Find an iconic album cover and remix it to represent a something different. It can be a play on the title, the image, the aesthetic, genre, etc

Using the Queen album Queen II, I reworked four pioneers into the shot. Though the image did not come out as well as hoped, the humorous aspects remain untouched. The songs on the pioneers’ version differ from the original and are as follows:

For my Second DS106 Assignment I did “Make the Untranslatable Understood”

“Use the Random Words with No English Translation tool to generate a word that could be better understood with a photo or image. Find a creative commons image or make your own, and include the word somehow in the image (using a desktop photo editor or web tool like Aviary or PicNIk). Then share it with someone and ask if it makes sense.”

This was the instruction given to me for this assignment.

Process.

At first I didn’t know if i wanted to do this assignment but when I visit the site which gives random words with no english translation the word which in in my picture came up. Instantly I had to do the assignment because recently I watched a movie similar to this meaning and also this word also has great meaning to me as well. First I went to look for pictures that would work to show the meaning of friendship and found two pictures of their friendship when they were young and when they grow old. Then I used gimp and by putting two pictures together and putting the words in place I was finished.

Story,

7 Girl Friends who were how do you put it bad students, or like best fighters in the school meet after many years to find that many things have changed but also as a person nothing changes. I don’t want to ruin the movie for people but if anyone wants to watch it please leave a comment and I will get back to you. Finally I’ll post the picture of each actor here incase anyone is interested.

Often you have to rely on your intuition by Bill Gates

The Assignment

I chose troll Quotes assignment because this is the most funy assignment for me because through the assignment, we can put someone’s quote into the other famous person’s picture. Assignment mentiones that 1) Get a picture of someone people idolize. 2)Slap on a famous quotation from a similar character from a different book or movie. 3) Attribute the quotation to a third character, from yet a third universe.

The Process

Firstly I used google to find picture as same as previous DS106, and I found Steave Jobs. This is original picture.

I used internet to find what kind of person’s quote fit in Steve Jobs, and I found Bill Gates. I put his quote to the picture through the Aviary. After I put the quotes, I changed the color, size and shape. I know there are many types of editing softwere, but Aviary does not require to download the soft, so there is no possibility to infect some virous. Thus I reccomend to use Aviary to edit.

The story

I chose Steve Jobs as this assignment because he is a one of the pioneer in the world. He created vrious IT tools such as iphone and iPad. He died in 2011. Most of people astonished about the news. Before he died, he did various works such as constituting Apple company. Moreover, Bill Gates is a one of the pioneer in the world. He and Steve Jobs are similar because their backgrounds are influenced each other. Bill Gates created Microsoft Company. Both pioneer definitely contributed to current IT society. I think the quotes comig from Bill Gates fit into Steve Jobs picture as well even though they are competitor in IT market.

Assignment

I finished second ds106 assognment. I chose Image with a message as the assignment. It makes me fun because through the assignment I can represent my opinion by someone’s quote with picture. It says that “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Your challenge is to enhance a famous quotation by superimposing it on an appropriate “Creative Commons” licensed image and to give proper credit.

I used Aviary again to edit picture. I found the war picture through google images, and I found the quote too. These are original pictures. ?

I put the picture in Aviary. Then I typed quote in the picture. This time I did not face problems as same as ds106 first assignment. Before do this assignment, I was looking for theo ther editing soft ware, but even though I found some soft ware, aviary is the easiest soft ware i ever. I reccomend to use it.

Story

I chose this topic because when I try to think massage, the phrase “Anti-War” is came in my mind. I found the quotes written by Albert Einstein. Even though he created atomic bomb, he mentioned the quotes. When I read the quotes, I have two opinions for this whic are agree and disagree this quote. Firstly, I agree his opinion. If no one go to the war, there is no war in the world. However, I have a question why people go to the war. There are tons of reasons such as protect family, home country and stop the war. Alothough there are meny reasons, people cannot stop fighting. I think people cannot understand each other wthout fighting even conflicting. This is sad things, so I think to show the image I put on this page is good way to promote antiwar by using internet. That is why I chose this picture and topics.

The assignment

I finished my first assignment, but I still do not know my work is correct or not. I chose the assignment as first because this is a appropriate assignment to learn how to edit the pictures. The assignment says: Create an iconic image/design for your own site that somehow represents you. Sorry, I chenged a direction a little.

Process

I used Aviary as editing soft player. Then I reserched the iconic picture of Messi and soccer court through google images. After I found them, I put into together by using Aviary. However, ther are difficuty. For example, when I try to import the picture into white paper, I could not do it. I do not know why I could not do it even now.

Story

I chose iconic picture of Messi because I think he is the best soccer player in the world. I will discuss his background a little. He was born in 1987, Argentina. He started playing soccer because his father has soccer team, and he teaches to children as coach. Messi also receives his father’s coaching. However, around 10 ages he founds disease which is hormone imbalance. Because of the illness, he does not grow up. To treat the disease his family have to pay much money, but they could not do. One day, he atends test provided by FC Barcelona, and he passes the test even he is still low hight. FC Barcelona mentioned they will pay his treating fee. I surprised when I saw the statement. In my opinion, even though Messi can go any team he wants, he belongs FC Barcelona because this is his thanks.

Assignment: Create your own Pokemone card using a pioneer.

Process: I uploaded a prime card into photo shop. I then erased all the characters aspects. I continued to create multiple layers to add the photos and the text.

Story: Vannever Bush’s Hp is 80 because he lived to be 84 years of age. He evolved from MIT because he graduated there. His first attack is a refrenece to the power of the atomic bomb. His second attack is based off of memex. If you take a closer look on the top-right corner, you will see a small image of magneto. That image is there because i believe they look alike, and it has no particualr refrence to anything relevant on the matter of this pioneer.

“The Adventures of Raindance Maggie”, by Red Hot Chili Pepper, was released in 2011. The popularity of RHCP has been pretty high, since RHCP has tended toward more main stream recently.

In this single, RHCP doesn’t lose its style, and the song is not too extreme as well. It had been played a lot on the radio since it was released.

After hearing this new single, I felt a little familiar with the bass line. It sounded like the guitar in the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army”. The sound was released about 4 years ago.

So, I started to mash up the songs, I put the bass of “The Adventures of Raindance Maggie” on “Seven Nation Army”. I didn’t have to change the pitch and it doesn’t sound bad. Since the White Stripes doesn’t emphasize its bass and RHCP is famous for Flea’s bass, both sounds match to each other.

DS106 Assigment “Make Your Own Ringtone”

Duck Sauce’s “Barbra Streisand” was pretty popular last year in 2011. Usually, dance music reaches to the climax gradually on the half way, which is a little different to the structure of mainstream songs. Therefore, I compressed the song and remixed it, since using real dance music as a ring tone is inefficient.

The YouTube link is Duck Sauce’s “Barbra Streisand” original mix, and the Sound Cloud link is my remix vision.

Process: I composed the tune on my bass guitar, (I made it originally for funk bass line) and change it to the right chord that matches “Barbra Streisand”. I found out that they extraordinarily match well (from 0:15) I also add my own drum beat. I add the break beat style and double bass into the song. In the end, I add a tune (0.52) to make the music hyper.

Actually, I was going to make it longer. But due to my lazyness, I didn’t. It somehow became suitable for a ringtone.

Assignment: Create a Minimalist travel poster based on a movie using the pioneers.

Process: I used photoshop to create this. I used a total of 20 layers in photoshop to complete this project. the first ten layers were used to upload each and every individual picture. i then cropped and erase the pictures to allow them to fit. the next ten layers were used to create the words using text. nothing fancy, just time consuming.

Story: The inspiration that lead me to create the elite 8, was from my indescision to pick a single pioneer. so i decided to use all the pioneers and our professor (mainly cause he asked me if he could be in the project.)

As the pokemon cards are getting pretty popular I think I will follow suit. This Assignment is “pokemon card” in the design section!

The Assignment was to create a Pokemon card with special powers.

Proccess: I chose to create a card of Alan turing because of his contribution to the computer world. He is even looked upon as the father of computer science and artificial intellegence. Also even with all of his contributions he was prosecuted because of his homosexuality.

The reason I chose the Psychic element because of role in computer science so I thought that pyschic element would be a nice look on him. I first found a blank picture of the psychic pokemon card online. The site I used has more elements so if people find it useful they can use this link. After getting the picture I used paint and added the text and the signs were added myself.
