The Basement

For this assignment (http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/make-a-scene-from-a-horror-film/) I was to create a horror scene. I made a script in preperation (http://kelliwisbauer.com/assignments/making-a-scene-from-a-horror-film-preperation/). For this, my mom played the “Mom” and I played the child, Kelli. My sister Katie taped this video. It was kind of hard to do, but I think we finally got the hang of it. I had to do a lot of editing, but I did it in Pinnacle a movie making program. I then added the sound effects and the credits. I think it actually turned out not so bad, considering I have never used video editing software before. This is worth 4 stars.

Video letter to my 16 year old self

So this video assignment challenged me to record a letter to my 16 year old self. Basically I just recorded myself telling my 16 year old self thing he needed to know and what was going to happen in the future. Check out what I said to myself!

So that was good! For this movie I used the mac’s built in webcam. I edited several video clips of myself talking together using the software Imovie. I cleaned up the ends and starts of the clips also. I felt good with my results. Imovie has a feature which lets you upload your movie directly to youtube from it. That is a useful software.

So what do you guys think of my video letter. For those of you who knew me when i was 16, do you have anything I should of changed when I was that age? I could’t think of anything.

This assignment was worth 2 stars

Me doing a video review of the Xbox 360?s Kinect

So I was challenged by this to make a video review of a product I own. I was either suppose to make a review about a product I use everyday or something I regret buying and was not not worth the money. I choose to do a review about the secound one. So here is the video review about the Kinect!

So what do you guys think? Anyone else have a Kinect and disagree with me? For those of you that are wondering, the Kinect costs $109.99. I got it in a bundle so I technically do not know how much I paid for it. I used a mac webcam to record this video and edited in Imovie software. I basically cut out some parts are the start and end of the video that were not relevant/scene that needed to be retaken. This assignment was worth one star.

Cicadas: Not as Sweet as We Thought

What’s Your Opinion On…

Onions? Love? Politics? Ke$ha? Have you ever had people just randomly ask you what your opinion on things are? Be it pop culture or something historical, we are always wondering what people think about something specific. For this assignment, pick something that you are curious about what other people think on the matter. Go around and ask people “What is your opinion on…” and record their response. Compile the responses into one video. Have fun!

I used my iTouch to record these videos and compiled them into iMovie. I used the Mosaic transition between each of the clips to make it flow smoother. I added text to identify each person interviewed all with iMovie. I considered adding a song but I found it overpowered the voices so I left it as it was.

What is your opinion of Cicadas??

You can find the assignment here!

Play by Play

For this assignment (http://assignments.ds106.us/assignmen…) I took a video from youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRlJ9r…). Using a software that my dad has on his computer (Pinnacle), I edited out the music and audio that was in the video originally. Then, I did a voice play by play that i recorded in Audacity. Then, Using pinnacle again, I put the sound back in, in place of the original audio. I think This actually turned out pretty well, considering I have never done anything like this before! I did a little preparation for this, by picking out the video and writing a script for what I would say during the play by play. This is worth 2 stars.

Survival Video

For this assignment (http://assignments.ds106.us/assignmen…) I was supposed to make a video for someone on how to survive something I have already gone through. My video is a survival guide on how to survive an ACL tear. I tore my ACL when I was in 8th grade, so I think the advice that I give in this video could really help a lot of people! I created this video on the video software that was already downloaded on my computer (Dell webcam central).Tthis was worth 4 stars.

Dear sixteen year old me

For this assignment (http://assignments.ds106.us/assignmen…) I was to write a letter and video tape myself to my 16 year old self giving myself advice. I actually recorded this on the software that is already on my computer (Dell Webcam central) and it actually turned out pretty good! This was worth 2 stars

Play By Play Preperation

Another assignment I am doing this week is http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/play-by-play/

For this assignment I looked online and found a field hockey video of someone scoring a goal in a game. I stumbled upone this YouTube video of a girl scoring a goal in indoor field hockey.

I am just going to write out a little script of this play by play so that I am prepared when actually editing the video.

Script: The white team has a short corner, lets see if they can get a goal off this. She passes to the top, and the girl gets a nice hard push off the ball to the goal… and the keeper saves it. ok, now good steal from the white team and a pass to the top of the circle. She works it around the players, there are some fouls in there, but posession is held. hard pass across the circle, and a shot. GOALLLL

Making a scene from a horror film preperation

One of the assignments I am choosing to do this week is  http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/make-a-scene-from-a-horror-film/

To help me witht the making of this movie later in the week, I need to prepare a little. First I will think about and layout what the video will be. When I was a kid, I always hated going down to the basement at night when everything was so dark, expecially when I would have to go to the laudry room, and attached to that is even my dads workshop! so, needless to say, at night and in the darkness, going downstairs was, and is always very creepy. That is what I am going to make my scene out of. I plan on having help from my mom.

For the script:

Mom: Hey kelli, can you go downstairs and get something from the freezer?

Kelli: Ok, mom I guess I can *starts to walk* *Thunder* *lights flicker, and then go out completely*

Kelli: MOM?!?

Mom: Yes ? the power just went out, this storm out here is getting pretty bad.

Kelli: But mom, Im scared, can you PLEASE go downstairs with me?!

Mom: No, honey, You can do it on your own!

Kelli: ok…. *walks downstairs very slowly, looking around. goes into laundry room*

*banging around in shop*

Kelli: WHAT WAS THAT?! *opens door very slowly* *woman is standing right there waiting, and says “BOO!”*

*runs up stairs but the lady grabs her leg and she falls*

A Visit to the Doctor…

NPH and the Search for Color from bellekid on Vimeo.

I went to the doctor to try to figure out what was wrong with me. Was it my mind or had all color drained from the world? Was I going crazy? Was I going blind? Was it my Trouser Weasel playing tricks on me?

I chose to do the Return To The Silent Era assignment, making the Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion in Doctor’s Office episode of Neil’s Puppet Dreams into a black and white silent film.*****

I started by using  KeepVid to download the clip as well as Dama May by Kevin MacLeod as my music for the clip and title cards from Michael Branson Smith to use in the piece.

I imported the clip into iMovie, where I muted the sound track and changed the saturation of the clip to zero to make it black and white. I then made title cards and inserted them throughout the film at appropriate points, which was honestly the hardest part of the process. As I was working on it, I decided that the end of the film would be the first signs of Neil’s recovery and chose to make the last bit of film after the dream partially in color by changing the original clip’s saturation to 51%.
