For this assignment we were to find a picture of a couple in love and create a back story to it. I just googled a picture for this and the one above was the one I liked the most. Here goes my extremely made up story about them!

It was August 10th, 9:34 a.m., Josie had just woken up. She lived in a small apartment with her boyfriend Ryan, however he was deployed, and had been for a year, so she was waking up alone again. She got up, made some coffee and toast and sat out on the small balcony that over looked the ocean. It was a Saturday and she had nowhere to hurry off to since Ryan was coming home at some point that week so she took off work. It had been a stressful week since each day was passing at the blink of an eye and there was still no word from him or of him. He normally had his phone or his laptop but his phone fell and broke and he couldn’t get in contact with her unless it was through email. Since he had been traveling back to the states he hadn’t been able to talk to her in 2 weeks.

She checked her cell to see if his parents had texted her saying that they were on their way to pick her up and all of them would go to the airport. No such text came, so she went about her usual day. She cleaned the apartment, went to the gym, walked their dog and read a good book. Her best friend Shauna called her and made plans for them to meet up for lunch. Josie was apprehensive at first since she wanted to be home for when she got the text, but it had been almost a week and she could use a little socializing and some good food. Her and Shauna were to meet at the cutest little Bistro in town near a flower shop. It had been Josie’s favorite since that’s where she met Ryan. He was waiting tables and Josie happened to be at one of the tables he was assigned. He flirted but she had no desire to be charmed by him. Eventually he woo’d her enough to go on a date and the rest is history.

When Josie showed up Shauna was nowhere in sight. Nor was anyone else at the Bistro or in the flower shop or anywhere. Josie quickly became concerned and all of the sudden a song started playing from the speaker system at the Bistro. It was her and Ryan’s song, a slow duet of two pianos. It was their first dance at a friends wedding they had attended. Josie heard footsteps and coming out of the flower shop was Ryan with the biggest bouquet of roses she had ever seen. She ran towards him and hugged him, lightly crying into his neck. He picked her up and put her in front of himself and he got down on one knee. He proposed, she said yes, and the picture above was captured by Shauna. It turns out Ryan had been home since Monday but he wanted to propose in a wonderful way. Josie had never been happier and the rest is history.

What’s in Sally’s satchel?

Hey y’all it’s Sally! I saw that one of the assignments this week was to show what’s in your bag so I thought I would show my trinkets and handy things I carry around with me!

First things first, I’m a bartender so I obviously have a shot glass in my satchel. Ain’t no way I’m leaving home or the saloon without it. This one is special too since it was given to me as a gift my an ol’ cowgirl I haven’t seen in a while.

Then I have a bullet shell from the first gun I ever shot with my Pa and brothers. I kept the shell because it reminds me of the simpler times when I was a child running around my home.

Next is a lighter. I have this in case someone wants a fancy drink on fire. Also it’s great if I get stuck out in the middle of nowhere and need to build a fire and keep warm. It’s happened quite a few times. My brothers like to mess with me to say the least.

Sunglasses are also a must out west. With the heat, dust and the sun, I need to protect my eyes! Plus I make ’em look real nice with my pretty cowgirl boots.

The other two things are lip balm and a nail file. I may not be much of a looker but I do like to keep my nails looking clean and my lips nice and smooth. Plus the peppermint in the lip balm keeps my breath nice and fresh.

I don’t ever carry cash on me just because there are few who have it out for me and the last thing I need is to get ransacked and end up dirt poor f you’re wondering why I don’t have money! But that’s all there is to my satchel!

The Lazy Bunch

The Lazy Bunch

This assignment overall was fairly easy, the hardest part for me was trying to get my friends to actually do it! Hence the name, The Lazy Bunch. I took individual videos of each person and then used an app that makes pic stitches for videos and just inserted them where they were supposed to go. I then added audio to play the Brady Bunch theme song. Looking back on this, I wish that I made everyone go for the same amount of time because I was not able to figure out how to loop the video so some people stop before others and it’s not that long. Overall, I am happy with the turn out and had fun completing the assignment!

Love at First Banana

What a lovely couple they are! Abu and Amy are soon to be married.

Abu grew up on in the United States. He was a stage monkey who most notably appeared in the hit film Aladin. After appearing in several other films, this monkey made an appearance as an extra in the Planet of the Apes film in 2011. On set he met Amy after letting her cut in the banana line. She didn’t notice him at first. It took for him to slip and fall on a banana, which was left unattended on the floor by some reckless ape, for her to notice him. She helped him up and, they got to talking.

Fast forward a couple years later, and they can be seen in this picture on the red carpet. Why is she in a wedding dress? I have no clue. Why isn’t she looking forward? Well, she’s so smitten with him. She must be deep in thought. Couldn’t you tell? I can. And I take it as a sign that they are in love.

A rogue order

Richard gazed deep into Elizabeth’s eyes, his blue orbs holding back tears. For days he had been suffering from the tortures of being away from his one true love and finally, here before him, soon to  be revealed, was what he had been dreaming of. Soft and warm, ready to comfort him like no other could. No more would the other lads of the castle make fun of him for being the only one without, no more would he have the black ornament of shame upon his head, no more would the winter nights be grey and cold, for he was finally to be reunited.

Elizabeth stopped her work, quickly pulling the needle through the cloth and setting it down. She laid her hand in Richard’s as he reached out, and stared back into his eyes. She could see his lust, making her grin at the surprise she was about to give him.

“Is…Is it finally ready?” Richard ask, his voice little more than a whisper.

Elizabeth silently unveiled the cloth object she had been working on to reveal a cap of the deepest red. Immediately, Richard’s face fell and his gaze went back to Elizabeth, devoid of emotion.

“I…Had asked for a rouge cap…This is…Maroon.”

“Well, maybe you should spellcheck your work order next time!” Elizabeth exclaimed, beaming at the prank she had carefully worked on crafting daily for the last three weeks.

Who doesn’t love a joke? Admittedly, it’s pretty lame, but I really was not feeling like any actual love story, and worse, pretty much every picture I found fitting the theme was just some variant of the utterly generic “stare deeply into each others from inches apart” trope, how bland! Instead, I started searching for medieval/renaissance art because it can often look downright silly by our standards (seriously, so many giant snails in medieval art, it’s pretty funny) and I found this picture of supposed ‘lovers’ in it and thought it was great. The man looks so utterly bored out of his mind while the old woman looks far too pleased with herself.

Visual Assignment – Love at First Shot

Janie P. Index and Johnnie D. Middle are madly in love

They are constantly by each others side

and are often brought together with hope and luck

The only thing that could ever separate them

Would be an unfortunate accident!

Visual Assignment – That’s Not What I Expected

Can you guess what this is? Hint, I’ve been hanging out in the convergence center all day.

Howdy from Sam!!

Who doesn’t love a selfie? Especially with a dog. Especially with a dog in a cowboy hat.

IMG_5954

When I first saw this assignment I expected it to be fairly simple. I would just merely pick a photo of my dog and me and plop a cowboy hat into it. It turned out to be a little more difficult. I had to cut along the outline of the hat perfectly and then properly position it onto my dog’s head. I used an Iphone app called Fotobom to construct the piece.

The dog in the photo is my dog, Sammy, and I love him very much. I think he could’ve definitely been someone’s pet in the western era. Just look at him rock that cowboy hat!! But I am sure glad he’s all mine.

Bob’s bag

My LAST assignment bank post for the week is what’s in your bag. This assignment has you take a picture of the contents inside your bag, except we have to do it about our character we created last week. Well this posed a problem for me since my character is a guy so I don’t own any guy bags or like items they would carry around so I totally winged this. If you want to read more about Bob the Rancher visit this link.

This was super hard for me, but in his black bag is the following: “Cowboy” boots (yes I realize they are cowgirl boots, but I don’t own cowboy boots for guys), cowboy hat, a water jug because he is out on the ranch all day, an egg that he accidentally stuck in his bag from his chicken coop, work gloves and a baggy of some animal food that he can give to his chicken or other animals (it is cat treats in real life). This was the best I could do.

Pixeled Outlaww

The pixel outlaw

I created a pixel image of my outlaw character by creating a 16×16 template in MS Paint. I initially thought I was done and proceeded to upload the extremely small image into my blog before I realized I was going to have to re-size it again. Here’s the 16×16 version:
