the strangeness of the concept of the portrait matches the bizare shirt he said he’d put on for it.

Billboards are found all over in America, but not very often in the UK. Often, on social networking sites such as Facebook, memes are made from funny, supposedly real billboards. These funny or mildly offensive billboards, whether real or fake can often do wonders in helping a company or brand go viral in it’s advertising, even if it wasn’t made by them.

If given the opportunity to create my own billboard, I would definitely go to town! However, it became quite apparent upon beginning this task that I’m, dare I say it, quite bad at Photoshop.
I didn’t let this hinder me though! I decided to run with my poorly edited photos of friends and family and create an ironically funny, and also really cheap and tacky billboard. I guess most American billboards are fairly cheap and tacky. Of course, the humour shines through too.
So, despite not being my original outset, I’ve ended up with a funny billboard, and here it is:
It reads, ‘Someone or Something ruining your picture perfect? Remove the ugly ones TODAY! *no guarantee your photo will be made better’.
This guarantee of no guarantee of a good result is highlighted within the AWFULLY edited images of myself and friends and family. The tele-sales, cringeworthy text style also contributes.
Certainly a billboard you would stop and stare at!
For this Visual assignment I used the website Join the realm to create my very own Game of Thrones House. I chose to use the House of Stark template as from the books this is my favourite house and I really like wolves or in this case Direwolves.
I like the colours of this but I also decided to create another one to see what designs I could make. I liked this assignment as its quite fun to create your own and paly around with designs. I also am currently reading Game of Thrones and it’s interesting to feel like part of the narrative by designing your own house.
