Resume

For one of the assignments of this week, I chose to do Character Resume(3 points) for John Brown. This assignment is to create a resume by using either Microsoft Word, creating your own webpage, or using a website like LinkedIn.

I chose to use Microsoft Word to write John Brown’s resume.

It’s been long time since I’ve been writing resume, but it was really great time to remind how to write resume! :)

Dream Vacation

For one of my assignments this week, I chose to do the assignment Create Your Dream Vacation on Pinterest, that was submitted by Haley Eckhardt.

The assignment is to,” Create A Pinterest Board Of Your Dream Vacation This is an assignment for dreamers! If you don’t already have a Pinterest account, create one! Next, take a moment and contemplate where you would want to go. A vacation does not necessarily mean you have to select one place to travel to. It can involve a variety of locations. Start off by creating a “board” for your dream vacation. All you have to do to create your board is click the “create a board” option on your main profile page. You could title it “My Dream Vacation,” like I did, or come up with something more personalized. You can select a category, such as “travel,” if you want, but neither a category, nor a description, are necessary to continue. Next, try plugging keywords into the search box on Pinterest for cities, countries, specific landmarks, attractions, etc. and “pin” your favorite images/travel blog links/recipes/etc. onto your new board! To pin, hover your mouse over the image and a red “Pin it” button will pop up in the top left corner. Go ahead and click on it. **The purpose of these pins is to give Pinterest subscribers access to a variety of recipes, photography, travel guides, blogs, literally EVERYTHING digital. Next, Pinterest will ask you which board you would like to pin it to. Make sure you select the board you created for this assignment. You can either keep the description the pin came with, or create your own! Completely up to you. And lastly, just click the red button again, and you will have successfully added your first pin! Congratulations! Keep searching and adding pins until you have developed a solid amount of things to do/see/eat on your dream vacation! Next, embed a link of your “Dream Vacation” Pinterest board in to a blog post and write out a brief summary of the trip you desire. It’s up to you what you want to write about, but some ideas would be:

– Talk about if you feel like this trip will be possible for you someday, why or why not?

– What is required for your dream vacation to come true? (Don’t just say money, do your research.)

– Do the place(s) you plan to go have a different native language? If it’s an exotic trip, are there legal requirements, such as shots, visas, etc.?

Really get to know your dream vacation– maybe it’ll happen someday!” This assignment is worth 3 points.

I have an obsession with Pinterest, I love Pinterest. I have over 10,000 pins. When I saw that there was an assignment having to do with Pinterest, I quickly got started. I also LOVE vacations, especially planning them. I am so glad that Haley E. submitted this assignment. It has been a dream of mine to go to Bora Bora, Tahiti. I absolutely LOVE tropical vacations. Bora Bora is exceptionally gorgeous. The water is perfect and everything is beautiful.

I hope that this trip is possible in the future because Bora Bora is truly unbelievable. Maybe my next big family vacation can be in Bora Bora since my parents would like to go somewhere tropical. Who knows!?! A lot of things would be required for this vacation to actually happen. First of all, I would need the money. I did find a couple of articles on Pinterest how to save money on your Bora Bora trip!

I would also need time off from school or my job. I would have to work a lot in order to save up enough days for this to happen. Saving money for this trip is a must. Awesome packing tips for this trip are also necessary! I found a few tips on Pinterest!

There is also lots to do in Bora Bora, so I would need to save for those excursions.

Shirley is surely pinteresting ;)

For one of my assignments this week, I decided to do the assignment, You’re a Pinteresting Character, that was submitted by Brooke P.

The assignment is to, “Build a Pinterest page of at least 20 pins for a character of your choice. Search for pins that relate to your character and things that he or she would want to pin for themselves. Bonus points if you build a page and have visitors to your blog guess which character you picked!” This assignment is worth 2 points.

I was super excited to do this assignment because I am obsessed with Pinterest. It’s bad! I have SO many pins! I knew I would have fun with this one, so I started by logging onto Pinterest.

I had a TON of fun finding things that I loved! This wasn’t too hard because I am obsessed with a lot!

I created a board on my Pinterest called: Shirley is surely pinteresting ;)

Ready to Impress

For one of my assignments this week I decided to do the assignment, Character Resume, that was submitted by Nicky Memita.

The assignment is to, “Using either Microsoft Word, creating your own webpage, or using a website like LinkedIn, create a “fake” resume for a fictional person or character of your choice. Add detailed descriptions and make the resume relevant to the character. Resume must include a profile, work history, education, and skills. Locations, job positions, and companies can be made up! Use your creativity!” This assignment is worth 3 points.

I don’t need a resume to impress someone, but it definitely helps ;)

I created my resume on a Word Document then saved it as a PDF and took a screenshot and saved that as a JPEG. Once I saved everything, I uploaded the resume to flickr.

The Case of Walter Walters

Storify It (2 stars)

This is a Storify story of The Steadfast Sleuths missing persons case. It will be added to our portfolio on our website of cases we have worked on together. In order to create this article for our portfolio I used my Twitter account to create a Storify account. The process of creating a Storify story is not too difficult and the website helps you along the way. I searched in the tab for forms of media involving The Steadfast Sleuths and inserted tweets, Flickr pictures and YouTube videos related to this case. Then, I ordered the tweets, pictures and videos into a logical order and then wrote in my own narration of how they each were connected. I had to download a Storify plugin in order to embed this into this post and then I was finished. If you are interested in seeking out our services for one of your mysteries I recommend you view this story and watch the video, because it will give you an impression of how we work as an agency on your case.

The Steadfast Sleuths Search for Walter Walters

Resume

I felt that everyone should be able to see my credentials so I decided to upload my updated resume. I created this in Microsoft Word and used a template I had found online as a reference. I added my contact info, my skills (though I did limit it to just a few since apparently some aren’t appropriate), and my past work experience. You will notice that I have left out my schooling. I am independently successful as a High School drop out. For this reason I feel that school is unnecessary to mention. Here is my resume. I really had to go back and look up where I’d been. Time really gets away from you.

Pinning Destinations

I created a Pinterest board for House of Noir Getaways as well this week. I know how the ladies like the Pinterest now a days. Hell, even I pin every now and again. I dedicated this board to travel destinations that would be a good place to disappear without a trace. I searched all of the destinations below through the “travel” category.

The destinations are mostly luxury, for that’s my specialty. I have pinned ones that I am specifically interested in ranging from the Northern Lights in Finland to underwater resorts. All of the destinations I have looked at are outside of the U.S. and are either extremely secluded or busy cities in order to secure maximum secrecy in your disappearance. Here’s a look at what I’ve been looking at:

Veronica’s Pintrest

2 stars

pin

Being that I love fashion, hair, and all things New York I have created a pintrest! Four different boards to organize my interests. Fashion for those lovely dresses and styles. Hair for those gorgeous victory curls. Shoes… well lets face it every women needs pumps. And New York just to add some of the excitement and landscape of the big city. If you are interested in any of these please follow me, and feel free to share any pins you think I would love!

This assignment was on the easier side. Since Veronica already had a email address I just created her an account. Then I created several boards for her: Fashion, Hair, Shoes, and New York. To find the pins I typed in “1940” into the search and went from there organizing into the different boards. To get more specific pins I used “1940 [name of board]”.
