Tutorial for BuzzFeed Personality Quiz

BuzzFeed Quiz Tutorial

This assignment appears daunting because you are creating an account on yet another media site, but it is actually not as bad as you think. You may log in using a gmail account, which almost everyone has at this point and then you click button “Make a Post” under the “More” tab on the BuzzFeed homepage. Once under this tab then select the quiz option button on the page:

So select create a personality quiz and begin by entering the descriptions of the different results. Be sure you have a minimum of 3 results. Typically BuzzFeed quizzes provide a couple sentences to describe each personality result.

Next create the questions. Type in each question with the answers. If you want the text to appear large, then put it in the “Title” section, but if you want it to be small put it in the “text” section. I chose to make all of my questions in the title boxes and all of my answers in the text boxes. You can also easily add images to either the question or the answers. The website provides space to cite where the image came from and who made it.

Once you have created your desired amount of questions then preview your quiz to make sure it is working properly and everything looks as it should. Make sure you add a title and quiz description. BuzzFeed will also prompt you to add a thumbnail for your quiz in the toolbar on the righthand side of the screen. This should just be a small picture to represent your quiz.

If everything looks fine, then click the publish button in the top right corner and you have successfully created a BuzzFeed personality quiz. It should post immediately so you can share with friends.

Which Steadfast Sleuth are you?

BuzzFeed Personality Quiz (3 stars)

So perhaps I am a bit conceited in believing others would be interested in this for our agency. But I thought it would be interesting to create a personality quiz on BuzzFeed to see which Steadfast Sleuth people would be. Something fun for our agency to have, since our line of work is typically pretty depressing.

The actual process of making the quiz wasn’t too difficult. The steps were fairly self explanatory. You just followed BuzzFeed’s directions. The difficult part is coming up with the response answers and the questions. I chose to make 7 questions, some noir related and some not. I really enjoyed coming up with the different answers for myself and my colleagues, but it was challenging to write a description for all three of us. It was also challenging to find different pictures for each question to include. I hope that people are as interested in finding out which Steadfast Sleuth they are as I am.

Resume my Résumé

It’s hard to keep one’s secret a secret. Especially when creating a résumé (3 stars). I am an accountant by experience and actually have my CPA, but that’s not my true passion. My passion is to feel someone’s life in the palm of my hands and being able to take that away or choose not to. But when it comes to business, I must keep my accounting reputation and make myself look like the professional that I am. I attended high school where I grew up in Boston, Massachussetts. I spent 4 years at Monument High School and then after graduation I decided to move to New York and attend New York University where I began my accounting journey. After graduating college, I realized I liked New York so I decided to stay there and start my own accounting firm. It went great for about 7 years but then I met someone who has changed me in a way that I didn’t know was possible. I met Victoire and I just want to be around her so when she moved in with a few of her friends, I thought I would tag along so we didn’t have to separate. It turns out that these ladies and me really know how to run a business. That’s my source of income now…an agency called Hit Me. It’s a wonderful business, I’ll tell ya. I am able to showcase my skills and I can’t complain about that.

Hit Me Questionnaire

The agency is called Hit Me and for now that’s all you need to know.

This Web Assignment is called Pop Quiz (2 stars) but I put a little spin on it. Instead of making a “quiz,” I made a questionnaire that is for the clients of our agency. There are 7 questions and the answers of the questions will determine whether or not we will take that client in.

As per the assignment suggests, I used PollSnack to create this informative “survey.” Now there aren’t 3 separate outcomes but there are technically 2. They are just unknown to the taker until after the fact. The outcomes are either they are taken in as one of our clients or they are denied for reasons that will not be disclosed.

This questionnaire will help us narrow our clients down to a select few who will not turn on us in times of fear and who will hopefully come back and do business with us again.

I was not able to embed the questionnaire into this post so here is the link for it…

Feel free to take it yourself, but don’t be butthurt if you don’t get a text message….

Veronica Smith’s Resume

3 stars

Veronica Smith Resume

Veronica Smith, an intelligent, talented, successful lady for her time. I first began working when I 11 on my family farms. I worked there until I graduated high school and began working at the Hideaway lounge. During that time I did some small work with the United Service Organization with radio advertisements. I am now have a new job at the Stars and Stripe Bar in New York! I’m ready to make the move!

I based Veronica’s resume off of the jobs I had for her already. I added the family farm job and played around the years to make them accurate for someone born in 1920. The organization style I took out of my own resume. I went with this font to create a type writer feel since she is in 1942. This to me was also simple yet professional, and a proper length for a women of 22 years old. I elaborated in more detail what Veronica did at work. I also added some duties other than singing, like managing, to prepare her for the Agency. She is a smart girl and singing is only one of her many talents…

I uploaded the resume using Flickr, it was difficult trying to upload the Microsoft word file or any other image because of it pixelating.

My Resume

For my first assignment this week I made my resume for three stars. I used Microsoft word and I got to tell you it is damn hard to make a resume when you have been working for the same organization for over 30 years. The only experience I have is with the Atlanta police department and I have never had to apply to another job before. I actually do not even remember how to make a proper resume because I honestly thought I would never need to again. Is it okay to talk about your girlfriend in your resume? Eh whatever Blair is my sugar momma (as of now) so she deserves to be in it.

Below is a link to get to my resume but below that is an embedded link from flickr if the main link does not work. Let me know what you think!

You Follow the Map…It Knows the Way!

When searching for assignments together, Brianne Comden and I came across the “Google History Maps Story”, which we thought would be perfect for our characters, as they were connected in our radio show as grandmother and granddaughter. We also thought it would be great to collaboratively work on this assignment because it would allow our … Continue reading You Follow the Map…It Knows the Way!

Can I Pinterest You in Our New Board?

When searching for assignments that would ideally combine my character with another, I found the prompt, “You’re a Pinteresting Character”, which states: Build a Pinterest page of at least 20 pins for a character of your choice. Search for pins that relate to your character and things that he or she would want to pin for themselves. … Continue reading Can I Pinterest You in Our New Board?

You’re so Pinteresting!

For one of my assignments this week, I decided to do the assignment, You’re a Pinteresting Character, that was submitted by Brooke P.

The assignment is to, “Build a Pinterest page of at least 20 pins for a character of your choice. Search for pins that relate to your character and things that he or she would want to pin for themselves. Bonus points if you build a page and have visitors to your blog guess which character you picked!” This assignment is worth 4 points.

I was super excited to do this assignment because I am obsessed with Pinterest. It’s bad! I have SO many pins! I knew I would have fun with this one, so I started by logging onto Pinterest.

I decided to choose a character that a lovely fellow ds106er created! Try and figure out who the character is :)

I created a board on my Pinterest called: You’re so Pinteresting

I started searching for pins that the character I chose to do would pin! It was a lot of fun :)

Here are a few screenshots of my board! You can click on them to get you to the actual Pinterest page! Comment if you figure out who the character is!

The Sleuths Head to San Francisco

For the You’re A Pinteresting Character Web Assignment, I teamed up with Kim and Lauren and their characters, to create a Pinterest board that would detail what each of our characters would be interested in doing if they went on a trip to San Francisco. We decided to complete this assignment together because we wanted to keep our characters together and continue their stories together. Sarah Mustard and Shelley Layton are staying with Sasha Kellogg at her home during this trip. We decided to use San Francisco as our destination because it is another large city in California, like LA in our radio show, and there are so many things to do. The pins of KitTea, Black Cat Brewing Co, and other cat referencing pins are definitely places that the avid cat lovers, Sarah and Shelley, would check out. Sasha’s pins are more geared toward activities like drive-in movies and shopping. Together the Steadfast Sleuths can enjoy some good food and still delve into some mysteries while they are there. Our group covered our bases by finding relaxing activities like reading, sightseeing, and shopping and combining those with the detective’s natural inclination to unsolved mysteries with the Winchester House. This was probably my favorite assignment this week because I really liked being able to continue the story of the Steadfast Sleuths with their creators, and because browsing through images on Pinterest is entertaining.
