Whats the Meme?

PicsArt_1426469973017

For this assignment, it was to take a picture a create a meme out of it. I used a picture of Stephen Weidman’s and my “characters” shooting their weapon. This is to represent their target practice for their job. There is a saying that states aim small miss small, meaning aim at a small target and you will miss by a small amount. I added some humor saying “unless your target is “small””, meaning the actual word because they are shooting at a sign with words on it.

The original assignment can be found here. It is worth 2.5 stars.

The Perfect Day with Caleb and Shadow!

Make My Day (3 stars)

The following is the perfect day for Shadow and Caleb! I collaborated with Abigail Dunn for this assignment. We used sketched out a schedule of things they would do together and then found on the internet each picture. This was inspired by our radio show Dead Silence although the beach ending did not occur in the actual story this is to represent an alternate ending if they had not all killed themselves.

Wanted: Tall, Dark, and Handsome

For my second collaborative character assignment I chose to do the “WANTED Poster” assignment worth two and a half points. For this assignment you were to use an online poster maker and create a wanted poster for a character of your choice. I chose to make the wanted poster of Janelle’s character, Sebastian Crane, and add elements of my character, Spence. Sebastian is what we would call a player. With his devastatingly good looks and bad boy demeanor he steals the hearts of many women. I decided to make his poster for him being wanted for being a “serial heart breaker”. I incorporated elements of Spence by bringing a modern element to the poster. I used a “tech” font and all grey to represent Spence’s line of work and his color of choice.

I made the poster by first going to mobilefish.com. Next I used the picture of Sebastian that Janelle had put up on her character dossier. After this I just filled in the information. Here is the finished product.

Apophenia: 3 1/2 stars

This assignment had you find something laying around in your house and make a picture out of it. All the item i used were something that would be found around James Blacks house along with Conway Adams’. Both are cops, so it made sense to use bullets in this picture.

Destination Honeymoon

Hey guys, Lena here!

I used to dream of vacations, but now that I’m married, I get to plan a Honeymoon!! Somewhere that I’ve always wanted to go is Aruba. My friends have told me that it’s amazing and I NEED to go. In order to convince El Jota that it’s worth it to go there, I put together this short little presentation! Enjoy (:

“Jim, Close(d)-up in The Hostage Hut” animated GIF by @iamTalkyTina

Well, I guess it’s time to let Jim out. His captivity motivated the creation of 19 @jimgroom Animated GIFs yesterday (20 if you count the close-up above), and so I guess that’s a pretty good haul for sitting around on your keister in a hut. You can see them all in the comments of that post. Plus, badges!

Perhaps he will enjoy the GIF as a souvenir to remember the fun time!

You can also click on the GIF above to see a finer 1200-pixel wide version, for more enjoyment of the beauty! You can also check out the high quality still-image version on Flickr.

For full documentation of the proceeds of the day, along with a larger, full-scene view of the Hostage Hut, read Jim Groom is Still in the Hostage Hut.

Some times a GIF is just a wonderful Art to make.

Okay, Jim, you are free! Go make some Art, bub!

I saw that Tyler completed this assignment for our characters and i completely agreed with him on everything besides the bow-tie on the truck. So here is my vision of James black and Conway Adams’ dream truck.

Mapping out our adventure

Bev here – not really sure why Damon called this “Bev Takes Damon Away.” It was a consented trip. We just wanted to go away. It was a lot of fun to show people that we have become friends and are getting along well. Take a look at our trip here.

If you click the picture, it should bring you to the site. I really loved the trip with Damon. We got to  do things like go to different beaches and see all the sites in Bali. Overall, I really loved the trip and valued the time with Damon. I don’t know why Damon thinks I just took him. I basically just saw him when I was walking down the street. After talking for awhile we got the idea to go to Bali in order to work on our friendship, because why not? Anyways,  a lot of my other blog posts talk about this trip too!

———

Overall, this assignment (4 stars) was pretty easy. Jonathan and I planned out the adventure pretty well together on deciding where to go. It actually meant that we had to learn some things about Bali along the way. After planning out everything that we wanted to do in Bali, we found some pictures that would go along with the trip and give some aspect of noir to it. We also came up with alternative stories on purpose, in order to keep the appeal of the trip up and still confuse people. After doing that, we just plugged the picture and descriptions into the places that we want to visit. Let us know what you think!

Warning Poster

For my second assignment of the week, Cuyler Matteson and I collaborated to “Create a Warning Poster” for 3 stars. Here are the instructions.

For this assignment, Cuyler and I incorporated both of our characters: Billy Steel and Michael “Ol’ Mick” Bretton. The idea of this poster is that Ol’ Mick, a detective, is informing people to watch out for Steel, who is a violent vigilante who is known to take the law into his own hands. We found a really cool, dark, ominous picture to represent Steel on the poster, and then used photoshop to compile all the aspects into a finished poster. Check out our work!

Look out for billy steel. He's dangerous.
