Using the x-ray goggles provided by a firefox extension, I created my own web browser homepage. Instead of it being “The search engine that never tracks you.” I changed it and wrote Google. Because Google and many other big companies are tracking everyone online to help with advertising and learning more about a person to advertise to them more affectively. I personally do not like being tracked and I strive to keep my privacy online by using other browsers and using privacy related browser extensions.

The original assignment worth 4 and half stars. 

For this assignment I wanted to take the opportunity to tell the story of the beginning of the Suicide Squad. If you all have not yet seen this movie, go watch it. Is it a masterpiece? No. Is it worth a watch? Absolutely. Anyway, the Suicide Squad is a group of criminals and super villains who are forced to ban together and fight for the good guys when an evil woman hatches a plan to either use them for good deeds or kill them. This woman implants the villains with a detonator in their neck so that if they ever try to run or disobey her she can kill them (at least this is how it goes in the movie, slightly different in the comic book). These villains are forced to team up and take on different missions which is what the comics and movie are focused on. They were all in an extreme maximum security prison when they were banded together, and they were all lied to and told they would be released early if they followed the rules, so its interesting to see how the formation of this group happened on such a similar basis even though they were kept away from each other until they started doing missions together.

This was insanely fun, which is kinda embarrassing to admit. I played it so many times I lost count, but I wanted to share my first experience with you guys. I decided to take a snip of my first try at the game which was probably the worst draw out of all of them. This thing was awesome though!

Greetings…fellow agents. I modified this youtube video page to prank Captain America on thinking it’s magneto that will save him instead of iron man! Mwuhahaha. Eventually I got tired of editing all of the comments but I did quite a handful as well. Originally the video is about iron man’s entrance to the avengers, but in this video they are DEvengers! Greetings, fellow agents….I have created a super secret interactive code message above! It is loosely based off of a maze I created in a different class, making it up as I go along. It has many branching paths to explore with a cool ending and an (intentional) infinite loop! Took me about an hour to create and come up with ideas on the spot to flesh it out but I actually rather enjoyed making it.

It tricks people into NOT clicking the links, saying do not read about ds106! yes! I tried to even be funny on the top panels. Cat memes, gets me every time. I sure enjoy trolling students with stuff to do each week which may or may not be fun, mostly not haha. Wait…is that Adam Levine on that bottom post? Man, I should get his autograph!

Wait….I control ds106…where is all this coming…..Oh no..no…I’ve been hacked! Hacking agent smith resulted in my own site being hacked! I need to get to the Melsig event…but it tells me to run away!?

For my first web assignment, I decided to do the Find a Digital Tool assignment. The assignment is to Find a cool, easy to use  digital tool online and to write up a brief tutorial on how to use it, and what it can be used for.

The tool that I will be writing a tutorial on is called Canva. Canva is a free design software that you can use to create posters, flyers, social media banners, anything really! We use it a lot for my work, and organizations to create our posters!

Here are some examples of work I created using Canva.

Using canva is fairly easy and it’s pretty user-friendly. You can start off by using templates or start from scratch.

After logging in, you will be given the option of what poster design you want, or set your own dimensions. For this tutorial, I will be using a simple poster design. 

On the right side corner, there will be all the outlines that you can use, and edit, as well as various other things you can use. You can change the background color, upload your own pictures, insert textboxes and use canva’s already created photos, lines, shapes, and grids. Canva is a click and drop design website, so you can easily just click what you need and drop it on the poster.

Whenever you are done with your poster, sharing it is easy. You can easily download it in PDF, JPG, or PNG format and upload it wherever you like.

I highly recommend canva for someone’s next design project.
